Ideal location for visiting Addo Elephant park and surrounding area. A hearty welcome awaits you from the hosts. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Breakfast sorts you out for the day. Nice fresh hand made bread and a full cooked breakfast. No food at night so limited choice on where to eat. Fridge, tea and coffee in the room. Situated on...

My wife & I stayed here for 1 night in October. The location is ideal being only a few kilometres from the southern entrance of Addo Elephant Park. Our room was on the ground floor floor with a patio that looked out over the river. The room decor was a little dated but more than adequate and very clean. What...

From our first email contact with Liz and Peter we felt that this was the right choice for us and arriving and meeting them proved that our feelings had not erred. Friendly, welcoming and helpful in every way. They went out of their way to please. This will always be the place for us when we visit the ADDO area...

Hi, We had the great fortune of staying at The Happy Jackal Guesthouse for 3 nights, whilst visiting Addo National Park. Colchester is not the prettiest town we have visited, but the Happy Jackal is a real haven. Liz and Peter were perfect hosts. They made us feel very welcome and could not do enough for us. Peter made his...

Liz and Peter are the best hosts we have ever experienced at a B&B by a long mile. You feel like family the moment you meet them. We stayed 5 nights and their breakfast, where they host is simply out of this world. You can order what you want and the eggs like you prefer..from omelets, eggs Benedict, to fried...

Beautiful place to stay in a fantastic location just a few minutes from addo and the sand dunes. Dinner and breakfast were both delicious. Unfortunatly we were only there for one night but would have been a great place to stay longer.

I very much appreciated the service we received from Liz and Peter by waiting up till nearly 10pm to check us in. The room was great even though it was freezing. We ended up sleeping in our jeans and jackets we wore that day to get some heat - we did plug in and put on the wall heater but...

Lovely house in a beautiful riverside location. It's at the Matyholweni entrance to the Addo Elephant National Park. The breakfasts were truly wonderful, with home-made breads and jams as well as the eggs, sausage, fruit-salad, cereals, ....They also do bookings for many of the local activities, and were very well up on what to do and were to go in...

Wonderful quiet location on the Sundays river banks with the opportunity for long walks. The accommodation and food is excellent. Highly recommended if one is travelling in that area and an overnight stop is required.
