The Hotel Belvedere di San Leonino is situated near the 11th century church of the same name and surrounded by vineyards and olive groves, cypress trees and woods. Located in the heart of the Chianti region, the land of the famous Black Rooster wine, it has a splendid 360° panorama stretching from Siena to Monteriggioni, San Gimignano and Volterra over the Elsa valley. Siena is approximately 15 minutes away, Florence and San Gimignano 50 minutes, the Tyrrhenian coast, Lucca and Pisa little more than an hour away. Many of our guests use Belvedere di San Leonino as a base for their daily trips to the coast, and Tuscany and Umbria's historical towns and museums. Others prefer to rest in the quiet and peaceful Tuscan hills here in all their famed beauty. Belvedere di San Leonino offers 28 rooms with authentic furniture in rustic tuscan style, terracotta floors and old beamed ceilings. Each room has a private bathroom, minibar, satellite TV and a dial-out telephone. A beautiful garden, large outdoor swimming pool in a panoramic position and private parking are available to guests. Our staff speaks English, German, French and Dutch. Arrivederci a Belvedere di San Leonino !

What a pleasure to have such a nice hotel staff. They were without any exception so happy, so kind, so helpful. Special mention to Asia for her professionalism during our email reservation : quick, responsive, precise. The first impression was already great. Special mention also to Nadia. She loves her job and you see it. Young, dynamic, ...really great. Same satisfaction with the team of the bar, the restaurant, the breakfast buffet, the cleaning ladies... The plus points of the hotel are the location of the hotel (15 min from Siena, Monteriggiori, Castellina, 35 min San Gemigniano, 50 min Val d'Orsia, Pienza ( our favorite), one hour Firenze, 10 min from the famous Mazzei winery), the restaurant and its sunset terrace ( it would be perfect if suggestions of the day would be proposed everyday), the swimming pool ( is there a better view on the Chianti hills : breathtaking).
I would not recommend rooms 24&25 too close from the breakfast buffet (personnel arrives at 6.30), and 21&22 ( the garden watering system is activated at 7 for 15 minutes). Don't worry for the road; it's very calm.
Also, don't forget that the Chianti hills reach more than 600 m altitude and evenings could be cool if there is a little bit of wind.
We had a wonderful stay of 5 nights.

True Tuscan hospitality at its finest!! I am still here and couldn’t wait to share my love for this hotel!! ❤️ It’s rating of 4 stars is modest… it deserves a 7 star rating. The property is stunning and so well manicured. There are flowers at every turn. The beautiful terrace and patio have some of the best views in Chianti. The pool is stunning as you look over the hills and vineyards. If you want to use the hot tub one can make an appointment at the front desk free of charge during your stay. The rooms are so clean and beds are very comfortable. The bathrooms are quite large and are the bedrooms. There is a plentiful breakfast that awaits you every morning with so many options. Check in a breeze. The most special part of our stay are the staff. There is nothing that they won’t do for you. Pleasant and so personal they make everyday day special. The food was some of the best we have had in Chianti. A fabulous bar with great wine choices and an array of cocktails. Thank you Giulia, Milaim, Flamur and chef extra Emanuel. A talent in the kitchen and his entire team. Thankfully we still have so be week here. Please don’t stay anywhere else. This is a treat.

We had an absolutely lovely stay at this small boutique hotel in Tuscany! The setting is wonderful, beautiful views of the Tuscan countryside at every turn. The grounds were immaculate and beautifully appointed with flowers. The service here is outstanding, from the reception, to the housekeeping, and fantastic waitstaff at the bar and restaurant. We were greeted with a surprise upgraded room overlooking the pool and Tuscan countryside, one of the most beautiful views from any room we have ever stayed at! The room was very large, including the bathroom, and exceptionally clean and well appointed. The food was so good that we ate at the hotel restaurant Il Cortile all three nights. Don’t miss the vegetarian antipasti, the presentation (and taste) is exceptional. Very good wine recommendations from the waitstaff for fantastic local Chianti wines. The breakfast room was lovely and the food was excellent with many choices. Too chilly for a swim but we did have a lovely, quiet afternoon by the pool enjoying the traditional Spritz.

Christina and Nadia will provide excellent concierge services. They arranged taxi service to and from Siena for an easy day trip. The hotel is a bit far from Castellina In Chianti so you will need a car or they can arrange a taxi.

