We spent an amazing week at Forestis at the end of March. It was truly perfect. The rooms are beautifully designed (our stay was in a Tower Suite) - the overall effect is simple, soothing and calming but closer inspection reveals how much effort has gone into the design to make it feel this way. The bathrooms were beautiful, there was a generous seating area for relaxation and an extremely comfortable bed but the star attraction was the mountains, viewed through the full height glass windows and glass fronted balcony beyond.

The indoor/outdoor pool is phenomenal with the most stunning views and the relaxation area surrounding it has ample loungers. The spa is very relaxing and we enjoyed a lovely massage in the restful treatment rooms.

Each day started with a fantastic breakfast in the beautiful, ampitheatre-style restaurant which ensures everyone has a wonderful view to the mountains. A huge selection was available from the buffet which caters for all tastes and additional hot items could be ordered from your table. A unique feature was the juicing room where you could choose your ingredients to make up your own, perfect juice. We were always greeted and served by staff who seemed to be genuinely happy and caring about their guests.

We took the option of half board, so enjoyed a different 7 course meal each evening which was of an unbelievable standard, well balanced with perfect flavours and presentation. There were 2 menus to choose from (Forestis and Detox) where they were happy to substitute courses between. If that didn’t suit, you were also able to choose an A La Carte menu. Again the friendly and skilled restaurant staff elevated our experience further. It was a nice touch that Günther, the hotel manager, would personally check in to ensure that everything about your stay was to your satisfaction, with a genuine wish to understand if there was anything more they could do.

If you further wish to eat during the day, the bar has an excellent menu choice with anything from burger, Wiener Schnitzel and club sandwich to pasta and salads available. There were also some beautiful cakes you could enjoy with a coffee. The bar menu was served well into the evening, in case you have not booked a dinner package.

I cannot think of anything to improve this wonderful hotel. It provided us with a truly restorative stay away from the stresses and strains of everyday life.

Thank you to all of the amazing staff, far too many to mention individually, who always greeted us warmly, looked after us so well in the restaurant and bar, concierge who advised us on nearby walks and those who serviced our rooms to such a high standard. We cannot wait to return.

Dear Steph K., Thank you for your great feedback and for taking the time to describe your stay at FORESTIS in such a beautiful and detailed way. We are pleased that you were delighted with the design of the room and its facilities and cleanliness. We will be happy to pass this on to our Housekeeping Team. Wonderful, that you were able to make full use of our SPA area and that you enjoyed the pool as much as the relaxation rooms. The cuisine at FORESTIS puts great emphasis on regional and high-quality products. We are glad that you enjoyed our breakfast menu, the selection at our breakfast buffet with the juice bar and the dinner experiences with Chef Roland's creative dishes. With our All Day menu offer (from 12.00 noon), we are happy to grant our guests the opportunity to order from our à la carte menu without time limitation. We are pleased that you were positively surprised by this. Thank you very much for your kind words to our entire team. It is our pleasure to pass it on accordingly. We hope to welcome you back soon and meanwhile wish you all the very best. Kind regards from the Dolomites Günther - Hotel Manager

Upside:THAT VIEW. That restaurant, design details and understated luxury.

Downside: Sadly, the gym.

Hotel Vibe: Understated luxury. You go for that standout view and are enchanted by thoughtful deign and the harmonious continuity of the retreat. The flow of the guest experience has been thoughtfully curated.

Location: 1800 metres. Remote mountain retreat.

Room:Tower suite. Simplistic at first glance, but certainly not stark. Details are tactile (the hand- made bath hugged my tooshie nicely) functional and truly aide guests to leave their noisy lives at the door. I dislike that Scandi style 2 x mini duvets, can limit midnight between the sheet action but I was alone so didn’t mind. It was a joy to drag my mini duvet to the day bed on the terrace, take selfies and drink espresso watching the clouds arrange themselves around the craggy Dolomiti.

F&B: The restaurant is the star jewel of a jewel laden crown: Sumptuous private booths (good for VIP’s) all facing the mountain view. Breakfast a la carte of course, on top of a high quality buffet. The breakfast was head and shoulders above most hotels, my wow moment being an adjacent pantry for guests to compose their own juice from the plethora of fresh fruit and vegetables using an industrial juicer. Normally I wouldn’t be so pedestrian and actually detox at such a place but the week I spent at Forestis I chose to be alcohol free. I was reminded of a friend’s story of her retreat in India. She described savouring each meal and every bite – I was taken on a similar journey every meal time. Service/Facilities Pool a fabulous 34 degrees, much appreciated. I’m a sucker for an elliptical spa staircase and well- designed spa. There is no excuse for having such limited equipment. Max 14kg weight, no upper body machines and only 1 bench.

