Inexepensive, clean and tidy, modern hotel. Very well situated for the 'Il Castello' - the national museum of Abruzzo, and the main town. All modern comforts included. Recommended to all types of guests. Next to a fantastic fountain which also serves as a roundabout. English language is a little hit and miss but staff are very friendly and do try to help, if you can explain what you need.

Our room was clean and modern, clearly recently redecorated, and quiet, despite being on the main road. The bathroom was a little dated in the style but still comfortable. Breakfast included some fresh bakery products which were a nice addition to the standard prepackaged sweets. Ideal for business but also good for tourists for its perfect location in the city center and the friendly and helpful staff.

This hotel is well located in the historical center in front of famous “Fontana luminoso” and 2 minutes walk from The Castle and it’s park.
Room clean with the minimum you need. Breakfast good. One concern is related to fact that it could be the time to renew the structure, room, furnitures etc

We have known about this hotel for a long time but just recently stayed there for the first time. We definitely will stay again when we return to L’Aquila. It’s very welcoming, clean, comfortable. Breakfast is enjoyable. Steps to the town center

I was at il Castello as a guest on the 29th and 30th of September 2011. I originally planned to stay also for the night of the 1st of October, but then changed my plans and told the concierge on arrival I would cancel the 3 night. The concierge insisted that I would pay for the 3rd night despite I would not stay there as a guest. A similar situation happened to colleagues of mine staying at the Hotel Federico Secondo in l'Aquila and they were not charged for the night they did not stay. Bottom line, il Castello is managed by thieves, happy to take what is not theirs. I had to stay there because there was a convention in of physicists in town and all other places were taken. Do not make my mistake if you can help it.

Stayed here for a friend's wedding and there was also a festival happening in the city that weekend too.

Will keep it short. Room size is small. For a family with luggage you will struggle to swing a cat. Very basic amenities in the room. No fridge or anything. Water you'd have to purchase from the bar. Tv was tiny and not many channels. Windows of the room was those weird roller type ones. View was of the air con units. Great! When you have the lovely view of the fantastic water fountain roundabout at the front of the hotel, not exactly the view you want.

The bathroom is long and thin and the shower cubicle again very small. Basic amenities here again. Very small and thin towels.

To iron anything, you had to go downstairs and do it in the small bar area, which again was weird.

Breakfast was in a side room with a decent amount of space and was a basic continental but a fairly decent selection.

When leaving they had issues trying to take payments. Had to leave and let them process it as needed to catch a flight back.

Parking is very restricted outside the hotel and to park inside you have to pay extra.

Staff were polite enough to help but sometimes slow to respond. I would look at the other hotels if I come here next time.

At the end of August, my wife and I were walking along the main street in L'Aquila looking for a bar or a cafe. Of course being very early in the morning (around 6am), everything was still shut so we walked in this hotel "Il Castello" facing the Fontana Luminosa to query where we could possibly go.
The guy behind the reception desk immediately made himself available by offering us coffee even though we were not guests at the hotel.
He sat us down at the bar which was still closed, made two beautiful cappuccinos himself and brought over to us croissants from the breakfast room reserved for the paying customers.
We eventually left without asking his name but this wants to be an opportunity to publicly thank him for his priceless kindness and generosity.

The hotel is well located, easily accessible, clean, comfortable. Front desk staff very friendly and helpful.
Breakfast, self-service, with a good balance between salty and sweet foods.
Though not very cheap, the price is somehow fair regarding quality. Room not very big, with double bed and bunk bed. Functional and clean.
A note should be made to wi-fi which didn't work at all. Although connected, had no internet access.

I stayed for a week at this hotel during a business travel. It is a simple, clean wit very reasonable prices. The breakfast was just ok, the rooms are clean, tv small with only speaking channels. No restaurant for dining. What is not so good is the free internet at rooms - signal is too weak, had to go to the lobby area for connection. The other issue was the shower space is too small at bathroom. The rooms in front to the “Fountain” get some noises from people getting around til late night.
Again, price is good, clean, limited services and with some downsides (some of them could be fixed).

Good location, garage disposeable (10 euros per night) clean rooms.
Staff not perfectly organized but kind and polite. Breakfast was not so rich, but of good quality: again however one single guy to serve all rooms, so a bit confusonary.
