This was the surprise package of our recent Tasmania trip. It is set in semi rural area south of Hobart but easily accessible. The hotel has a French feel in the decor and is very welcoming. The staff are friendly and efficient. For some reason we were assigned the accessible room located behind the lounge and beside the bar, this...

Others have reviewed this property and referred to it as a 'ghost town' or complained of the cold. Sadly, I must agree. We arrived to be met by absolutely delightful staff, who were incredibly helpful. We had a wonderful swim in the warm, indoor heated pool but there the service stopped. Afterwards, there was a single staff member on duty...

Close your eyes and open them again and you could be in deepest France standing outside a fabulous villa! This 1970s building has a chequered and interesting history but has now developed into a stunning boutique hotel. The staff are attentive and friendly and the rooms are plush and quiet. Food first class and the ambience is inviting. We had...

This hotel is very special. The building, the atmosphere, the service superb. You have to experience this to appreciate it. Dinner isn't served on Sunday and Monday evening so we opted for a cold plate served on a veranda overlooking the estuary with superb wine on a warm sunny evening. Memorable.

comfortable, relaxed hotel. clean spotless room (with a self confessed ocd housekeeper!). Some may find it old fashioned (no bling) but if it is, its is so in a very comfortable, relaxed way. great breakfasts too (best we had in Tasmania). Great location for the Huon valley and the many attractions near by. small staff all very freindly and helpful....

Villa Howden is a lovely place to stay. The Villa is quite spacious with lots of areas to sit and relax, read a book from the library or play various games. The Villa and the rooms are decorated in a french style, plenty of room in the bedrooms with a small verandah looking out over the property. We were welcomed...

If you are looking for a relaxing stay in a boutique French inspired Villa this place is for you. The grounds / building are unique and the service outstanding (special mention to Richard who went above and beyond). Highly recommend to others.