We can’t say enough about how much we enjoyed our stay at this lovely Tuscan farmhouse boutique hotel! We will be back for sure!

Gorgeous setting overlooking the Tuscan vineyards! We stayed for two nights and enjoyed this lovely inn with its dedicated restaurant. The food was perhaps the best we had while in Italy.
On their website, they offer four categories of room levels (Basic, Classic, Superior and Exclusive). We opted for the Superior figuring we’d be able to relax and settle in for our stay. The website did not include a description of what each level entails. When we were shown our superior room on the second floor, I was floored! It was tiny and offered one small window. The photo of their basic room had a sofa. Our superior room’s only other seating was a ladder back chair at the tiny desk.
I let the young lady at reception know I was dissatisfied and she offered us a choice of two other rooms at no additional charge. Having the patio in our new room made all the difference.
We really enjoyed our stay but their room categories should on their website should explain how each category gets assigned.

Coming here for 14 years, still very comfortable and an overall good feeling. Rooms are always updated, nice pool area and cozy outdoor restaurant in the quiet backyard of the premises. Employees are super friendly and assist in organizing outings and restaurant reservations

Exactly what we wanted in a Tuscan agritourismo. The on-site restaurant was great - we ate there 2 of our 3 nights. Breakfast was varied and plentiful. The staff was very helpful, the views were beautiful, and the location was convenient for touring around Chianti. Would recommend it!

My husband and I have just returned from a week in this stunning hotel. The setting is beautiful, the views are spectacular and the staff are beyond amazing! The staff cannot do enough for you! From the cleaning in the rooms, the welcome at reception and the staff waiting on you for breakfast, lunch and dinner, they are all just wonderful. It really was fantastic. The location is quiet and a car is needed to get to restaurants nearby. There aren’t a great of restaurants in the town either. We stayed for 8 night and ate in for 4 of those, but there wasn’t a huge selection of restaurants nearby to choose from. But for a quiet relaxing stay I would definitely recommend this hotel.

My one and only criticism for this hotel would be to mix the dinner menu up a bit. It’s not a huge menu and it doesn’t change at all. A greater variety or just to change it would definitely be of benefit.

Overall we had a fab week and really enjoyed our stay. Made our week in Tuscany just perfect, thank you!

This hotel was absolutely beautiful! The food and wine were excellent! I would highly recommend staying here if visiting Chianti. The view from our room was breathtaking, and we spent a late afternoon enjoying one of their wines watching the sunset.

To be honest i visited this hotel also ca 3 years ago.
The location of the Hotel is right near to the road, but actually it does not really disturb makes it the hart of tuscany area !
The Hotel area (because it`s not correct to say hotel, the location is not a huge but it`s nicely shared to different levels and parts of interest and activities).
Im not sure it`s boutique hotel but i think it will be the right specification.
They are doing god job traditional way.
The place is even fine to not leave it a couple of days.
As the house is quite historical so the rooms are quite similar size, it is not the fancy place but place with passion and history.
They have nice garden around, nice pool, they serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, they have nice bar and wine corner.
In this time i was specially surprised of breakfast.
You choose all you want ant they serve nicely everything, perfect.
Nice place to stay if you have time !

This sweet little hotel looked as if it were taken out of a fairytale. We came with our daughter and her husband and their two children. There was plenty of room for the kids to run around. My husband and I just had a regular room but my daughter had a huge family suite. Both had beautiful outside sitting areas. The restaurant was superb! We had made reservations at other places as well but would have been happy to eat here every night. It was a good base for us as we toured to the north and south. The staff could not have been any nicer. They even called my daughter one morning that she was running late for breakfast to make sure she was coming. I would love to go back one day and I would definitely stay here again!

Hi will we need a car to stay in the area? How far are you from Pisa airport?
Answer from CHIANTIHOTELS
Hi, we usually suggest to rent a car because we are in the country side and we are not well connected by public transports. We are approximately 1 hour and half from Pisa airport.
Answer from CHIANTIHOTELS
Dear Kara, with pleasure we will send , we kindly ask you to send us an email to be able to send you the Information requested. Waiting to give you our best hospitality.
Answer from CHIANTIHOTELS
Dear Sharon, Our hotel is situated in the country-side at 12 km from Siena. To visit the Palio it is neccesary to go by car. Eventually You can leave the car in the village of Lornano and go by bus, as parking in that day will be very difficult. Looking forward to meet You, we send our best greetings, Marco
