This is possibly the worst place I have stayed in... and I've stayed in everything from the very top of the range hotels to hostels.

My friend and I decided to store our luggages at the hotel while we have a walk around. It costed us 1 euro for each luggage, and we checked in 2. We gave the receptionist 11 euros and expected 9 euros back (2 luggages). Clearly...More

We took Bus 6 from right in front of the Hotel Mondial. You buy your bus ticket at the newsstand (Il Gazettini) down the street and it only costs 1.30 Euro. The buses were packed and we kind of had to muscle our way on with the luggage, but it was a quick ride, probably about 15 minutes. From there you board the people mover train (you have to buy a ticket and pay) that gets you a little closer to the cruise ship port, and from then on you walk, depending on where your cruise ship is docked. There will be people from your cruise line directing you at that point. Have a great trip!

We didn't travel from the hotel into Venice itself - but it is close to Mestre station, trains to Venice Santa Lucia take 10 mins, check the Trenitalia website for this. Once there, you need a vaporetto to get to San Marco, €7 single or €20 day rover, with night services too. Check ACTV website for those.
