The AbanoRitz Thermae and Wellness hotel is a charming hotel in Abano Terme, at the foot of the Euganean Hills, just 10km from Padua and 40km from Venice. There are 3 restaurants, one is a la carte with vintage design, the barbecue in our park and the White Gloves restaurant, a traditional restaurant. There are 2 semi-olympic pools, an indoor one and an external one in the park, with thermal water whose temperature is 34°C, open every day from 8 to 20. There are also sauna, Turkish bath and emotional showers. The Thermal Centre is under medical supervision and has its own source of thermal water. It also provides mud therapy accredited and patented by Europe, inhalation therapy, massage therapy, treatments for mind and body wellness, face and body spa treatments and hairstylist. There are a lot of spaces to relax: lobby, reading room, fireplace room, the Mirror Room with classical music concerts every week. Inner bar. Midnight club and smoking room.

I recently spent ten days with my partner in the Abano Ritz. I do not recommend this hotel because of: A) Rudeness of head waiter who mockingly turned his back on us the first morning when we wanted to order our coffee; B)this same individual who would bump into another staff member without apology; C) and who promised to send soup up to one of us who had caught a virus, and then did nothing, remarking that there was a hospital nearby ! D) The spa doctor who promised to provide antibiotics and paracetamol for us because of the virus, and did nothing until reminded; E) The reception which had no idea of when the buses to Padua ran. One handicapped guest who wanted to visit Padua had to wait for an hour, because no proper timetable was available. If you have arrived by private transport, are in perfect health all the time and don’t need any thing out of the ordinary, you may enjoy the faded glory of this hotel. I should add that the period-style bedrooms were always clean and we were only too glad to leave good tips for the chambermaids at the end of our stay.

I'm sorry, I'm very sorry for this review, I apologize if a couple of people out of 72 collaborators seemed rude to you...reading it makes me think that the rather aggressive review is not aimed at the AbanoRitz...10 days of stay and I I am the director, I have not had any feedback on what he writes to me...as for glory, I believe the not at all faded testimony of the numerous loyal customers is enough Ida Poletto - General manager

I really enjoyed my week long stay in this hotel. It has a beautiful old world charm, in a stunning location with excellent health treatments and kind, friendly staff. Family run, with attention to detail and 2 amazing thermal pools. The environment is calm and relaxed. The garden is shaded and peaceful with mature trees and hammocks. I would particularly thank Frederica, who individualized our stay, had excellent English and could not have done more. Particular compliments also to the lovely Constantino for his reflexology and excellent health advice, as a qualified doctor in natural medicine. Lovely, healthy food. Bedrooms spotless. I would love to visit again. Barbara from Ireland

The Abano Ritz was probably, at one time, one of the nicest spa resorts in Abano Terme. The lobby is luxurious, the rooms large and the dining room elegant. Unfortunately, this property has not kept up with the times. Although it is ranked as a 5-star property, the Ritz in no way compares to some of the other true 5-star hotels in Abano. The grounds are overgrown, the furniture and rooms are dated and even the cleanliness of the pools is lacking. We wanted to love this place as the proprietor is friendly and the staff are hard working. The negatives however outweigh the positives. In particular the breakfast is very disappointing. No hot food with the exception of some very watery eggs unless you want to pay extra. The cold cuts were of average quality and the pastries just passable. This is an area that could easily and quickly be improved. Dinner was family style and of good quality. However, this property is competing against other hotels in town that offer a proper antipasti buffet, a dessert buffet and more menu selections. The pool area is quite nice, but dated and far too small for the number of guests. The proprietor would be smart to consider adding a second pool and lounge chairs in the rear garden area that is largely unused and somewhat overgrown. Hopefully she will consider this upgrade for the future. Finally, the internet was completely unusable for most of our stay. Often we were unable to login even with good reception. Other times the internet dropped and we were unable to connect for hours. We spoke with reception about this issue a few times, but were told there was no problem. So overall we had a good time, but at this price point, improvements need to be made in order for us to come back.

Thank you for this careful analysis… I could argue and point out the value of some choices but here I am only pleased to mention some aspects that you wanted to praise. The lobby is luxurious, the rooms large and the dining room elegant. the owner is nice and the staff work hard. There is a second swimming pool while the first is a semi-Olympic one, the 6000 m2 park suffered a bit from the climate and was undergoing maintenance. We don't prefer buffets but we like the gueridon service. Thank you for reporting the connection issue as we have just finished strengthening and speeding it up. Glad I nominated my colleagues because I respect them a lot and I think competition is a good lever to improve while maintaining one's history and originality Ida Poletto - general manager

