Detailed Reviews
Very well managed site, Paul is fastidious in cleaning all areas, helpful and responsive to our requests. His dun prepared nice cycling maps. Camping site spacious and quiet. Tip ‘plan your Sundays’ as very few restaurants are open.

This was our second visit to this site and I can honestly say it is still the cleanest campsite we have ever visited since we started caravanning in France 27 years ago. Peter (the owner) really cares about the site and he works non-stop to ensure everything is as it should be. I would recommend this site to anyone who likes a small quiet site right on the banks of the Dordogne.

English run campsite within walking distance to Sainte Foy La Grande. The family who run the campsite could not be more helpful and welcoming. The sanitary block, washing up, laundry room etc are all kept very clean. The pool is a welcome bonus. There are lovely views of the river from the campsite. Great location for exploring Gironde wine country. There is a useful enclosed field next to the campsite office, where you can exercise your dogs.

Superb campsite on the banks of the Dordogne river. Quiet and peaceful with pitches in the sun or in the shade. Segregated facilities, pool, games room, washing machines, level pitches, mobile home rentals. Beautiful town, lovely owners. Frankly it's had to beat. Stayed one night on the off-chance whilst passing through - ended up staying a week it was so good.

We have used this site many times. Good location to explore nearby, ideal for motor-homers, as in a town with everything you could want within walking distance. The site is well kept and the owner is the most helpful you will ever find, we will keep returning !

The best campsite we have ever stayed at in France. A superb owner who ensures the site is clean, well kept and he goes out of his way to help visitors. Cannot fault the site, location and quality. We will return again in 2024.

This is our fourth time of visiting Camping Bastide and we shall be returning again. Nothing is too much trouble for Peter and is loyal family of staff. The toilet facilities and showers are very clean along with the lovely swimming pool. We really cannot rate this camp site any higher. Lovely grounds which are well kept.

In 2012 having been bitten to death by mosquitos at a campsite some 40 miles away we left our caravan on site and drove solo in the car looking for alternatives.
We arrived at this site to be warmly welcomed by the owners. We explained our dilemma and why we were solo at that stage. They invited us to look around and we were enthralled, what a delightful site, small but perfectly formed. We asked to reserve a specific pitch and offered to pay for that night even though we would not be arriving with the caravan until the following day. The owners said that we had no need to pay,the pitch was now reserved for us.They said not to rush but arrive the next day at our leisure. We stayed for a!most 4 weeks that year and the rest is history as we have returned each year since and are booked in for a 40 night stay in a little over 2 weeks time.

We stayed at this campsite for 2 nights in late august 2014. We got the campsite out of the ACSI book and found the campsite easy enough, We knew from the area that we would see a lot of english people, but we never expected to see this little England campsite.
When we drove up we were looking at the entry which told us to ride at the left side of the street and we needed to enter the campsite on the left site. That felt somewhat strange to say the least. We were welcomed in English of course and the owner told us which pitch was still empty and thus we were pointed to that pitch. As we had travelled to the UK on our previous Holiday, we felt right at home here. We had a tiny pitch and it felt very closed in and small. The people next to us on either side were lovely people and we had some really nice chats with them but we felt pretty cramped non the less. Not that it was all bad, the toilets and showers were really clean and the water in the showers were very very hot. There were enough shops in close proximity of the campsite and the village wa nice enough. All in all it was a nice place but we were not swepped of our feet by this campsite;-0
We had a lovely time and love English people but we will not come back for a second time!
