The Best Western Plus Hotel Bologna consistently receives high marks for its strategic location near Mestre station, offering travelers convenient access to Venice. Guests have called out the cleanliness and modernity of the spacious rooms and bathrooms, often commending the comfortable beds. While the hotel's value is generally appreciated, especially given its location, some guests find additional charges for services like parking and late check-out to be on the higher side.
The service is largely regarded as professional and courteous, although a few guests have encountered less than welcoming experiences. Amenities are well-received, but there's room for improvement with the toiletries offered.

We stayed the night of September 24th at the hotel because we had to take the first train to Milan the next day. The location is truly exceptional because all you have to do is cross the street and you are at the station; the quality of sleep is enviable both in terms of soundproofing and the bed. Unfortunately we were unable to evaluate the breakfast because we had to leave the hotel at 5.30 in the morning to catch the train. The cleanliness of the room, the amenities and the reception service were excellent. It is advisable for those who were to spend a weekend in Venice, also considering that the da Tura restaurant which I believe is connected to the hotel offers, in addition to the à la carte menu, an excellent solution (among other things of good quality) of first class , second course, side dish, dessert, water and coffee in two variations - meat and fish - for €12. But where is it in Venice? The price of the stay was fair, certainly not given away, but we must calculate that it is a fully deserved 4 stars Patrizia and Maurizio

Stayed for 3 nights as a solo traveller exploring Venice. What a great decision to stay at this hotel in Mestre!! This hotel is wonderful and literally right across the street from the train station. For the price of can of soda, you can take the train for 10 minutes and be right at Venice Santa Lucia station. An incredible value compared to what you would pay to stay right in Venice - and you don't have to deal with lugging your suitcases over bridges or cobblestone streets!
The hotel itself is quite nice and it looks like it has been recently renovated with modern touches. The front desk staff are all very helpful. My room was surprisingly large with a comfortable king bed and a beautiful big window that opened-up like a balcony. Everything was clean, modern and fresh and the bathroom looked recently updated too. Great amenities everywhere. Honestly, not a single complaint.
If you need anything at all, grocery stores, bakeries and restaurants are all within an easy walking distance. There is also a shuttle bus right across the street that will take you to the Marco Polo airport directly for only 10 Euros. The convenience cannot be beat.
Don't hesitate to consider staying here if you are looking to visit Venice and may be on a budget. Probably one of the best travel decisions I ever made and will recommend it to everyone.

We had a great stay. The room has comfortable beds and a spacious bathroom. The room is quiet, with a safe and windows that open. The hotel is well located, in front of the train station that takes you quickly to Venice, and on the same street there is a market three blocks away, which is also very convenient. The staff was always very attentive and friendly. Breakfast was charged separately, 10 euros per person, but I think the price was fair. I found the late check-out (30 euros to leave at 3pm) a bit expensive. Now one thing that the hotel can and should urgently improve are the toiletries in the bathroom, such as soap, shampoo, etc... as those provided by the hotel are horrible. If they had been pleasant, I would have given them 5 stars in the review.

Hotel located in front of Mestre train station strategic position to reach V. Santa Lucia by train or bus. The rooms of this structure are modern and very spacious, equipped with the necessary comforts, the bed is very comfortable and the shower is very large. Good cleaning. In the Hall there is a bar for those who opt for an overnight stay without breakfast and the restaurant that also offers tourist menus.

It is a very dirty hotel with very rude staff. It is stated on their website that the hotel is equipped with air-conditioning; however, it was a LIE. The room was stuffy, dirty and smelly. The reception said the air-conditioning has been turned off since September. We were asked to open the window for ventilation. Many mosquitoes, flies and bugs then flied into the room. My friend even had allergic reaction! When we asked for help at the front desk, they only provided pesticides and were not willing to change the room. After using the pesticides, there were even more bugs. When we went to the front desk to seek for help AGAIN, the lady at the front desk was being very rude and inconsiderate. She even questioned the cause of my friend’s allergy, saying that “Mosquitoes are just mosquitoes. It won’t cause allergies.” She at last reluctantly offered a much smaller room which could not accommodate all of us. Such humiliating service should not be the standard of a Best Western Hotel.

