My husband and I spent a relaxing weekend at the Silva Hotel Splendid in March. Hotel check-in staff were courteous, and check in was easy. The elevators up to the the rooms are small and slow; after getting our luggage up to our room on the 4th floor, we just walked the stairs the rest of our stay. Our room was comfortable and spacious. There is a mini-fridge but no hot kettle or coffee maker in the room. Breakfast was included in our room charge, and offered a good selection of hot and cold items, coffee and fruit. Robe, towel, shower shoes and cap are provided for each guest in the room, but you are requested to use them for the entire stay. Really wished you could get a clean, dry towel with each trip to the spa (the robe I didn't mind using the entire time.). The spa staff was helpful, and our massages that we scheduled were really relaxing and reasonably priced. The one issue I had with the thermal pools and facilities was the temperature of the waters. The sauna and thermal pool on the bottom floor were tepid at best; the facilities on the second level were a little warmer, and the outdoor thermal pool was not warm at all. The pools and facilities are clean and a little confusing to find, but other than that, we enjoyed our stay and had a relaxing time at the spa. The little town is charming and full of cafes and stores that you can walk to from the hotel. Silva Hotel Splendid was a nice place to relax at a reasonable price.

A small city with thermal water, even Michelangelo came here to heal his kidney stones. Hotel itself has very nice quiet rooms with a balcony and a nice view. Excellent spa situated in several levels, heated outdoor pool, saunas, inner hot pool, relax zones. The food was excellent, we had a gala dinner with a live band playing, several courses and a very professional and caring waiter. Italian coffee and large offer of pastry for breakfast (and lots more) was great. I will certainly come back.

This was our third visit to Hotel Silva which acts as a base for 7 days cycling in the wonderful Central Apennine mountain range.
The location is superb for cycling or walking, the rooms are clean and tidy and the meals are varied and of a high standard. Staff are extremely friendly and accommodating.
For those cycling, look beyond the route maps provided by the hotel as there are many routes to suit all abilities and all on good roads with few (if any) cars.
A bike garage keeps your bike secure and there a re a few tools. If you have problems, the staff will do their best to assist.
I've seen some of the photos attached to reviews and in my opinion they do not reflect the quality of the hotel. If I had a problem, the hotel would have sorted it out without a quibble.
I thoroughly recommend this as a base for cyclists whatever their requirements or abilities.

The hotel was fully priced. Rooms fine but a/c very poor. But the worst bit is the service. Bar / restaurant / breakfast staff all very poor. A 15 minute wait for a beer - and rude service at the same time. And asked for a cappuccino three times at breakfast before I finally got one. They are either under staffed or badly trained. Very poor. Cannot recommend.

Very bad customer service especially at the reception. They are absolutely not collaborative and difficult to deal with.
Very poor value for money.
Only infrastructure save them from getting a 1.
Room service personnel and maids are instead very excellent.
Overall they speak very little English

