We've had a wonderful time in Normandy, despite the clouds, the warm welcome and homely feel of the people and the cottage made us enjoy a great time. The smell of lavender enhanced the warm feeling of the beautiful house and it's clean and comfortable rooms. Jane and John made us feel completely at home without intruding our privacy. Thank...

We come every year to Normandy, and we always book La Paix first . We feel at home here , always asking for " our usual room please" . It is separate to the main house, with its own entrance, a fully equipped kitchen and a lovely comfortable sitting room overlooking the lavender field, and farmlands beyond. What more could...

Great place to stay! We came here for a 3night break along with our dog for a non-stop tour of the Normandy beaches etc. We cannot find fault with the accommodation, beautiful garden, walks and local amenities. The accommodation is of a very high standard with beautiful views over the gardens and surrounding countryside. Within 5mins drive you are in...

I stumbled upon this place via Google and Lavander! Cannot begin to do it justice! My partner and I had been to Dinan for 4 days and had stayed in a dire SC accommodation - check out Owners Direct Property Ref FR6063!!! It was awful beyond belief and the only good thing was the location! I don't think I have...

My sister and I were warmly welcomed by Bob, his lovely smiling collie dog and the beautiful perfume of lavender! From the word ‘go’, nothing was too much trouble. We had good advice on places to visit and things to do, and if the information wasn’t to hand, Bob researched it and came up with the answers – for example,...

To have found this corner of paradise in Normandy with its outstanding B&B and evening meals was a great joy. The fields of lavender added to our feeling of well-being and being welcome We'll be back sooner rather than later with our friends Stephanie and George

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Tucked away in a small hamlet, just outside of Conde sur Noireau, in Suisse Normandy, famous for its craggy rock formations, caused over many, many years by the rivers Orne and Odon, you will find La Paix, you home from home in Normandy. Our guest accommodation is in a separate house, adjacent to your hosts' home, which can be booked either on a bed and breakfast basis or as a 1 or 2 bedroom self-catering accommodation. Each bedroom has its own private ensuite, so no sharing. Ideal for couples, wanting to get away from the hustle and bustle for a while. Evening meals can also be provided. Suisse Normandy has masses to offer visitors who like outdoor pursuits such as walking, hiking, fishing and kayaking, as well of plenty of places for those who prefer exploring. As La Paix is an hour south of Caen, all the major attractions such as the tapestry at Bayeux, the D-Day Beaches, Pegasus Bridge and William the Conqueror's castles - he had two, one in Caen and one at Falaise - are easy to reach. Golf courses can be found at Clecy and Vire. For those who like a day at the races, Deauville, is within easy reach as well as the National Stud at Haras du Pin. Deauville, also famous for its film festival is also for shoppers, and has many good restaurants to sample. Mont St Michel is 1.5 hours away, take a drive through the beautiful Normandy countryside and stop off at towns such as Mortain or Sourdeval or have lunch in St Malo or on the Mont itself or visit one of the many seafood restaurants located along the coast road round the bay. Take trip to Granville and see Christian Dior's belle epoc childhood home on the cliff tops overlooking the town, have a seafood lunch at one of the many restaurants near the harbour. Explore the rock pools or just wander down down the vast sandy beaches near St Pair sur Mer. A little further south you will Domfront and its medieval town make a good lunch stop and further down the road, Lassay les Chateaux, also good for a lunch stop, again with a medieval castle and lake. Drive back via Bagnoles d'Orne, the spa town and relax on the balcony at La Paix with a glass of fizz. The only big decisions you make in the day are: do I have another cup of coffee and where to go for lunch. For up to date availability, please click the link to our website. Looking forward to meeting you soon. ... more   less
