Nothing fancy- its an old hotel with old furniture and fixtures. The rooms are immaculate and the bed comfortable. The breakfast is just ok, but staff were kind to get me more fruit than was presented on the buffet. Great to have a grocery store with ATM literally across the street. Very handy. Also walkable to the souq. I enjoyed the location- nice to be in a real neighborhood vs. tourist location. Nice and friendly staff.
I stayed at this hotel as single travller for 7 nights. This was a good mid range hotel conveniently located with 20-30 minute walk to corniche. I found all staff exceptionally friendly and helpful. There was a bar attached to hotel which again very friendly staff and local customers. My room which was adequate for single traveller was very comfortable and kept clean by the housekeeping staff. I am not a great breakfast person so found that toast coffee was adequate but there was a small buffet selection. Evening meals, although, only ate twice in evenings, were bit hit and miss. Soup being delivered well after main meal finished was one example. There were several very cheap eating places outside hotel which were preferable. All in all no real complaints and would happily stay again.…
The Mutrah Hotel was a very solid average hotel. Here are the positives: - VERY friendly and kind front-desk staff. Loved all of them! - A 30-minute walk to the souq and the corniche. - Conveniently located across the road from a Spar (grocery store) - Room 25 was great for us! Large and quiet. The not-so-positives: - Spotty WiFi and this annoying password system whereby you have to re-enter the login and password every time you want to get back on-line. - An older hotel with definite need for a "refreshing" of the decor - While our room was great (clean, large), several in our group complained of small and dirty rooms. - The place is HUGE (sprawling) and has extended into several buildings. While this isn't such a bad thing, anyone with mobility issues needs to know that there weren't lifts and it is a long distance to reception. - We were interested in using the fitness facilities. Don't -- scary!! We finally found them but couldn't find the lights and the room seemed more like a storage area. Overall not a bad place and worth it for the location IMO.…
By necessity we might stay ten nights in Mutrah Hotel. The kindness of the manager, the staff so helpful, our time was perfect. A spacious room with comfortable king size bed quiet and functional bathroom were excellent . The restaurant presents a beautiful card with Indian and Chinese cooking, generous and testy for a modest price . For a drink, the superb night club, ultra modern is perfect. We highly recommand this place with a professional maintenance . Rare !
My friend and I had a wonderful stay at Mutrah Hotel. The staff was so friendly and attentive. It is in a great location and my friend and I walked 20 minutes to the Mutrah Souk and Corniche each day, stopping along the way to buy treats in the local restaurants. Highly recommend. Plus the price point was excellent compared to other hotels in the area. Definitely stay in Mutrah if you are in Muscat for tourist, and stay at this hotel!
