Good points: charge points for an electric car, friendly cheerful staff, clean restaurant, good pastries at breakfast. Bad points: filthy carpets (in common areas and in bedroom), smell of smoke in corridor, dismal decor in the room, tiny bathing cubicle, shower not functioning (not discovered until the morning). Cheap price for one night booked at late notice, but we won’t be back.

The Staff were all very polite and friendly, in a pleasant are with a lovely atmosphere and would have voted 4* if it were not for the room that was so hot in the night, we checked the heating was not on and had to open the window fully resulting in alot of mosquito bites, the bathroom was a strange prefab plastic box that creaked and cracked.

On our second night through France and Spain, we had chosen to stop off around the Bordeaux area. Hotdog.com gave us the Bel Air as a possible place to stay. True to form, they were welcoming to us and the dog and the restaurant allowed us to have him with us in there as long as he was on the lead and sitting quietly. The food was very cheap and very good. The room was very basic with a shower/toilet cubicle separated from the bedroom by a concertina door. However, the room was immaculate. We had a tv and a small tablet of soap plus a sachet of shower gel. I would not want to spend my holiday there, but it was certainly fine as an en route stop over. The meal at the restaurant "La Terasse' was excelent at 12€90- however, we were surprised to find it all come together on one plate - including the dessert - though obviously all separated off from each other!

I had a two night stay here whilst visiting family near by. This 2* hotel is clean and comfortable, but more than a little dated and the rooms do need a makeover. Bed was comfy but some what on the low side.. Basic room fascilities (take your own travel kettle if you want drinks in your room) as they are not provided. Breakfast was more than adequate and 7 euros extra and taken in the Brasserie. Owners & staff helpful & friendly but limited English spoken.