The website was very deceiving. The building was very old, and needed a good overall on the outside. The grounds needed alot of care, I understand during that time of year it would not be up to par but it was neglected and we could not even explore the grounds because there was tape stopping us from walking around. Speaking of the grounds, it is not nestled in the middle of the forest or mountains. You are in the middle of a town with roads all around and traffic could be seen and hear from my window. I did not have a great view. Concerning the room, it was a shock. It was decorated in old style furniture not modern at all. The sitting area was just room enough to sit facing the closet because we could not turn the chair around because the door wouldn't open. We asked for a twin room and received a double bed. There are 2 guests but it doesn't mean we want to sleep in the same bed!! The only good thing was the size of the bathroom. It was spacious and I appreciated that. Double sinks were great. On the site it sates 3 restaurants are on the premise but please not one only opens in the summer months and another was closed. Which we were not informed off. If you want to eat in the restaurant you need to book in advance otherwise you will not have a spot. Another thing we were not told about. This comes to the reception area. The elderly gentleman was a snob. He did not greet us kindly , nor give us any information concerning our treatments we booked. He didn't tell us about the closed restaurant, nor that we needed a reservation. The only positive was that a young woman who worked there was very helpful with whatever questions we had. She also helped to find a reservation at another restaurant when we couldn't get a spot at the hotel. The treatments..... both pools were small and people didn't share the time between each activity. They would spend so much time at one thing and didn't care that people were waiting on line. The turkish bath could fit 4 people and my shower was warmer. The spa could hold 2 and it was very sad. No heat at all. I had a massage booked and a mud bath. I came away from the massage worst than when I entered and even though the mud bath seemed lovely and the polish lady who was in charge was so kind and lovely, I immediately became sick after it and spent the same day in bed with a stomach bug and vomiting. No, I did not enjoy this spa or thermal bath. I would never return. Definitely do not come with children, it is mostly elderly people and the young kids we saw were miserable.

Too bad you didn't sign such a long comment but everyone reading it all the way to the end will be able to understand a lot. I'm sorry she fell ill and I'm sorry she didn't find a place in our restaurant as she only booked the BB. In 60 years of work we have never deceived anyone and what he says is serious but easily contestable: the park is 6000 square meters you can walk around even if under maintenance due to the season, the double rooms with double bed or with French bed measure at least 24 maximum 60 m2, the swimming pools are two semi-Olympic. As for the elderly and children, we do not choose guests who are all equally welcome, expected and desired... luckily they are usually satisfied since most of our guests are loyal ones. 5 Stars isn’t quite enough! This is a breathtakingly beautiful hotel. Filled with a tremendously talented and dedicated team who treat you like family and aren’t satisfied until they have knocked your socks off:) From the moment you pull up outside until you turn in your keys and bid arrivederci to the AMAZING team at the Abano Ritz Terme, be prepared to be blown away at every opportunity. The ambiance is sophisticated and serene. The pool and the grounds are opulent and oh so soothing. The spa team- ok I’m out of adjectives. Suffice to say I felt pampered. I felt valued as a guest (which unfortunately does not happen as much these days as if used too.) The food?!? OMG THE FOOD!!! Exquisite!!! I lived learning about the mineral springs and deposits at the base of the Eugenian Hills. My body and soul were recharged and I was so surprised! I’ve been told that one needs a full week for the mudpacks to do their thing completely. In just a few days my aches and joint pain disappeared. Would love to spend more time in the unbelievable swimming pool there. My husband and I are already planning out next visit- which will be a full 7 days (at minimum). Do yourself a huge favor- reserve a week at the spa and be prepared to be dazzled ❤️⭐️💝

What to say?!? It’s a lovely old fashioned hotel with old fashioned manners…. actually quite a joy! The staff are delightful and very very attentive. The furnishings are vintage and antique and it’s quite refreshing to be honest. In the foyer there is a grand piano which while I was there was played by one of the guests. The rooms are large and comfortable and if you ask you can have a room without carpeting. Pools are wonderful and the beautiful garden is absolutely relaxing. The service and food /wine are good and honestly I don’t understand why some reviewers have given such bad reviews, one can tell by the photographs it’s not a design/ tech hotel. All in all I would go back in a flash.

This hotel was recommanded to us by friends who told us they stayed and enjoyed their stay...many times. This was in....1998! WE came ' stayed and never looked back! We have been returning to this hotel - in evergrowing number of friends and family and were very happy with what this hotel is offering: great food ' fantastic spa facilities and - most importantly - great ambiance.. 2020 was/is supposed to be our 24th visit! Always for 2 or 3 weeks!! That is how much we enjoy and appreciate this family owned and run hotel.

we stayed in the Abano Ritz 4 times and this hotel is a very special place. If you only try it once, maybe you will like it or think "this is not the Ritz", but you need to see further. Behind the decoration out of time, there is a heart beating there. All the staff is keen on caring you, especially Oscar at the dining room, Antonaeta and Michele at the desk, Grabiele at the spa… and the owner Mrs Polleto sprinkles your stay with little touches and surprises. I really recommend the AbanoRitz.

It is all about your expectations! Finding Ritz you think about high quality service. Unfortunately, this hotel is not so good. It will be wrong to say it is bad, but our expectations were ruined. House keeping is not good. A lot of dust still in the room after cleaning. I don't think that you have to buy dental kit in the five star hotel (may be I am wrong, but my suggestion - don't forget your toothbrush). Instead of a lot of free tables in the main restaurant at breakfast time everybody who bought bread & breakfast have to seat a space before restaurant and wait to be served. Breakfast has no veraety of meals. Swimming pools are not big, but enough for guests.
