This hotel is located in a very small town at the end of the road in the Valmalenco valley, right near Switzerland. It is run by a family that has been operating the hotel for four generations. Chiareggio is the highest village in Malenco valley. If you look for beautiful view on the mountains, kind hospitality and the best food in Valtellina this is the place. Hotel is family owned and managed, rooms are simple and comfortable, and you feel the typical mountain atmosphere with wooden walls. You can also have family rooms up to six people....

The hotel Chiareggio (also found online as Albergo Chiareggio) is a lovely family run hotel, which is located in the village of Chiareggio. Okay, rooms are not very large and tend to be a tad basic, albeit very clean. The food is excellent, though, and the owners and staff are very friendly (the owner used to be a mountain guide and can advise about hikes, etc.). All in all a very recommendable place.
