We arrived late to this spot. Our GpS was very good, there is no way we would have found it by ourselves. The owner didn't want us to arrive late but she did wait up is to arrive. The room we got was the oldest for sure. It definitely needs to be up dated but it was comfortable. Again bring...

Heart of Toscana like a post card, in the middle of vine yards, olive trees and cypress. At 4km from the village, the place is very quiet, with several and various areas where you can rest or eat in privacy. Fabrizzio gives lot of good advices for visiting the region, chosing restaurant or buying local products. His wine and olive...

The location of Pogetto was great for exploring the nearby countryside and towns and had a fantastic view, however, we were very disappointed in the accommodation. We found it warn, tired and very pricey for what we got. We also found our introduction to our kitchen - in a cupboard absurd. Also be warned to carefully read the contract they...

We loved staying at Poggetto and we have become regular guests. The road getting here is a bit "rough", but that was expected as most roads area are like this. The hospitality was extraordinary. The rooms - we stayed in different apartments, are clean and exactly what we expected for an agriturismo. The views are to dream of and the...

We just left Poggetto and wanted to share some tips to help the next visitors. First, you will need a car to even get to this place. The place is 1.7 kilometers off the main road and it's a very rough potholed road that should not be traveled at night as it is not paved. Once there, the surrounding area...

Nice people, beautiful views, don't try to find it in the dark. The accommodations are adequate, but a little worn. The location in Tuscany is perfect for access to all that the area has to offer. Don't miss trying their estate made wine and olive oil.

We stayed at Poggetto 6 nights in a lovely fully equipped apartment, with living room, bedroom, bathroom, kitchenette, our own outdoor garden. The farm is located in the beautiful Chianti area of Tuscany and was close to all the hilltop walled cities we wanted to get to, plus a number that were off the beaten track and that we thoroughly...

My husband and I stayed at this agriturismo as part of a trip around Tuscany. This was by far the best accommodation during our stay, and offered great value for money. The location is idyllic in the chianti valley, with the restored old farm surrounded by the owners vineyards and olive trees. But the agriturismo is also conveniently only 5-10...

We stayed in the Il Melo room at this beautiful farmhouse and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. For a price much less than most other agriturismo's in the region we were able to experience the beautiful Tuscan countryside and hospitality. This is a central location, the hosts are delightful, and their Organic Wine and Organic Olive Oil is to die for....

I guess the best review you can give someone is to say you will be back. Well, we are already planning a return stay at this location for next year. The owners were phenomenal, the location is great with easy to get to cities like Florence, Siena, Greve and Castellina itself. The rooms are amazing and up to date, the...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Poggetto is a Farmhouse in Tuscany, in the famous Chianti region. The building is over 300 years old and had been completely renovated and restored by its owners who reside, year round, at the property. The property is surrounded by over 1500 olive trees and has a beautiful, 3 ha vineyard. Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil and precious “Chianti Classic” Wines are produced on the farm and can be purchased directly from the owners.Since 2010 Poggetto turned to Green energy: a large solar plant is supplying electricity to the property. A large swimming-pool (size: 14 x 6 meters - 45' x 18 ') with deck chairs, umbrellas and a coffee bar, flowers around and with a beautiful panoramic view.Lunch or dinner is available for our guests upon request.During the high and medium season (April through September), apartments are rented by week. Shorter stays are welcome during the off season. For the convenience to all, arrival and departures during the high and medium season is on Saturday.Poggetto is located close to the historical cities of Siena, Florence, San Gimignano and Volterra. The Farmhouse has only three apartments to rent, therefore privacy and a perfect relaxation are guaranteed for people who want to get away from the crowd. All apartments have Sat TV, free WiFi connection, fax is available in the office. The small, charming village of Castellina in Chianti, with shops and restaurants, is only 5 km from Poggetto, 23 km from Siena, 35 km from Florence, 25 km from San Gimignano, 35 km from Volterra, 100 km from Pisa and 280 km from Rome. For those interested in golf, an 18-hole golf course is available just outside of Florence (Ugolino) and a smaller 9-hole course is available at Colle Val d’Elsa. Horse back riding is at Staggia Senese, which is only 10 km away.
In order to get to Poggetto, besides flying directly to Rome, Pisa or Milan’s major airports, Florence has a smaller airport connected to most of Europe’s main hubs (Paris, Frankfurt, London etc.) allowing for convenient connections from North America, Asia and other global locations. Budget airlines, such as Ryanair and Easyjet, lately Delta fly to Pisa International Airport, located only 90 km from the farmhouse. ... more   less

“The apartments were on the ground floor as part of the farm house which was very pleasant and convenient. On some farms you are a distance away in another building.”
