Our hotel is located in the beautiful natural setting of western Elba, at the foot of the highest mountain of the island, Monte Capanne. From the hotel you can enjoy a unique view of Corsica, and of Capraia, another of the islands in the Tuscan Archipelago. The hotel is situated in the characteristic village of Colle d'Orano, part of the Tuscan Archipelago National Park. At Villa Rita we offer you an informal and welcoming ambience: 17 well-appointed rooms, a relaxing and peaceful atmosphere, and a fantastic location from which you will be able to enjoy unforgettable sunsets. The hotel has private parking for cars and motorbikes as well as for bicycles (covered for both motorbikes and bicycles). Sitting room with TV sat and a small library, bar, restaurant with sea view, swimming pool with wirpool section and solarium, and a sea view veranda where you can enjoy a Limoncino, read a book or just look at the beutiful sky full of stars. The TV room, the veranda and most of our rooms have WI-FI connection. You will immediately notice how in the hotel's vicinities there is a variety of attractions: from the most popular beaches to those that can be reached only by driving or walking along rough tracks, or even just from the sea; from areas of Mediterranean bush to mountain valleys, each of which has its own microclimate and ecosystem. These areas contain indigenous plant species such as the violet, the Monte Capanne cornflower, various types of orchids, the sea-lavender, and the yew – proof of the existence of an ancient oceanic forest. It will not be difficult to spot in the more remote areas mouflons, wild boars, martens, green lizards, red partridges, crows and hawks. From the hotel, sea lovers can easily reach small solitary beaches of rocks and gravel, with clear and beautiful waters – such as the beaches at Le Buche and the Polveraia – and in a few minutes you can drive to some of the well known sandy beaches such as Sant'Andrea, Cotoncello, Fetovaia, Seccheto and Cavoli. To reach most local beaches in the borough of Marciana and along the Costa del Sole (Coast of the Sun), from mid June to mid September (dates subject to variation) our guests have FREE use of the MAREBUS SERVICE which stops directly outside the hotel. For walkers, birdwatchers and photographers, there are many well-signed tracks in the vicinity of the hotel. Discover historical sites, rare wildlife and splendid panoramic views.

A place that focuses entirely on the location, very quiet and an excellent position to see the sunsets even if the sun, at a certain point, disappears behind Corsica. Clean room where nothing was missing (in ours there was no bidet) with fresh sheets and good sponge. Good breakfast, not very varied, as was the dinner; good, without particular Tuscan specialties and served with kindness and professionalism. The most famous beaches can be reached in twenty minutes by car and in the evening there are no diversions, just peace. Overall we had a good time.

This small, family run hotel was a lucky find and highly recommendable. Paula and Davide were perfect hosts, friendly, attentive and supportive, such as helping with drop-offs or working out bus services which are infrequent pre-season. The rooms are spacious, simple and comfortable with great views. The food was very good, with a choice of vegetarian every day - and served in the dining room with stunning views across the sea. I had an excellent massage by a very competent masseuse. The pool looks pristine and inviting in a beautiful setting. As the hotel is quite remote, it is a good idea to book for half board. There is one restaurant a couple of minutes up the road as an alternative, which serves decent food. The only small negative, was that the building is not well soundproofed, with stone floors and high rooms, so it was quite noisy in my room from guests coming and going and from the dining room. Not a problem unless one spends more time in one's room, as I did.

We had a wonderful time at Villa Rita!
The hotel itself is beautifully located on a slope close to the road. The view from the hotel is amazing. You can see all the way to Corsica and Capraia. But the most beautiful view is that of the sunset. We have traveled to many places where people told us to watch the sunset, but never have we seen more beautiful ones than here, sitting on the terrace drinking a prosecco or an Elbanese beer!
The rooms are spacious with A/C and a fridge. The bathroom was small but clean.
This is a good hotel, but the difference between good hotels lies in the details. And this is exactly what makes Villa Rita an outstanding hotel. Paola and Davide run this hotel from their hearts and you can tell. They are genuinely friendly and helpful, well organized and know exactly what they are doing. They gave us information about the beaches, places to visit and helped us arrange an excursion to the island of Pianosa. (A bizarre but highly recommended daytrip)
Finally I would also like to congratulate the chef. The dining was superb! We always had a choice between three starters, three mains and three desserts. Honest, genuine, well prepared local dishes. (Also remember to taste one of the Elbanese wines!)
Everything just right! Thank you again Paola & Davide!

