We stayed at the Blu Hotel over the Easter weekend. What a lovely find and we so glad that we picked this as our base to explore the area of Cinque Terre and Portofino. Lavagna is a small local town popular with the locals and not so touristy. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk from the train station where there is a regular service to explore the surrounding areas. We are so pleased that we did not stay in any of the tourist towns. Fabrizio and Rosario are great hosts. Wonderful breakfast with delicious home baked cakes/breads. The hotel is small, located on the marina and has a lovely terrace where you can relax and have an apero with more home made goodies. Thank you for a great stay. We would most certainly book again.
Small hotel with very clean lines yet stylish design with excellent owners/hosts and personalized touches. Wonderful breakfast in the AM, with assortment of pastries, nice cheeses, eggs as you like them and homemade tarts, cakes, etc. Great location across from the marina, 10-12 minute walk to the Lavagna train station. So very close access to Camogli, Sestri Levante, Cinque Terre by train. Stayed for a week and got to know the owners who moved from Milan and have a lot of style. Very good value.
The hotel is clean and modern and the owners are very welcoming and helpful. The terrace and garden overlook the marina. Lavagna is not the prettiest of towns in that region but it is a useful base for visiting Genoa or the Cinque Terre towns by train. If we return to this region we will be sure to come back to the Blu Hotel.
I have now been using this hotel for the last 7 months on a regular basis. My first visit was fantastic and since then the attention to detail and hospitality is second to none. They do a fantastic varied breakfast and from the most delicious scrambled egg ever or fresh fruit , yoghurts, cereal etc etc. No afternoon or evening meal but that is fine for most as there are so many places to eat nearby and most people are exploring the beautiful area rather than business like myself . In the evening they have on offer a great range of wines or aperitif’s which they present to you with the most exquisite canapés. Some rooms have balconies overlooking the nearby marina which is a great view with the sunset.
we(my wife and myself) have stayed 2 nights at this beatifull Boutique Hotel in Lavagna ; and enjoyed from every moment. the owners are extremely welcoming and friendly and they have decorated their hotel in a very charming way. the first contact at the reception was warm and the room is very nice. (# 103 recommended) nice furniture with a large balcony overlooking the Lavagna Marina. the breakfast is good ; fresh fruits with a good coffee ; fresh bread and warm homemade cake served in the lovely garden by the wife of the owner who is also the talented decorator of that 'pearl". The only "small"minus is the wif fi connection wich is not the best ... Lavagna itself is not an amazing place in the riviera ; but it is very close to all the most amazing spots along the coast ... the owner of the place will give you helpfull tips where to go and how to reach it in the best conditions . I m travelling a lot and stayed in many many places but this is definitevely one of my very best . do not miss it.…
