The Hotel Sardi is located at Pomonte, a small and characteristic town on the Western side of the Island, dominated by the Monte Capanne massif. I sensed the atmosphere of this hotel online and expectations were very high.
We were looking for a relaxing place, quiet, welcoming and of course on the sea. Away from mass tourism.
Well, expectations have been exceeded.
The property is located in the amazing pearl of Pomonte, a village that entered our hearts at first glance.
Upon our arrival I am greeted with a handshake (who still does???), a smile and a sincere “welcome”.
From here, a succession of pampering and attention from all the staff. You can breathe the family management, the handing down and the persistence of values now in disuse, such as trying to put the customer at ease and make it as pleasant as possible the long-awaited holiday.
Our room was small and we had been warned about this, but with a suggestive view of the sea both from the bed and from the precious balcony, where we gladly consumed two of the three dinners because the location deserved.
You only hear the sound of the sea, just like in our dreams.
The breakfast is among the best ever tried.
Every day fresh products and strictly homemade and expertly chosen by the staff who puts their soul and passion into every detail, as well as, as already mentioned, so much courtesy and hospitality.
The structure is clean and well cared for, has a bar for aperitifs open until 20 from which you can enjoy a beautiful sunset (if the weather allows) and various well-organized parking.
Finally, but for us fundamental, completely pet friendly.
What about: for us a safe goodbye.

This is the second time I have returned to this hotel and I will most likely return in the future. Decentralized position compared to the rest of the island, but beautiful sunsets and beautiful views along the entire stretch of coast that connects Pomonte to Marina di Campo. Parking on site. Breakfast...phenomenal. everything is extremely well looked after and varied, plentiful and delicious. Unforgettable breakfast. The rooms are a little small, but more than enough. The hosts are very kind and experts on the island (also when it comes to trekking).

It is a small and delightful family-run hotel located right in front of the beach of Pomonte. It 'a fairly quiet place even in the middle of August, but that still offers good initiatives.
The rooms are comfortable; the bathroom of ours was brand new and spacious. I appreciated the fact that I finally found a wardrobe and spacious furniture for a family staying for a week.
The strength is the hotel staff, always helpful, courteous and ready to give all the suggestions to see the best places on the island of Elba.
Breakfast is plentiful and delicious, both sweet and savory.
Nearby there is a small square on the sea from which you can enjoy the wonderful sunsets.

We arrived from Versailles (Paris) and booked a room for 5 days.
If someone had asked us which were the negative points we wouldn't have been able to answer. Everything was perfect, since the first contact (by phone) at the moment of the reservation.

This is an ideal place for relaxing, enjoying the seaside and for walking/trekking with the family managed hotel providing you all the comforts you need at a very reasonable price ( 38€/person per night in May)

Clean rooms, rich breakfast and good quality dinner, gave us an even better impression of the whole.

Hopefully, continue like that!

It's not 4 star luxe, but the people are really kind, the food is great, the views are pretty. Lush flowers, italian sense for beaty.
A few steps away is the pretty pebbly beach, which is charming. Our children got to konw a group of italian girls, and never wanted to leave again. Bring your water . Village is quiet, but good enough for an evening stroll and an icecream. Relax.

Hotel Sardi was an excellent hotel from the moment we made our reservations til we left. The entire staff especially Laura were extremely welcoming and helpful in every regard.

The Hotel Sardi is located in the village of Pomonte on the western side of Elba. It takes about 30-40minutes to reach from the port. The sunsets each evening over the sea and into the mountains over Corsica are worth the trip alone. Pomonte is a great little village where you can get away from the hubbub of everything even in August (the height of travel season for Europeans), Pomonte felt quiet and relaxed. They have a couple little supermarkets, a fruit truck that makes its rounds (similar to an ice cream truck), a great pizzeria – called Sophie with fantastic tapas whilst you await your pizzas.

The beaches around Pomonte are rocky. The Med here is crystal clear, I’ve travelled to a lot of places and have never seen water this clear. I could see down easily 30+ metres. One big highlight is a shipwreck nearby…walk south along the beach road for ~150 metres and either swim (be a good swimmer tis ~1/4 mile each way) or rent pedal boat/kayak. The shipwreck is located in clear waters with loads of fish. The wreck creates a spectacular reef and one can easily free dive to parts of the ship located ~5+ metres below the sea. Another highlight are the walking trails…go up the road towards Sophie Pizza and continue upwards, you’ll see the trails. Within 5 minutes all you’ll hear is the wind and the views are incredible looking down the valley. You can walk up to the big mountain or over a whole host of different trails.

Hotel Sardi is located right beside the beach they have easy and accessible parking. The rooms were very clean and spacious. Some included a balcony. Breakfast was the same everyday – typical mainland European style – meats/cheeses, breads, yoghurts, etc. But they also baked from scratch a few delicious cakes every morning that were great. They offer a dinner service every evening, you don’t have to choose it but I would highly recommend it. The food was always delicious, made from scratch. The service, as I’ve spoken to before was fantastic. They were efficient in everything they did, worked hard to make you feel welcome and it shows.

Hotel Sardi is a great hotel – thank you Laura, and all the staff for making us feel so welcome! I highly recommend staying at the Hotel Sardi if you’re considering a holiday in Elba.
