We took a spur of the moment trip to Kilwa from Dar es Salaam. We didn't have a reservation and arrived about 8pm. On the face of it, the hotel seemed decent. The rooms were clean and well kept. Our second floor room looked over the ocean. The beach was lovely. But the staff made us feel like we were...

I stayed in this hotel for some meetings in Kilwa area. The hotel lies direct on the beach, the food is better than what I normally get in Dar es Salaam and the rooms where clean and decent. The staff was a little bit slow but they were really friendly and helpful.

After a long flight, I went directly to Kilwa, since its a place I never visited in Tanzania. The hotel was a very good place to get rested and enjoy the beauty of Kilwa and is sea. The rooms have sea view and clean facilities. The lounge spreads from the beach up to the reception/ restaurant, which I enjoyed sitting...

This hotel has an OK standard, but is not in any way exclusive. The location is great, right on a white beach, and it is a very peaceful place. The food is excellent. You are not in a rush here, if so, order your meal in advance. The meny is not very large, but the chef is very good. The...

Really enjoyed our 2 night stay at Kilwa Pakaya and it's our second time there. A special hats off to the chef, the food was excellent. Especially the coconut curry prawns and fish fingers! He even made us fresh sashimi! The a/c's in the room could do with a bit of maintenance but otherwise the rooms were quite clean and...

I was intending to stay at this seaside resort for 4 days but had to leave after just one night. It is a great location and the rooms on the second floor do have a great view of the Indian Ocean. The beach is clean and the "restaurant" is located close to the beach with lots of outdoor seating. I...

Let me start with the positives of this hotel: a stunning location on the beachfront (with excellent view from the second storey rooms); well-appointed, attractive rooms (e.g. a/c; bar fridge; kettle), good food at hotel restaurant. Unfortunately, the list of problems is pretty extensive: a/c down for two days; internet down all week; slow service from poorly trained staff (one...

We were walk-ins. Enjoyed the breakup in trip between Dar and Lindi. Rooms have AC and fan plus great view. They have a generator for the predictable African power outages. The rooms are not very spacious but sufficient. We liked the big windows with view of ocean giving the room natural lighting. Restaurant area and beach area pleasant for relaxing. Loved...

Traveling up from the south - this breaks the journey to dar nicely. The rooms are of a high international standard with an excellent menu in the restaurant. The hotel is easily found by following the pakaya signs from the main road. One arrival - yow are greeted with the back of the building- but as you walk through toward...
