This is a beautiful family run gasthof in a small village in Val Gardena. Every time we come to Europe, staying with the Kasslater family, the proprietors of Sporthotel Platz, is the highlight of the trip. The culture, sport, food, people and geography combine to make an incredible unparalleled experience. Over the summer my family, including our 5 and 6...

This was our third visit to the hotel but our first in winter. We were welcomed back by the very friendly team. Marie in reception does everything possible to help and make your stay enjoyable. Nothing is too much trouble. Andreas, Leopold and their team made us so welcome. Breakfast is quite a feast with everything you could want to...

We will go back to this hotel! It was just what we wanted - close enough to Ortisei to take the free shuttle (which stops right by the hotel), or drive if you have a car (we did both), but part way up the mountainside for the peaceful retreat. We booked this hotel based upon the breathtaking views and other...

The hotel is a strange mix. The service and food were excellent. The staff were friendly and very helpful and, as we had an early start, breakfast was served especially early for us. However, the rooms are tired and really weren't cleaned properly. There were hairs all over the bathroom. Perhaps a new cleaner is required (or new glasses for...

A sixth visit to Bulla in seven years and everything was as good as it always is. Great friendly service from Leopold and his team, good food (the prosciutto in crosto on Thursday was a highlight) and as a bonus some of the best snow conditions any of us could recollect. Definitely hoping to return in 2015.

We spent a week in Val Gardena hiking and decided on the Sporthotel Platz as our base. The hotel is in the small village of Bulla/Pufels, high on the hill above Ortisei. It was a great choice, as the main villages on the valley floor were extremely crowded with vacationers, since it was the week of Ferragosto. The hotel is...

Unfortunately Bulla is somewhat remote with regard to main town activities and access to the ski slopes. That said the tiny village setting is picture postcard quality. My biggest disappointment was the lack of wi-fi in the rooms as I needed to do some business while on vacation. The food was plentiful but no more than average; rather than have...

This is a superb hotel in a lovely out of the way location - but only a short bus ride from the main town. Fantastic views and brilliant food. The five course dinner every night was really top quality and loved by all my family. All the staff are lovely and are always trying to make your stay a special...

Fabulous, traditional hotel in Heidi type setting. Leopold and all his staff work effortlessly to ensure a tremendous time had by all. Food is amazing with wonderful 5 course dinner. Breakfast like a king with so many choices. All this plus the sauna and pool (big enough to swim in). Easy access to slopes by car or ski bus in...