We are from Russia and really wanted to visit Italy. Decided to go to
Fiuggi, as described in enternet- one of the most wonderful places in Italy. We liked the town. It is nice, full of fresh air, calm. in general we liked it. We also liked one of the thermal park Bonifacio in it. The park very is nice, full of flowers. As for the weather: one week was hot but another was cold. As for the hotel itself in general it corrseponds to 4 *, the rooms are comfortable, cleaned every day, there is nice swimming pool. As for the food we liked Italian menu, unfortunatelly russian guide Irina was one week away and we had to translate ourselves the menu that was in Italian and we had to purchase dictionary to understand the words, we do not know
Italian. We were the only Russians in the hotel, suppose in the whole
town. In the hotel the service personnel mainly speak italian, animation was only in Italian language, so we understood nothing. We did not like the information desk that was in the hotel about bus schedule because it did not correspond to the real situation. For example: we wanted a lot to go to the sea. Irina- our guide told us to look this schedule and that it corresponded to the reality, on it we found direct bus from Fuiggi to Terrachina (sea coast), we believed her. But at bus station where they sell tickets we found that there was no direct bus, we had to change bus in Frosinone, once
again we precised with Irina and she said that the schedule in the hotel was correct, Ok we believed her, bought tickets and early in the morning came to bus station but there was no bus, we had to go first to Frosinone, ok we did not mind to change one bus. But when we came to Frosinone we were told that there was no direct bus also, we had to change the bus again, but the earliest bus was in 2 hours we thought a bit, got cold and decided to return to the hotel because
we had to come back to Fuiggi the same day. We got cold then and i had to go to the doctor, thanks God one woman talked English and she helped me to come to the doctor and he prescribed me inhalations. But
the most awful thing was that because of the hotel's driver (service)
we were late to our back flight. We paid to the hotel for transfer so
we were in time for our plane. We paid Silva Splendid about 200 euro,
they assured us that we would be in airport maximum at 9.30 a.m., our
flight was at 11.00 am so we had plenty of time. More over we came to
the hotel also by car and liked it. In the morning we were really surprised when saw a car, it was old and produced strange noise while
driving. More over we were stuck in a traffic jam for about 2 hours, the hotel did not tell us that it can appear such situation although they arranged transfer a lot for other tourists. So as a result we were late to our flight. We had to buy new tickets at our expense because could not change our tickets freely, there was such a clause in our plane tickets. Just imagine the situation: you are in a foreign country, your entrance visa expires in several hours and you are late for your flight. Thanks God we had money on our credit card and it took us 40 minutes to find free places for the flight we came frome one airlines to other. It was our Airlines (Aeroflot) that we bought tickets. We took tickets for 23.05 (11.05 p.m.) - was the only
direct earliest flight to Moscow from Rome. so we had to spend a whole day in Rome airport. We were really happy when came back to Moscow. I will never go to this hotel, because they let us down.

We had a great time here in Fiuggi. The Silva splendid has one of the best SPA you can find around. We were really impressed by the food, the have a very reasonable buffet for 30€ all you can eat with great quality. The room was ok, we rented a large, but all my stars go to the Spa. It is really beautiful and cozy at the same time, we also had a couple massage which was outstanding. They have free parking with valet, not very often you can find this in Italy. We will definitely go back!

We were based in this Hotel on a Travel Department Tour. I cannot praise the staff enough especially the Reception staff and the Maitre D , Stefano. They went out of their way to make us feel welcome. For Stefano nothing was too much trouble his service was exceptional.
The rooms are spacious, the Spa is wonderful so relaxing. The food was varied and plentiful ,both Breakfast and Dinner up to a very high standard. It is a distinguished hotel with lovely relaxing couches throughout the ground floor. Although Fuiggi is a quiet place, Fuiggi Citta , is wonderful , a small bus takes you up for a euro it's a hilltop village with lovely restaurants and cobbled narrow streets and fantastic views . In all well worth going. Stay at the Silva if you do.

This hotels is extremely out-dated and worned out, and the staff is anachronistically rigid (a genuine smile and a simple, warm "welcome to Fiuggi!" would have helped!). The food at the restaurant is a disgrace to the normally wonderful Italian kitchen, made completely without love or knowledge of how to handle food. Generally, this is so much below normal European standard, and I wish that the management would make a trip outside Fuiggi to visit some international hotel chains to learn what it requires to live up to modern service and standards in this millennium. I am sure that this hotel has potential, but a revolution is needed before it is too late.
Before visiting the Silva Hotel Splendid, I had never experienced such a mismatch between expectations and reality. With 4 stars and tons of great reviews, we thought that we could not go wrong. But we did.
However, the newly built spa is exquisite and may proof that the management after all has understood the need of a huge renovation. My advice is therefore: Do not stay at this hotel until it has been renovated and changed dramatically. Visit only the spa.

Stayed here for 3 nights and had a really pleasant stay, efficent check in, room was spotlessly clean and bed was really comfortable. While my time spent in the hotel was really only limited to sleeping and having breakfast my overall impression was of very friendly staff who always had time for a smile and a greeting. Breakfast is more than adequate with a good variety of food options.
