Had a wonderful stay at the Blue Bay. Booked a double room but were upgraded to the apartment which was a nice surprise. Very comfortable King size bed, air conditioning and the quiet location meant no problem sleeping. Rooms and the common areas are kept immaculately clean. Hotel is located above its own small private beach. Beach loungersare free as are the kayaks and pedallos which were fun. Beach is stoney so water shoes a must. Water is crystal clear so take a snorkel and mask and swim with the fishes. Breakfast is excellent with a good selection of fresh pastries ,fruit and some savouries. Hotel is family run and the staff are all so friendly. Hotel has a small bar with terrace and view over the beautiful bay and although they dont dont do food will order you a takeaway pizza or other fast food options if you need them. Alternative is a short walk to the hotel overlooking the next bay which does does have a restaurant or a 15-20 minute walk downhill into Cefalu. A taxi is 10 -15 € depending on which end of town. Definitely worth it on the way back. There are plenty of restaurants and bars in Cefalu our favourites being La Brace, Triscile,

We stayed here in September, and were wary of going on holiday during the current Coronavirus pandemic. We need not have worried. The hotel is kept scrupulously clean, and there is so much space, with the large individual terraces and private beach, there is plenty of room for everyone. The hotel looks out over the bay and the views are beautiful. The pebble beach has loungers and umbrellas, floating sun loungers, kayaks and a pedalo which are free to use by the hotel guests, all good fun. The water is crystal clear, you don’t even need a snorkel to see the fish! The hotel will order in takeaway pizza etc if you don’t want to leave the hotel to eat, and there is a bar where you can sit outside and enjoy the views. Alternatively, you can walk to the next hotel for a light lunch, or to the Tavernatta restaurant on the marina before you get into Cefalù, which is good. Cefalù is about 20 mins walk and is a really pretty town with lots of restaurants and bars and little shops. You may need to book the more popular restaurant’s especially with the limited seating now. A really lovely stay.

What a view of the sea to wake up to! We stayed for 2 nights and made use of the private beach during the day. Plenty of beach chairs, canoe, water lounge chairs and other water equipment to enjoy.

There is one air conditioner in the main room but I wish there would be another in the bedroom as it was hard to sleep at night in the heat.

The restaurant is run by very friendly local staff. We only speak English and they made effort to understand us. We enjoyed the buffet range and lunch from 12-2pm with pasta and pizza options. You don’t need to leave the hotel during the day!

During each evening we took the 15-20 min walk into Cefalù town. The walk is easy but make sure to bring a fan and wear loose clothing and supportive shoes as it is very humid and hot in August. There is the beautiful and charming port beach and lots of restaurants and people watching in town.

The hotel is really nice and spotless clean with so much space. Each room has a large individual terrace and access to a private beach. Breakfast is available every morning and the choice is varied and fresh. The hotel looks out over the bay and the views are magnificent. The pebble beach has sun loungers and umbrellas, floating sun loungers, kayaks and pedalos which are available for use by the hotel guests. The water is crystal clear and a nice temperature.
There is a bar on site for relaxing and taking in the magnificent views. Cefalu is s 15/20 min walk away. Fabio and the team were more that helpful in assisting us throughout our stay.

Family run hotel that is great value for the money. Not pretentious, they make you feel right at home. Located on a small bay on back side of La Rocca in Cefalu. Have their own private beach area. No restaurant per se but they do have a bar that services the beach and serve breakfast in the morning. Rooms are spacious, contain a kitchenette, would be great if traveling with a family. Each room has a wonderful view of the bay and ocean, with a large balcony. All in all a hard value to beat. Only downside is you have to walk into Cefalu, about 25 minutes away. We usually opted to take a taxi back, which was about a 5 minute ride or 10-14 Euro. A great place to set up for some time in a Sicilian paradise!

