My wife and I just returned from a 7 day stay at the Pink Sands Resort on Harbour Island, Bahamas. We stayed in a beachfront cottage that was lovely. The beach is even more lovely. The staff were exceptionally warm and friendly and always seeking to please guests. One member of the staff, Nathan, deserves special recognition. Every morning when we came down to the beach our lounge chairs were already set up by him in a cabana like structure with the number of towels he knew we would want. One day we had a short period of rain while we were walking on the beach and he took the initiative to bring our things in from the rain so they would not get soaking wet.

The Pink Sands Beach Resort is a paradise for those who prioritize beach, nature and family life in a vacation. Its location could not be better: it is in front of a great, beautiful and empty beach. Crystal clear turquoise waters and soft waves, clean, almost infinite sand (really pink), all for just you and a few people more. I don't have enough words to describe how beautiful this beach is, which is why I am attaching three photos.
The hotel is in Dunmore, the picturesque little town where you can find grocery stores, liquor stores and restaurants (just a few, decent but pricey). Most of the property is tropical forest, in the middle of which are the cottages and villas, no more than 20 of them, very far from each other. We (a family of 5 adults) stayed at the La Mer Azure villa, which has three large and comfortable bedrooms, a spacious living and dining room, and a fully equipped kitchen. The beds, bedding and abundant towels are of excellent quality. The decoration is unpretentious but very tasteful.
We felt like being alone in the middle of the jungle, because we could not see or hear anything from neighboring rooms. To go to the beach we did not have to walk more than three minutes (that is why it is not necessary to rent the electric carts).
There are only two restaurants in the hotel: the bar near the beach, which is open until 6 pm, and the Malcom51 restaurant. Both serve fine but expensive food, like all food on the island, actually. For us, food was not a problem because we really enjoy cooking, so we bought groceries at Key Market or Pigly Wigly (five minutes walking), where you can find almost everything you need to prepare a good meal.
The housekeeping service is excellent and discreet. The boys who help in the beach with the chairs, umbrellas and towels are very friendly and well disposed. At the beach bar, the service is slow and some waitresses were even rude at times. But, if you are patient, you can relax on that spectacular terrace. The Manager, Kym, is present even in the small details. For example, when we arrived we found some little inconveniences in our villa (a shower that didn't work properly; there was only a machine for coffee with capsules, and we prefer american coffee; and other details). We told Kym, and he got everything fixed fast, with a dedication that we appreciated. He is an example of a manager concerned about his clients.

If we were asked to highlight any aspect that could be improved, we would say that the owners should spend money in renovating the sofas, kitchen appliances and, especially, the TVs (none of the TVs in the villa were smart-TVs). It is also surprising why there is no gym; even a small one would make a big diference.

It is an expensive hotel, yes. But it is so because its value offer is unique. For those of us who run from crowded beaches and enormous all-inclusive resorts, the price we paid was much more than worth it.

We just got done with a 3 day stay at the pink sands. While the rooms have been updated, they still are well below 5 stars. The sink was broken our entire stay, and seems to have been for a long time as the sink and counter were full of backed up debris. The bottle opener was rusted shut and full of hair. If you like hot showers than you are out of luck here as the showers are like warm and quickly run out of hot water.

Our room wasn’t stocked with towels during housekeeping. If you try to contact the front desk via the room phone it just rings and eventually hangs up. Additionally coffee and cream were not restocked. After asking repeatedly for these items we had to go to the front desk to get them.

Service by the beach was 1 star if that. Beach towels were never available the three days we were there. We were unable to get any type of drink or service. In fact the beach hut was unattended. If you want to lay by a pool go elsewhere as the pool is unattended and has zero facilities. Service at blue bar was also horrible! We had to get up and ask for our check. This was after 3 requests and 40 minutes of being patient on island time.

We paid $2000 per night and expected to have a lot better for that kind of money. I would say anything more than $400 is way too much for this property. Save you $$ and go elsewhere…. Take this review as a gift!

The last part of our Mini Moon we spent on Harbour Island. After staying on Long Island, Bahamas for 5 days I was ready to be wowed by amazing food, and the Pink Sands did NOT disappoint. This was hands down the best food we had on the island. We had a cottage which was extremely nice, the only thing negative was the bathroom needed a shower door/curtain as water would spill out all over the bathroom, and was molded in some areas. The furnishings in the room were luxe, and the grounds themselves are beautiful. I think the resort does need a nicer pool (we are next door at Coral Sands, and their pool was night and day compared to Pink Sands). The beach at the Pink Sands is beautiful, and everything about the resort is peaceful, and tastefully done. Every meal we had here was fresh and excellent.

This is the 2nd year we have visited Pink Sands Resort and both times have had an amazing experience. The staff is so very friendly and accommodating. We lived at the beach for much of our stay. They had staff raking the seaweed off the beach every morning, and beach staff were always checking in to see if we needed anything. We ate at Blue Bar for Brunch and Lunch on many days. The team there gets to know you after a few days and makes you feel like family. The food is delicious and always consistent. We LOVED our cottage. We stayed in an ocean view 2-bedroom and had a huge outdoor patio. The cottage was very spacious and well appointed. Housekeeping service was provided daily along with all the bottled water you need. We also ate at Malcom 51 (the dinner restaurant) twice. The Spiny Lobster Tail w/ Pappardelle was so amazing I ordered it both times! We actually ran in to some guests who were visiting at the same time we were last year and returned for the same reasons we did, it's just a magical place. We have been to many restaurants and popped in to other Hotels while visiting Harbour Island.
There is no better service than what you get at Pink Sands.