We enjoyed an exceptional two night stay at Forestis this month and despite already having high expectations on account of recommendations from friends, we were completely blown away by everything about this hotel. The location is absolutely stunning and we were lucky enough to arrive after some fresh snowfall which made the views from the tower suites even more spectacular. We had accidentally timed our stay between 2 busy periods which meant we pretty much had the spa to ourselves for most of our stay. The facilities are just fabulous, there are several different saunas, steam rooms and relaxation areas, all spotlessly clean and with amazing views of the mountains. We had some spa treatments which were of a really high standard and great value for money.

The restaurant is beautifully laid out, with all tables benefitting from mountain views and the food was so fresh as well as being tasty and inventive. The chef also made a delicious cake for my birthday which was very much appreciated.
The Tower suite was everything we hoped for and we'd love to go back in summer and enjoy the balcony a bit more.
If you're looking for somewhere special to spend a few days in complete relaxation, enjoying stunning scenery, delicious food and perfect service, this is it!

3 night stay on 3rd floor of tower suite (bed and breakfast). We dined twice in the restaurant in the evening, had breakfast and used the spa with treatments.

The whole experience was exceptional; the Forestis team were friendly, welcoming and helpful. The hotel is absolutely beautiful and well considered in its design and layout with great creature comforts in the suites (including refreshments, toiletries etc.). They have accommodated for everything you might need, the porter even ran our car in the mornings to cool it down with the aircon and gave us refreshments for the journeys.

The views which you see from every angle of the hotel are just spectacular! From the moment the front gate opens to the driveway, your breath is taken away.

It is in a secluded spot (about 25min drive to local town of Brixen), and is a great base to explore this region from; we visited Adolf Minkel Weg trail, Lago di Braies and Brixen during our stay.

The hotel is wonderfully peaceful in its atmosphere - very quiet and relaxed. It would be nice if there was something to enjoy entertainment wise on a Friday or Saturday evening as we were the only people enjoying their gorgeous bar both evenings (but we had the friendly bar manager for company at least!).

This hotel is a 10/10 experience and is worth every penny you spend to visit! We will be back! Thank you for Forestis for a great holiday.

The views are spectacular, the rooms are simple but luxurious (felt Scandinavian), very nice pool and spa, great included breakfast. Dinner is very good, elegant and very fancy, so after three nights we went offsite for dinner for more simple, traditional local fare. You can only eat so much 5 star dining. The resort is 30 minutes to the next two closest towns, both a plus (no massive tourist congestion like Val Gardenia) and a minus as it is a long way to town and you will want a car in the summer if you want to leave the property. I live in an area with mountains and snow, and I can't say I would want to drive these roads in the winter. The service was top notch, professional and approachable, and the owners stopped by our table each night we ate in the restaurant to check on us. Excellent hiking in the area, from a nice walk above the tree line by taking the chairlift next to the resort, to scaling some of the Dolomites you look out at. (it was a beautiful hike!) If you have the opportunity to stay here, and you can afford it, you will not regret it. I already miss it.

You cannot fault this brand new beautiful hotel in the Dolomites. The owners have thought of everything you could need, and beyond. From the beautifully sourced ceramics on the dining tables, the softest bed sheets, the local produce curated so thoughtfully and aesthetically on each serving plate, the pine scented oils that fill the spa, and the heavenly atmosphere and solitude... Calling this hotel flawless is an understatement.

We stayed in a Tower Suite with a stunning view of the mountains and woke up to birdsong each morning. As somebody who loves wellness and fitness, I was overwhelmed in the best way with the array of options. On the weekly itinerary is guided wyda (celtic yoga), hikes, sauna sessions, meditation, HIIT in the forest, as well as options for a true foodie such as a chef and wine tasting.

The service was also 10/10 - our dinner server for the duration was a lovely woman called Margarita. She made us feel so welcome each meal and couldn't have been more attentive. Stefan the wyda instructor took us on a beautiful hike and passionately explained all there is to breathing, cold water swimming, and meditation. Everybody who worked in the spa, and of course, Florian who diligently explained the philosophy behind Forestis' menu and translated our entire chef's tasting.

