This is definitely a budget 2-star hotel, as the rooms are very basic and there aren't many amenities. That said, for the price, our overall experience was good and we have no specific complaints. The breakfast was average, but it was a nice touch to...More
I cannot praise this hotel and its staff enough. It has a perfect location overlooking the lake. Breakfast had a good choice (both hot and cold). You were able to either eat in the dining room or take a tray and sit by the lake...More
We wanted to spend some time in early spring at the Lago di Garda, Italy, and booked a small family hotel at very affordable prices.

The Ancora along with a few other hotels/bars/restaurants is on a pedestrianised cobbled lake front with only taxis allowed in the vicinity. There is a carpark about 800 yards from the hotel, maybe slightly more. Go as if you are driving out of Garda towards Malcestine. As you almost leave the town the carpark is down on your left. Its frequently patrolled by police and short stay. (2 hours maybe). Can't remember how many euros an hour it is. Once you reach the Ancora they will re-direct you to an underground carpark that is more long stay. Hope this helps! Tracy