If you come to Venice by car, this hotel is very convenient as it is located opposite Mestre train station and has its own secure parking (16 euros for 24 hours). The train to Venice takes 12 minutes and costs a few euros. As for the hotel, very beautiful, spacious and comfortable rooms. Very well soundproofed (you can hardly hear anything even if it faces the street). On the other hand, the restaurant offers a limited menu and the dishes are a little expensive compared to the quality of the meals.

We travel in Europe at least once a year and have gotten used to smaller hotel rooms than in the U.S. We were pleasantly surprised at how roomy the accommodation was at this hotel. We appreciated the ability to freely move around the room, the decent size of the bathroom and the ability to find ample space to store all of the clothing from our suitcases. In addition, the breakfast buffet every morning was very inviting and we chose to eat there every morning even though breakfast was not included in our rate. We found the location excellent - couldn't be any closer to the Mestre railroad station or the bus stop for the #2 bus direct to Venice. Our dealings with the front desk staff members were always very good. In summary, we had a very pleasant and satisfactory stay for 3 nights.

Perhaps the next best thing to staying in Venice itself is this gem of a hotel in Venice Mestre.
Located just a cross the Mestre train station, and I mean literally across the street, BW Bologna met the mark for those of us who needed rooms for a group and wanted to avoid the pricey digs in Venice.
It’s a big hotel, stretching an entire block and hence getting rooms wouldn’t seem an issue even for groups. As a 4 star hotel with restaurant and gym amenities, it was more than adequate.
The rooms were sizeable (we had the family room for 4), bathroom was particularly large, useful for 4 grown ups who need the space, and renovated nicely with plenty of charging points and plugs.
Five points for the location and comfort of the hotel.
Top tip: get the family room if you are going with your loved ones

Pros:- 1. Located just 50 meters from the Venice Mestre train station and bus stop. Many restaurants and bars nearby for eg. MacDonalds, chinese and italian restaurants, cafes, bars nearby. All reasonably priced. 2. King sized bed provided. Huge bathroom as in hotel photos. 3. Buffet breakfast provided albeit limited without much meat. 4. Reception allowed bag storage while we buy train tickets and eat our lunch after checking out. Cons:- 1. No locks or security features on room door. Need to use chair to block the door. 2. Shower head located in the wrong place.

Booked this hotel in 2019 and had to wait until Oct 2022 due to pandemic. Jessica from the front office sorted out all my paperwork she was so helpful nothing was too much trouble. All the hotel staff were extremely professional from front of house to cleaning staff, could not fault anything. The hotel is directly opposite the railway station also bus number 2 both go directly to Venice Plaza Roma takes about 10/15 minutes. Also the airport shuttle bus stops in the coach station next to the railway. There are several supermarkets and restaurants nearby, the hotel restaurant is very good. Breakfast served from 6.30, buffet style, plenty of choice, cold meats, sausage, breads, fruit, yoguart, cake, cooked eggs, bacon, juice, coffe, tea. Rooms very spacious , comfortable beds and lovely bathrooms, good shower. Hotel is run like clockwork would recommend it 100% .

We only used the Trenitalia ticket machines in the station to go to Padua.
You could also use the same machine to go from Venice Mestre to Troncehetto Island, the end of the line for the railroad. Keep in mind that you are buying a destination, not a ticket value from the ticket vending machines. From Tronchetto you have to take the Peoplemover to Piazzale Roma. It looks like you can buy a monthly ticket on the PeopleMover, but that is for commuting to the city, not visitors. The alternative would be taking a water taxi to St . Marks. Tronchetto is near the piers and you should be able to catch one there. I haven't been on the Peoplemover, but the boat ride into the city should not be missed. There is so much to see from the water.
There are more places to choose from in the Mestre area.