We had a great 3 day stay in Cefalu Blue Bay. It is an unconventional layout set along a hillside overlooking a bay just east of the town of Cefalu.
Every room faces the bay with absolutely drop dead stupendous sea views. You may have a sizable private or shared deck. The first floor is beneath the reception area/ parking lot and the second floor is below that. In all there are five levels with the fifth level just above the small beach which lays at the bottom of the compound.
Please be advised that there are NO elevators and this is not a suitable locale for guests with significant mobility issues.
The first level is not that far away from the road but we heard virtually nothing from the road.
Breakfast was generous and tasty. Only complaint is the espresso came out of a self serve machine. Better then nothing but the last thing I want to have in Italy is the equivalent of instant coffee.
The furnishings are sparse and what would have been nice would have been some type of drawers to store clothing outside of our suitcases.
If you would like to go to the beach, I would advise bringing water shoes as the beach is mostly rocky and only a small portion has sand. Unfortunately during our stay, some of the guests took the hotel provided water shoes to their rooms so that no other guests had access! Such selfish behavior! The hotel does provide kayaks, paddle boards, and paddle boats which are anchored very close to shore.
There is a limited snack bar close to the beach and a bar at the top of the hill near the reception.
It is all of a 20 minute walk to the edge of town. The walk is picturesque and easily doable if you don’t mind the modest hills.
If you dine in the center of town and chose to walk, a taxi return would be advisable if you return in the dark.
The people working here couldn’t have been nicer. A shout out to Fabio who was very attentive to our requests and went out of his way to insure a pleasant stay for us.

We had a wonderful time here, i.e. my parents, my girlfriend and I. My parents keep coming back to this place, I think it was their 6th time. For my girlfriend and me, it was the first time and we immediately fell in love with the place. At Blue Bay you'll have your own apartment with a huge terrace to enjoy the view of the sea and its sunrises and sunsets. Elio, Rossano, Fabio, Grazia and the other staff members are genuine persons; helpful, open-hearted, and courteous who make you feel at home instantly. The place is a few minutes away from the center of Cefalù but it is easy to reach, either by a short walk or by car. Ask Elio and his team to give you some inside informations about the surroundings and the best places to visit/eat etc. they'll be happy to advise you so that you'll get the most out of your stay. I am already looking forward to visiting Bluebay Cefalu again. Grazie mille!

Everything was almost perfect.
Great location, big beautiful rooms with huge terraces, nice beach.
There are 2 things we did not like about this hotel. 1. There is a bald man at breakfast( wearing black) that controls everything what you take and he does it in a very very annoying way. He looks at people like saying “ don’t take that” very annoying. I don’t understand why the hotel does such a thing, that man does nothing else that checking that the guests don’t take more than needed.
2. We bought to rent 2 towels, because they give a paper at the check in that says you need to pay for towels. It was “not allowed “ to use the towels from the room. When we went to the beach almost everybody had a towels from the room, when I told this to the reception they said “ people get smart “ that is the worst answer you can give to a guest.
So a a good tip “ be smart “ and don’t pay for towels, because it’s not necessary.

Booked a holiday for summer of 20 had to cancel because of COVID. Paid up front £900 for 5 days. Hotel kindly extended to following year for July. We had booked and paid for 5 nights. Rebooked flights and was preparing to go when 5 day isolation period was introduced for going to Italy. We tried to speak with hotel to get a refund but they refused as we had paid all money up front on a non refundable basis. We asked them to extend for us as how could we come to The hotel for 5 nights when we had to isolate for 5 days !!!!! They refused and said we can only go there up until the October, that is as much as they would extend it to. We could not go at this time due to other commitments and work. We lost all of our hard earnt £900.00 which was very upsetting. We were so looking forward to visiting Sicily and this hotel. We could not understand why they could not extend for us especially as the whole world was struggling with COVID, they already had all our money in their bank and Italy was not making it easy to travel there or if you did you had to isolate for 5 days. Why would anyone go there if you were there for less than a week !!
This was not the worst thing of the whole experience. It was the disgusting attitude of the management that we spoke with and their tone. No compassion or sympathy at all.

We experienced a wonderful stay @ this property. If you’re looking for personalized, attentive service with a picture perfect location & relaxing atmosphere, this is the property for you. The accommodations were immaculate upon check-in. There is free parking on the property-which is fantastic. As others have indicated, to get to town, you either have to walk a bit, or take a taxi. We did take advantage of the included breakfast each morning of our stay & found the offerings to more than satisfy our needs. The entire staff went of their way to make our stay ha top notch experience. Would highly recommend.

How much is it to rent a beach chair if you are staying at Blue Cefalu? And how big are the beach towels?
Answer from Jeanette
Woodside, California42 contributions23 helpful votes
Blue Bay’s private beach for hotel guests has free beach chairs, loungers, beach toys and small boats that you can take out. I think there was a 5 euros charge for the beach towels that were good size. We just kept ours and reused it for our 3 day stay. Returned it on our last day. I would suggest bringing water shoes for the rocks to get into the water. The water is warm, clear and the view is beautiful. Answering your question, makes me want to go back!