My only constructive feedback would be, is that the upstairs relaxation room could potentially be optimised for better use. I thought the view here was amazing but because the beds were flat I didn't end up using the space as I liked the back cushion support of the chairs downstairs. In an ideal work this could be a really cool immunity/wellness smoothie or food bar for lunch options, or a reading room with a fireplace etc, or a pilates reformer room. Not really criticism at all just a few thoughts that ran through my mind.

I stayed for 4-nights however an ideal period would be a full week to maximise the hotel and natural surroundings. I'd love to return to experience the Winter and whatever incredible menu the extremely talented chef Roland has arranged then.

A big thank you to the wonderful Forestis team for this unforgettable experience.

We took a risk with his hotel as it is relatively new reset of a prior Alpine inn and hardly anyone in the U.S. knows it. We also do not typically stay at minimal, modern hotels. We are a well travelled couple who stays only at 5 stars, and I must say this hotel is truly amazing. It is isolated but in such a beautiful, quiet area with dramatic landscapes and a convenient, low key ski in/ski out area. The decor, interweaving Alpine and modern influence is sublime. Our penthouse suite was a gorgeous wood lined jewel box with pool, fireplace, sauna, kitchenette and front and center mountain views. Most importantly for a remote hotel that is all-inclusive is the food which was incredible in every way - a wonderful fusion of Italian and Austrian, incredible vegan options (the best vegan/veggie cuisine I have ever had) and a full 6 course meal can be delivered to your room every night. Only a few minor quibbles - the service is a little inexperienced (i.e., young and tentative) and some of the spa therapists are a bit weak. But we absolutely would return to this hotel. It’s really something special.

This is one of those places where I hesitated for a long time to write a review because it is so special you want to keep it as a special place to yourself. However the stellar experience the Forestis Dolomites team is able to provide justifies a shout out!

The hotel is located in spectacular natural scenery and the architecture highlights this from every angle. However the best hotels are about the service and this is where the Forestis Dolomites team excels. Staff is genuinely warm and attentive. They will try to create an individual experience for each guest. Staff drove us to a special place to go hiking one afternoon and also kindly and calmly shared their preferences around the region, with which they are all very familiar.

A particular highlight is their restaurant. The setting keeps it very private with jaw dropping vistas from the massive windows toward the Dolomites. Food is of such good quality that I am surprised they have not yet been awarded a Michelin star (or two). Again staff is incredibly kind both during breakfast and dinner. If you are hesitant to book their half board, I would say leave the doubts behind and just book it. It is spectacular.

The other highlight is their wellness area with their indoor/outdoor swimming pool. Again beautiful vistas towards the Dolomites and just lovely to swim outside with snow all around.

An incredibly calming experience to really leave your worries behind.

We do not tend to go back to places we have been before but have already booked again for our repeat visit. Highly recommended

If you are thinking Forestis seems too good to be true, then get ready to pinch yourself. After an opulent stay in a large suite in five star hotel on the grand canal in Venice, traveling to Forestis was an eye opener. The attention to detail is unbelievable…. little complimentary snacks that appear by the pool, expertly crafted electrical outlets everywhere you could possibly need in your room, the abundance of elemental surfaces that are exquisite to the touch….and of course that view of the Dolomites. You can check out the many videos that exist online to get a peek, but Mother nature will humble you by constantly recoloring the vista. The abundant detail which hotel has quietly built might get lost amidst the simplicity, but this place will teach you a thing or two about what you can do without in your surroundings, as well as what you need to consider in your next renovation.

The lack of decorative adornments may not be everyones taste, but the luxurious well thought out suites in the tower are pin drop silent and really work well with all the complimentary niceties hidden from view. I was here for three nights in September and they had everything you need and nothing that you don’t. But as much as I enjoyed the rooms and hotel staff, the restaurant is what took the experience to another level. There are two tasting menus that change each night, and the kitchen even allows substitutions (which is does not enforce on the entire table). Dinner is well thought out affair that puts most New York restaurants to shame, which you can enjoy slowly, since you are allocated a specific table for all your meals during the length of your stay. There is never a rush, unless of course you ask for it.

But there is a “but” which goes hand in hand with the experience. Forestis is isolated. Any trip outside requires alpine driving skills. I ventured out a few times, and as I tasted other foods and visited other sites, I questioned more and more…why would anyone ever want to leave Forestis?

Dear Adam CJ indeed, we do not have AC in our Suites. Being located at 1800 metres of altitude normally mornings and evenings are quite cool and it is best to open the windows to let fresh air come in to the rooms. During the days in summer the temperatures can reach up to +-30 degrees on hot days. Kind regards, Günther - Hotel Manager
