Bordeaux beckons lovers of wine the world over. Many chose to stay in the stunning historic center and venture out to the vines. We did it differently. Chateau Palanquey rests on the very edge of the Saint-Émilion appellation only 15 minutes from the village of the same name. A hilly landscape dotted with centuries old farms, estates and churches are viewed from the approach road and your window. At Chateau Palanquey the family proprietors have curated every space and moment of the guest stay. The chateau's grounds are meticulously groomed. The buildings were painstakingly renovated. Public areas are generous, comfortable and tastefully decorated. Rooms are spacious, well appointed and climate controlled to the guests desired temperature. The large beds are comfortable. Bathrooms have waterfall showers with luxurious linens. The chateau offered a full breakfast daily and a multi dinner once during our four night stay. The heated outdoor pool, spa (with massage studio, indoor pool, jacuzzi and sauna) and gym were in top condition. Above all the hosts Melanie and Laurent are gracious and knowledgeable hosts. Melanie arranged for vineyard visits on short notice, recommended excellent restaurants. She also helped us avoid making mistakes with our precious few days in the region. Laurent is a wonderful chef! This resort is for adults only. We are a gay couple that felt very welcomed by our hosts and guests. Would we recommend this place? Absolutely. You must go! And do yourself a favor and book direct!

We lucked out...we extended a previous booking while everyone else cancelled! Laurent and Melanie did not want anyone else to book so that their family and us were safe from exposure to the coronavirus. Not only are both Melanie and Laurent wonderful chefs who provided new recipes everyday, their service and company was superb! We had the exclusive use of the spa which included an indoor pool, an outdoor pool, a gym, sauna, and jacuzzi. We spent eight weeks with them and their three teenage sons. We were free to walk over an hour up to the ridge and around the valley. We saw the vines sprout their spring shoots and flowers including wild flowers.

Everything about our stay was perfect. Laurent & Melanie are great hosts. No detail is overlooked from the decor, the food, the hospitality, the location, the amenities and the conversations. Laurent and Melanie make the food with little twists and turns that are pleasant surprises - cesar salad with a coconut milk dressing, squash soup with saffron, the duck perfectly cooked and plentiful. The chateau is nestled in between vineyards and the bike rides are a nice challenge up and down hills. There is even a gym. We had a wonderful stay. I would have loved to ride out the confinement there! Elizabeth

This is a very special hotel, in a gorgeous, relaxing setting with a beautiful garden in the middle of the vineyards. My room was extremely comfortable and spacious and, like the rest of the hotel had lots of character. Melanie and her husband are very attentive hosts and I was grateful for their flexibility over my dining and room requirements. Delicious food too. I hope to come back soon. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Fabulous Chateau set in a beautiful location . Tastefully decorated with quirky arty pieces throughout. Lovely well appointed rooms each with there own spectacular views and a couple have their individual hot tubs . It was the perfect location for my belated birthday celebration with friends and family , brought forward from last year . Melanie and staff family were superb hosts and wonderful cooks. We enjoyed a great choice of wines and drinks in comfort of the two lounges , loads of games to keep any age of party amused while listening and reminiscing to vinyl . The choice of indoor and outdoor pools , lounging areas and beautiful gardens .

Well located for trips to Saint Emillion for dinner or exploring, if you can drag yourself away from the peace and tranquility. You also have the option of cycling walking in beautiful countryside and the vineyards .

A place to make memories and to return .

Our stay at Chateau du Palanquey was absolutely wonderful! Our rooms, private jacuzzi, heated pool, spacious common areas (entertaining games/books and artwork) and lovely views were the perfect balance to a busy day of touring the area. Breakfast was delicious and generous. Our dinner was SUPERB! Cold zucchini and mint soup, duck breast with veggies and creme brulee finish was the best meal we had in all our travels through Paris, Bordeaux and St. Emilion. Melanie is an excellent hostess, so helpful before and during our entire stay. I wish we'd stayed longer and will definitely look to return to Chateau du Palanquey one day.

So you want to visit the French wine country and you are overwhelmed with all the different sites and options. Well then let me help you out. Delete everything and come to chateau Palanquey. Nestled on 27+ acres of stunning grounds. This peace of heaven on earth is hosted by two of the most welcoming proprietors I have ever met. Please do your self a favor and stay here for days as a short visit will leave you wanting more 🙏🏽.

This was our second stay at Chateau Du Palanquey. It was every bit as good as we remembered. The food, accomodation, and surroundings are first class. The hosts made us feel at home - it was like visiting old friends. We will certainly be back!

We stopped at Chateau de Palanquey for one night on our way back from holidays and our only regret was that we only stayed one night! The place is simply amazing, it is beautifully set in the midst of the Saint Emilion vineyards, it is very calm and lots of outdoor space to enjoy the beautiful landscapes. The views from the outdoor pool is amazing, the rooms are very clean and comfortable, the whole place is decorated with vintage furniture and is very stylish.
We would love to come back to also enjoy the beautiful fireplace inside the living room on a colder night!
Melanie and his husband were very good hosts and gave us lots of tips to visit Saint Emilion.

The rooms were magnificent, spacious, and all-importantly, air-conditioned during a very hot spell.
The food was delicious and our hosts went out of their way to cater for all our dietary needs-much appreciated!
Loved the pool and pool area outside , where there was plenty of great shade from parasols.
Would definitely return.