We arrived in a grumpy mood following problems with our car. But our family room cheered us up: a wide firm double bed, two single beds, and plenty of room to move around rather than having to shuffle past each other. A nice big bathroom too. No view from inside the room, but by going out onto the spacious terrace we had a splendid view of the sea.
The children (8 and 10) loved the swimming pool, which is salt water rather than chlorinated. One day we were the only people there, so it was like our own private pool.
Breakfast was plentiful, and the evening meal was the Italian format of antipasto (no choice), primo (pasta etc, choice from three options), secondo (two meat options, one vegetarian, plus salad and cooked vegetables from the buffet) and cake/icecream/fruit/coffee. There was plenty to eat, and all of our requests for changes were perfectly dealt with (less for the children, no prawns with that one, etc). We drank wines from Elba, which were good and about 15 EUR per bottle.
There is plenty to do in the surrounding area, and although we normally went out in the car, one day we took the Marebus. It isn't very frequent, but it is fun, and saved us a lot of aggravation parking in Sant'Andrea. It also introduced us to Patresi, which we might not have discovered otherwise.
Our last night there was Thursday 15 August, the Assumption of Mary religious festival. So there was a special meal, much more elaborate than normal, which made an excellent end to our holiday. I don't remember our first Thursday there having a themed dinner, contrary to the website.
The staff were all very pleasant and helpful, and the hotel (which has a spacious site) was all well-maintained and immaculately clean. Paola dealt with emails immediately, which was particularly appreciated when I was late organising the ferry.
Someone recommended this hotel to us, and we would highly recommend it too!
Thank you!

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights and wished it had been for longer! Paola and her husband were so friendly and helpful- nothing was too much trouble and their English is excellent. The food was fantastic- 3 courses, freshly prepared with a salad/vegetable buffet and the dining room had lovely views. It was also incredibly good value with the half board rate (57 euros each per night).
The pool is very nice, with great views- it was quiet when we went and we were the only people by the pool. You can order lunch or drinks there too.
We had a big room, which is simply decorated with a nice bathroom and a fridge and TV in the room. There was a balcony too.
There are 2-3 beaches a short drive away, so this hotel is lovely and quiet as it is not too near the beach.
Highly recommended!

Indeed Paradise Found! I was truly fortunate in having stayed in this haven of a wonderful hotel tucked away between two slanting hillocks with unspoilt views onto the blissful sea and beyond Corsica and the Capraia Islands. The hotel management were so incredibly friendly and hospital making me immediately feel at home away from home offering such one could only describe as the best and kindest service I’d experienced elsewhere. The food was impeccablely delicious deserving a six star ranking if such existed. A stay in the Villa Rita is well rewarded with any wish almost being read off ones lips. The intuitive approach to pleasing a client’s sojourn is quite unique with such brilliant staff and management.

I'm sure, Villa Rita is one of the best places I've ever been in Italy: stunning views, magic atmospheres, perfect climate. Food is delicious and the dinners are always different with three choices and four courses, served in a beautiful room with unbeliveable sunsets that are offered every day for free.
The owners are really helpful and they offer the best italian hospitality with some british class touch, heritage of their studies in England for several years.
The rooms are basic, but very clean.
Villa Rita is a very excellent choice. By the way, in August is a little bit expensive, but if you choose the half board, it's ok.

Dear Sir, thank you very much for your review. It is our pleasure to know that you enjoyed your stay in our hotel! Lovely is to know that you appreciated the food, the service, the sunsets and our ...'guest house' (term that we like very much!) overall! - Thank you! to you and your family! Just a note on the prices - as you will have had the chance to notice there are quite a lot of places more expensive than we are around the island - we try to give the right price at the quality and service we give. Best regards from us all at Villa Rita

A very pleasant stay, might be a little longer. Our room was clean and comfy, so was the bed. Hosts were very outgoing and polite people who helped also with some possible trips or so, explained everything. Good location, there is a lot to see in this area. Breakfast was decent and tasty and also restaurant qualitative.

Great place for shorts or long stays. Very quiet, rooms with a wonderful sea and sunset view. We choose to dine there every night and this was a very good choice because the food is fantastic. A lot to explore in the surrounding area and Paola gives very precise and detailed tips about the walking trails. We only regretted not being able to stay longer.

Cordiali saluti, Paola
