Erice is a small hillside town outside of Palermo. I think it is about 3000 feet up in the air. Sometimes you are actually looking down at the clouds. The streets are narrow, and cobblestoned. All adding to the charm of this place. Maria Grammatica...More
Our hearts sank as we drove up the winding road to the beautiful hilltop town of Erice as the mist came in and almost prevented our access. Not to be deterred we made it to the visitor's car park (it would appear that visitors have...More
We were told to come to Erice with its exceptional views over Trapani and the sea.

First, no you cannot drive to the hotel. Hotel staff meet you at the gate to the city. You can park there for a daily or weekly rate. However parking is very limited. Better of prearranging with the hotel to drive to a designated resident parking on the perimeter road. Then they drive you and your luggage right to the front door. Yes there is ac but you will not need it. Yes there are rooms with a view of Trapini and the sea, also room with view of the inner court. Our room overlooked the street. Quiet time after the tour groups leave. Then, very peaceful.
