What a wonderful place to stay in the heart of the Dordogne. We were so impressed we tagged on another night. For the start of our stay we had a room on the ground floor looking out onto the enormous gardens. It was extremely clean and very spacious. For our final night we were moved to the ‘honeymoon suite’ which was truly stunning and had its own large balcony looking out to the swimming pool. The owners Thierry and Gael are superb and could not do enough to help and offer advice on where to go and what to do. We wouldn’t have had such a good trip without them so a big thank you. Breakfast was very good ( would have liked real coffee though!) and one morning we were given a treat of cannales, a speciality of the region. We will definitely go back.

Great hosts, great rooms. large continental breakfast.
We arrived on a Sunday night when the shops and most restaurants are closed.
Our hostess agreed to provide 3 course meals with wine for our group even before we mentioned we were vegetarian.
We had restaurant quality, home cooked food and it all disappeared.
We would recommend La Carreterie and will definitely be back.

This is an excellent place with wonderful surroundings and the most helpful host ever. Quiet, with superb rooms and a great breakfast, it has a nice swimming pool, open thill late and perfect atmosphere for a very relaxing vacation. It also welcomes pets.

La Carreterie was a surprise for us. Didn’t really know what we could expect apart from the fact that friends had spent some nights a couple of weeks before us. We had a very relaxing stay in Pineuilh. Quiet place, a beautiful garden, .... close to a lot of villages and not too far away from Bergerac. 🍷👍

We stayed at La Carreterie end of July - beginning of August 2023 with our family of 4 and our dog Maya. Our stay in this lovely place was perfect. The first days we stayed in 2 rooms(Iela and Mauricette), both were very large and nicely decorated. After a few nights we moved to the 6-persons gîte which we loved even more. Everything is provided: a fully equiped kitchen, household linen,.. The beds are great and the bathrooms really modern and clean. What made our holiday extra special was the owner: Thierry and his son are such nice people and are always so very helpfull and sincerely interested in their customers. La Carreterie is in quite neighborhood but only a few minutes drive from shops and markets. We visited Bordeaux, Bergerac, Saint-Emilion, Duras, Castelmoron-d'Albret and some wine castles: Thierry was always available to give us some tips and advice. We also enjoyed the lovely garden: our dog felt completely at home ! The swimming pool is great and we played badminton, table tennis and petanque. I can only recommand this place !

We spent 4 days at La Carreterie with friends and had a fantastic stay. The accommodation is beautiful, the setting idyllic and the hosts Franck and Lucien could not be more welcoming. We are already planning a return trip.

We stayed here (2 Couples) for a 4 day stay. Really lovely place. Impeccable rooms finished to a very high standard and taste. Gardens and swimming pool available for guest use. Proprietors very helpful and welcoming. Highly recommended. Well situated for visitng nearby Bergerac and bastide villages. Local vineyards well worth a visit for 'degustation' and purchases.

La Carreterie is simply beautiful. The interior of the gites and rooms have the same feel and standard you would expect from a boutique five star hotel. Somehow the fabulous Franck and Lucien have transformed the accomodation into contemporary, stylish spaces whilst respecting its history and traditional feel. The surroundings are just gorgeous. A fantastic pool waits for you within generous, well kept grounds- we relaxed in a hammock, read, chat and recharged in peace. I cannot speak highly enough of this place- I cannot wait to return!

Beautifully presented property. Has lost none of the original soul in its restyle and total renovations. Hard graft over the last 2 years by a creative and hardworking Franck and Lucien had seen an old property brought back to life and into the 21st century. Worth visiting to not just see the amazing interiors but to relax in their wonderful garden, take a dip in the pool and walk through a back gate into the vineyard. Super comfy beds and pillows, amazing shower and great attention to detail. Super hosts. Don't miss this one!
