We had another great stay at the Mediterraneo this summer, probably the 4th time we are going back. As always service and friendliness of staff and management exceeded our expectations, a very warm welcome and eagerness to accommodate our needs. Great surprise for the newly refurbished room we stayed in and the swimming pool area, it was more that comfortable and relaxing stay. Breakfast room with stunning views, the offering could use a bit of an upgrade though. Ideal stay, to explore the surrounding area of Sestri, Cavi and Lavagna, or even head out to Cinque Terre if you rent a car - as the car park is massive and offered for free. What a great place and great value for money, we will definitely go back soon!

We booked this hotel to pass a few days while we waited for the traghetto to Palermo. We enjoyed it immensely. The rooms are not fancy but comfortable with lovely views to the sea. For anyone with mobility issues there is an elevator directly from parcheggio below, to all floors and pool level. You are off the main road yet easy to arrive to the seaside, restaurants and public transport. Large and safe parking area. Colazione was great and taken overlooking the sea. The pool area is where we stayed for almost the entire stay. The acquagym class was fun! We will definitely return

We recently spent 10 nights at this hotel and we are satisfied. Very good and diversified breakfast, very clean rooms, pleasant swimming pool, courteous and professional staff, in detail, Filippo helping during meals. The city of Cavi is disappointing but Sestri is a stone's throw from here. Definitely recommended !

We stayed 2 nights and travel around the coast, especially Cinque Terre. We chose to stay at Lavagna as a base to move around, avoiding the crowds in Cinque Terre. So we drive to Levanto train station and traveled by train. The hotel looks very nice up front facing the sea. It was clean and inviting, but the rooms were in the need of a renovation. Beds were uncomfortable. Bathroom was very small. The breakfast was good for Italian hotels. It wasn’t the best accomodation but I can’t complain much we enjoyed our stay.

We had a lovely time here. Very basic hotel but great staff, Barbara deserves extra thanks for being so warm towards us. Pool is small but a nice place to chill if you don't want the busy beach. Well located to visit the rest of the coast but a 10 min walk to a good restaurant.

We stayed in the hotel 18/21 August instead of planned 18/25 as our girl got strong skin reaction of sea water. We paid all amount (7nights) instead of 3nights. We have been explained as it is due to Booking.com policy. After my e.mail to owner it was confirmed that is due to Hotel internal policy:)))) I don’t think 600 € will help build business better, but for sure respect to client problem is missing... Such experience says many things about business model and trust! Birute, Lithuania

We returned again this year after first discovering last summer. In terms of value this a great hotel, located close to both Sestri, Rapallo and Cinque Terre without their prices. Most of the rooms have sea views and the rate comes with free parking and a very good breakfast. The free wifi was dodgy but the AC was amazing and we needed it. We were given a roof top room which has a massive terrace and amazing view point of the sea and entire coast. Sadly the window's electric outdoor canopy was not working so we couldn't sit outside during the day as we would roast from the sun, there is no cover nor shade. We told the owner of the issue and were offered to move us as they didn't know when the motor could be fixed or replaced but we decided to stay because of the amazing star gazing and 'Red Moon' views we had at night.

We were there for 2 nights. Cavi di Lavagna is a very small town and "quiet" at night. If you want some actions, you have to go to the next town. Hotel is lovely with friendly/helping staff. Room not spacious but clean with a balcony facing the ocean. Nice pool area. Would definitively go back.

It was a very pleasant surprise, a 1950s gem in the heart of Italian Riviera, just 3 kilometers from Sestri Levante and 1 hour drive from Cinque Terre. Service was excellent, staff very friendly and proactive, ready to help with any query. Breakfast at a lovely terrace overlooking the sea with a good continental breakfast buffet. Views from all rooms are just stunning, overlooking the sea and stretching from Portofino to Sestri Levante. The only thing was that the room need a bit of updating, for example the bedspreads and definitely the bathroom/ shower door which can be a challenge. Overall great experience and good value for money, we would definitely go back to Mediterraneo, great budget hotel in the heart of Italian Riviera.