The location is just AMAZING! The beach is beautiful, the views are out of this world. Staff at the Blue Bar and the beach hut were super helpful and friendly. But sadly whilst we have firmly decided we’ll go back to harbour Island we will be looking for alternative accommodation rather than the pink sands resort. And it’s mostly due to the value for money: you get no help or whatsoever from the front desk, rooms are dated, and it’s even little things such as being tight with the bottled water (they would only leave 2 tiny bottles per adult, none for the child) which really rubs you in the wrong way.

At that price tag, you’d expect more…

Checkin is at 3pm. We arrived just before 12:00, which we clearly told the hotel on booking. They told us the room wasn’t ready but that we could enjoy the facilities and they’ll call us when the room was ready. We went back to the front desk at 3pm and they said they called me (no missing calls) and tried to find us but they couldn’t (we were sitting in the lounge by front desk!)

We visited with a 3 year old, they’ve known for months we requested an extra bed for the child. We were received by a tiny cot - we thought it was a mistake, we asked them to change it (several times) - NOBODY did so we had the child sleeping with us the whole stay.

They knew from booking we wanted our transfers sorted, on the day of departure, they told me they were not aware of the request (although it was printed on the itinerary they gave me). They wanted to charge me $180 for the transfer due to late notice (!) - the transfer costs for 3 people around $50 including tips…. So I arranged it myself and let front desk know that. At 10:30 I got a call asking me what time we were leaving, which was odd because I told them only about an hour earlier, but also rude given checkout is at 12:00.

The lock in our villa was broken. They had to come and fix it 3 times in 5 days. Each time front desk just tried to give me another key and it was very visibly an inconvenience when I kept refusing to get another key and requested maintenance to sort it out. The highlight was when I missed an important work call because I couldn’t go into my room to get my computer! We ended up having to leave the room unlocked for the rest of the stay.

My bill was wrong, they tried to charge me extra days of the golf cart I rented (read my tip on this topic) even though I had returned it to the front desk two days prior checkout and one hour before the deadline. Just another example of the disjointed customer service experience.

It’s a shame, I had great expectations as my husband stayed there many years ago and always talked so fondly of it, and it didn’t live up.

I was fortunate enough to be a part of the inaugural Wellness Weekend at Pink Sands. From check in to check out and every detail in between, the staff was there to handle or assist with our every need, allowing our first retreat to be a magical experience for all 30 guests who attended. I lead the yoga classes, offering beach yoga flows and Pam Butler hosted breath and meditation workshops and a beach boot camp workout, too. We all left feeling refreshed and recharged and we can’t wait to go back! Being able to reset our minds, relax our bodies and renew our spirits in these most uncertain times is an experience that I do not take for granted and one I will never forget. The scenery at Pink Sands is exquisite, trust me, Google images doesn’t do it justice, you have to see it to believe it and every direction you look their are views for days as the resort is a lush tropical sanctuary that sits on the most beautiful pink sand beach that will literally blow your mind. The food and service was exceptional with options for every guest, from tofu scrambles to banana pancakes, to fine dining and craft cocktails, you had options, and isn’t life about finding the balance. We were lucky enough to experience live chef demonstrations and learned hands on how to make conch salad and we also enjoyed family style meals where the chef and staff worked their magic in the kitchen cooking up something for everyone!
***** 5 stars, for sure, or more!
I would hands down, wholeheartedly recommend Pink Sands Resort to anyone and everyone. Whether it be for another Wellness Weekend, Celebrity Chef Event or a special get away, book your stay now!

Amazing property with amazing service, from the moment you arrive you will feel right at home. The views are stunning and the warm hospitality is second to none. Both of their Food and Beverage outlets are excellent ( Malcolm 51 & Blue Bar) are competitively priced compared to other Resorts in the area. We dined at neighboring properties and Pink Sands Resort for us was our favorite by far. If you visit Harbour Island this is the place to be.

This place was absolutely magical. You start to relax the moment you set foot on property. The Pinks Sands staff and service was impeccable and friendly. We stayed in one of the two-bedroom villas with a pool and loved having the extra space and privacy. After we had been at the beach all day, it was really nice to be able to relax around the pool in the shade. The food was amazing! We had lunch at the Blue Bar almost every day, and our favorites were the chicken sandwich, fruit & feta salad, and the conch salad. I can't say enough wonderful things about our time there. Harbour Island is a place where you just feel fortunate enough to be able to visit, and we will definitely be back.

I really can't say enough about the PInk Sands Resort. We stayed in one of the two bedroom homes with some friends for a week long vacation. From the first step on the resort.....the staff made us feel welcome. We were met by Shaun who handled our luggage and made sure we had everything we needed. We asked for a few items that were delivered immediately. Our house was hidden from other houses but a short walk from the beach. Once on the beach we realized that we had chosen wisely. The water color is breath taking and the pink sands do exist. Aiden and Dwight at the beach services made sure we did nothing but relax.
This resort is very casual and classic.....I can only imagine the history that it holds.....and the locals are extremely warm and friendly. Can't wait to return!!
