In the USA this would be considered a motel rather than a hotel. In fairness to the place, I am comparing it to motel style facilities and gave it a 5. It is on a fairly busy street, but if you get a room in the back. you have a better view. It is a short drive into the center of L'Aquila. Good location for visiting the country side. Beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was good. I thought the restaurant was poor for dinner and reviewed it separately.

This hotel an amazing bargain! We only paid 65 Euros (at the end of June) and it was spotlessly clean. They recently renovated some of their rooms and they are beautiful. We stayed in Parigi (each of their rooms have the names of major cities). Our room had a great canopy type bed and a dark hardwood floor. The bathroom was giant compared to normal European standards. There was a large shower and the sink fixtures were very modern. I really can't describe how great this room was.

The hotel has a shuttle to and from the train station and the city so even though it is about 4 KM outside of L'Aquila, it is still very worth it to stay there. The owner of the hotel was very nice and gave us a large packet of maps of Abruzzo and L'Aquila, literature about the city, skiing information, and various other pamphlets. He was very helpful during breakfast (which was included) and got us everything we could have needed.

Overall, the staff and rooms of this hotel are excellent and I would definitely suggest it to anyone going to L'Aquila.

Very clean, friendly, family run hotel. Only about 30 rooms, all of them are individually themed. We stayed in Praga which had a japanese theme with a low bed. We asked for more pillows, which were delivered to the room straight away. The bathroom was well equipped with a "designer" suite and had a shower pod with body jets - much better than expected. The room was cleaned and linen changed daily. There are two restaurants, a small gourmet one that we didn't try, and a larger pizzeria/restaurant with a bar . It was so good we ate there every night. Really good value, large choice of dishes, and attentive service. A large pizza was only 5 euros, and the house wine was very drinkable at 3 euros for a half-carafe. There is a pool for the kids, but it's only small and not heated. The hotel is about 4km from the centre of town, but it's on the Rome side, so easy access from the motorway and good for visiting the hill towns. There is a shuttle bus from the hotel which we should have used because parking in L'Aquila is a nightmare - lots of one way streets and very few parking places. We would really recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area.

I spent 4 days at this hotel during a recent trip to L’Aquila. I found this hotel basic in it’s amenities but it was very comfortable. It is a family run hotel, in which the owners work closely with the other staff. If you are looking for a place to stay in a convenient location with a nice restaurant with a decent breakfast, this may a hotel for you.
Location:
This hotel is about 2 km outside of town. Given that parking is limited in the centre of L’Aquila, this may be convenient for travellers. Although not is the centre, this location is quite convenient and not difficult to access.
Food and Beverage: Restaurant provide a complimentary breakfast and is almost always full for dinner. Best to reserve if you want dinner

During our trip to Italy we decided that we wanted to check out the Abruzzo region and spent three nights at this wonderful hotel. Our impression was that of a family run hotel with impeccable service and amazing food. We stayed in the outside rooms, which was fine for us, because it felt like we had our own one bedroom apartment. The room and the bathroom were spacious and very clean an the location is perfect if you're planning on doing (hiking) trips in the close-by mountains and visit L'Aquila as well (which was sadly very much affected by a 2009 earthquake). The hotel has its own restaurant, which is very well-attended, we ate there every night, the food was delicious, fresh and offered a lot of local traditional ingredients (the plate of cheeses & cold meats is a must, the filet steak is amazing and you can never go wrong with the pastas & pizzas on the menu) The owner is very friendly and always around, making sure everything runs smoothly, which we both appreciated. The breakfast was continental with a great choice of homemade baked goods. It was one of the best hotels we stayed at and great value for money. Will be coming back!

Truly amazing experience. My husband and I were in awe immediately upon check in. The customer service provided by staff and owners was the best we've ever encountered at any hotel worldwide!! (and I used to live out of suitcase weekly). This was our 4th trip to Italy and considering everything this is absolutely the best hotel we've ever stayed at; a real gem and extraordinary value. The hotel is immalculately clean, modern and comfortable. The food was superb!! We enjoyed a wonderful dinner that consisted of dishes native to the area as reccomended by the owner. Having family ties in the area we will definitely be visiting again and without a doubt stay here...can't wait. FIVE STAR SERVICE AT THREE STAR PRICE! :)

This hotel is a great place to stay: Fantastic, friendly, helpful and kind staff. The owner Roberto can speak English very well. He and the lady, RobertA, make an excellent team. Modern rooms and bathrooms: well-kept, clean and spacious. TV and hairdryer. The first 3 nights my dad and I stayed in the outside rooms and were moved in for the last night. I accompanied my dad on his (sadly) final visit to his hometown L'Aquila to see his friends. They booked us into this hotel seeing their own homes are not fixed yet after the quake of 2009. This Hotel has about 30 rooms of which most are still being occupied by locals who lost their homes in the earthquake. (The government pays for them to stay). I was very pleased with this hotel. Very reasonably priced. Unfortunately the swimmingpool was under maintenance while we were there.......really needed it! The restaurant - Ristorante Spazizar -excellent!! Great value for money and the food is delicious - molto buono. Cannot fault this place at all! I am unsure of the shuttle service though - never heard anything about that in the 5 days & 4 nights we spent there. I also understood that L'Aquila centre is about 7km away. Nevertheless.........we had a wonderful stay and I'll stay there again next time.

On our way from Rome to Pescara we stayed one night in this hotel.
We had the best pizza in Italy in this Hotel Restaurant and I think we might say this after having owned an Italian restaurant in South Africa with the best pizza's in the world!

The location is not brilliant, but the food is to die for. We left in the morning and although we were not hungry after their delicious pizza the night before, we followed the owner's recommendation to eat their breakfast. It was delicious! All specialities from the region and we ate it all!
Best value for money.
