We had the most incredible stay here. We arrived the day before our wedding day in the castle and the staff at hotel castello were just incredible, the second we got to reception they were so welcoming and friendly. They showed us straight up the our stunning room, after a long drive the terrace with the hot tub and incredible view was just perfect. My mum had organised a supprise bottle of champagne to be waiting in our room for when we came back after our wedding, she has asked me to say a special thankyou to Matteo who helped her make this happen, it was a lovely touch to end the most perfect day. We couldn't spend the day with our familied due to the pandemic, but they were there in spirit and the staff really helped with that, thankyou so much. The following morning a beautiful bouquet was sent up to our room to offer congratulations from all of the hotel staff with a really lovely message. We really had the most incredible stay and sincerly hope to return in the not too distant future. The restaurant was unfortunately closed at the time of our arrival, but if the breakfast and snack menu were anything to go by the food was amazing! Thankyou so much for giving us the most perfect place to start off our married life together, we will never forget it. Kate and Steve

Hotel's Favourite
What a wonderful experience it was staying at this hotel. The location is perfect, right on the water near the end of town away from the tourist mobs, yet easy walking distance to the entire town. It's only a couple blocks away from the Mount Baldo vernacular along with being right next to the castle. There is excellent convenient parking on site. The rooms all have a lake view and balcony. They are keep amazingly clean and well maintained and their furnishings are very up to date. The staff are astounding. They take outstanding care of you along with going out of their way to help you any way that they can. The airline had lost our luggage and we believe that if not for the extraordinary effort that was put out by the staff helping us locate and get it, we may still be struggling to get it. The breakfast offering and buffet are to die for. Having traveled all over Europe for the past 20+ years and experiencing the many varieties of breakfast options that are out there, this hotels breakfast makes the top of the list. It is a breakfast that all others will now be judged by. Whatever you do, don't miss the omelets, they are amazing! Charles & Anita Nichols

We were warmly welcomed and shown to a lovely room with a stunning view of the lake and the castle. It was the Paina suite on the third floor and I recommend it. The view was so good that we slept with the curtains open and it was wonderful to wake up to! The bed was comfy and there was a ton of storage space. Robes and flip flops were handy additions. The breakfast is up there with the best I’ve come across. Good quality and a fabulous choice. Try the crepes! Covered parking included in the rate was a bonus and the wifi worked well too. Having direct beach access was brilliant and there were always enough sunbeds for everyone. If I had any negatives it would be that the bar/lounge area has a bit of a dated feel. It would also have been nice to be able to make a coffee in the room to drink on the balcony, rather than having to go downstairs (I was not prepared to pay €8 extra to have it brought up to me!). I knew this upfront mind you as the communication from the hotel was comprehensive! This was particularly useful in relation to the parking which involves driving down a pedestrian area which feels like you’re going wrong! All in all, this is a really good hotel, in a lovely location. Definitely make sure you get a room with a view.

I have no negatives for this hotel! The setting is amazing, at the base of the Castello and right on the lake. The staff were all very friendly, especially the man on reception who checked us in / out and seamlessly helped us change rooms (we booked last minute so one room was not free for 2 nights). Both rooms (junior suites) had amazing views. The first was a living suite in a separate building to the main hotel, it was modern and huge with a giant walk in shower. There were some nice touches such a robes and flip flops and an honestly coffee machine. In both rooms the bed faced the huge windows offering a spectacular view on waking. Our second room was not as modern as the first but still wonderful. It had the benefit of a large private terrace with sun loungers and in the evening you could watch the sunset behind the castle. The hotel also has use of free paddle boards and kayaks for guests which was great fun. The breakfast was amazing with a huge amount of choice and there was plenty of hand sanitiser available and masks worn.

Some very good things about the hotel: - location on the lake - parking - wide selection of breakfast choices, good catering for gluten free - seemed very clean in the time of Covid - free use of SUP boards for guests - good AC However we were disappointed with a few things. - service was mostly disinterested. Several times we would say good morning or good evening and be ignored. This was a total anomaly in our 2 weeks in Italy. The notable exception, the cleaning staff were lovely, and one of the men who checked us out seemed friendly. - when we went to have a quiet drink before dinner on our first night, the waiter was aggressive and wanted us to move. There was only one other table taken at the time, and we politely explained that we were just having a drink and had a dinner reservation nearby so would be leaving soon and would move if people arrived wanting to have dinner there. He acquiesced, but we were made to feel really bad. It could have been handled easily if he’d simply said something like ‘I’m very sorry, we have to reserve these tables for dinner guests, do you mind sitting inside?’. There was no need for aggression. - the room didn’t have coffee making facilities. To be fair to the hotel, they did email us before we arrived, to let their ‘British guests know not to expect a kettle for tea in the room’. It’s not a big deal, but for the price and a four star rating, we were surprised. - it advertises a desk in the room, but it seemed to us to be a stool and a shelf. - there was a noisy generator (or something like that) which would switch on and off throughout the night and wake us up. It wasn’t the AC. - again, not a big deal, but I would have expected conditioner and body lotion to be included in a four star place. Overall, the place was fine - but for a four star rating, and a price of €720 for three nights, we expected more. If the service had been friendlier I think we’d have had a very different experience and probably would have been less bothered by the other things.

Dear mr./mrs. Nat2302, many thanks for the compliments and also for the critical notes addressed to us, which if constructive, help us to improve. I point out that it would be very useful for us to know which room you stayed in (so that we can actually verify the problems indicated) or to have the name of the guest himself (in this way we identify the room) ..... the best would be, but it is perhaps asking too much, that any deficiencies found are reported to the reception in order to promptly provide and resolve: a service manager is always operational. Shortcomings such as a lack of conditioner can be solved in seconds and technical problems such as nocturnal "noises" can be identified and possibly resolved (no reports from other guests). Everything that is in the booked room equipment is clearly indicated online in the description of the room itself (actually we do not indicate the "desk" in the description of the standard rooms) and it is true that in the rooms we do not provide the necessary to make tea (actually we do not even indicate this): the photos of the room itself are usually very exhaustive. The only thing we cannot calmly accept is the fact that the waiters on duty are judged aggressive: this does not correspond to reality and the countless testimonies of appreciation certify it. The fact that, once greeted, one is not repeatedly reciprocated, borders on ridicule ... Matteo
