Everything you love at Aman resorts you'll find at Amandari. They were especially welcoming to out children ages 5 and 8. We had friends with children visit us for the afternoon, and without discussing our guests beforehand, the Aman staff with their "jedi" skills knew their names and preferences. The front desk staff spent nearly every evening with the kids...

The experience with Amandari did not start well as we had to wait for our car one hour at the airport. However, because of that, we got a double upgrade to a pool villa, from our Village suite, a complimentary massage and dinner. It was therefore worth the wait. This shows you how much effort the staff puts in the...

Didn't stay here this visit due to time constraints - had only 2 nights in Bali and arrival time was past 11pm...nevertheless, made it a point to visit this beautiful resort and to have a meal there at least. Mum told the guide we definitely want to visit Amandari during our few hours in Ubud...the manager and staff were all...

We had only two days this time for the Ubud area. And therefor we got the car to bring us early morning to the Amandari. We were lucky to have the same room as in earlier visits. A view on a rice field with people working on it. We felt as of we had not been away. This resort is...

I love this property. From the authentic Balinese stoned village look to the modern touches that accompany it. This is an intimate resort that caters to all your senses. It rests on rice fields on one side and the Ayung river on the other. There is nothing not to like. With the Aman service on one hand and a magnificent...

We stayed at the Amandari for 3 nights in December 2012 just before boarding a 32 day cruise. The first morning our camera fell off a table and the lens was smashed. My husband went immediately to the front desk and in no time the staff had located a camera shop in Denpasar and we had a car and driver...

How does one compare two wonderful resort hotels? Obviously, you can't go wrong at either place. The Amandari villa may be larger, especially considering the upstairs bedroom and half-bath; but the narow spiral staircase there is particularly difficult if you're tall. The villas at the Four Seasons are spaced further apart, requiring in many cases one of the many hotel-manned...

Unlike other luxurious hotels, we felt Amandari is very close to the local Kedewatan community. The greatest thing about Amandari is that all of the hotel staffs are very friendly, well trained and are trying to show the inner Bali, real local tradition and culture. if you are intersted in Balinasian culture, you will enjoy the various activities they offer....

My wife and I recently spent 6 nights at Amandari. Quite simply, it was fabulous. Our two level villa (number 24) was very comfortable and spacious, the private outdoor bath tub beside our villa was wonderful, the views from the villa were very interesting and scenic, the pool was wonderful, and the food and wine were excellent. The manager (Mr....

From the moment we were greeted at the airport until departing 5 days later, we felt like we were the only guests at the hotel. Our every need was met. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Amandari (meaning peaceful spirits) is located in the village of Kedewatan, on the fringe of Bali's cultural capital, Ubud. Perched on an escarpment high above the winding Ayung River gorge, this resort follows the design of a traditional Balinese village. Pebbled walkways link the thatched-roof suites, each of which has its own walled garden. Amandari provides a unique setting from which to experience the cultural richness of Bali's artistic centre as well as its mountainous region to the north. ... more   less
