A widely-cited destination for trekkers walking the Alta Via 2 trail, this Rifugio is on the corner of the dam at Lago Fedaia. The Castiglioni, though, appears to be struggling to work out whether it is a Rifugio or a Hotel, and seems to fall over in certain areas, which was a disappointment. stayed for dinner, overnight and breakfast while hiking Alta Via no. 2. Friendly staff. Spectacular cellar cut in the rock, The view towards the Marmolada glacier is stunning. Food is very good. Showers and bedding a bit scarce.

We stayed there one night, old but comfortable rooms/beds, no sleeping bag needed. Great view of Marmolada glacier from room windows. BUT lady who is running this refuge can not speak english/german, only italian, what is really strange if you have pension:) But OK, some problem with communication is expected then. Near to the bus and also near to Marmolada...

We arrived here after a long day on the AV2 trail. Had the weather been better, we'd have seen the Mt. Marmolada from our room. The deck behind our room was run down. The windows are old and ratteled all night as a storm blew threw the valley. We had comfortable bunk beds and a small sink in our room....
