What a super location. With a fabulous view of the Duomo as soon as your out the front door. This is an older hotel but well looked after. We had a large two bedroom suite with a sitting area and updated bathroom. Also had a hidden 2nd bathroom which we thought was a closet. Breakfast was okay. This hotel has... More

Stayed just one night. Although the hotel is older, our room was large with a nice remodeled bathroom. Exceptionally quiet considering we are just steps from the Duomo. Includes parking close by, at a very cheap rate. Service was excellent and staff couldn't be nicer or more attentive. Good breakfast - typical of breakfasts throughout our Italy vacation. Honestly, I'm... More

The location was wonderful. When we stepped out the door, the beautiful Duomo was to our right about 1/2 block away. The family that runs the hotel were so pleasant and helpful....especially Norma and her brother. The breakfast had everything you would want. It's where we'll stay on our next trip to Orvieto.

What a great hotel ! Feels like someone turned the lights out in 1962 then turned them back on yesterday ! An authentic time capsule in a perfect location just meters from the Cathedral. What is really cool is that the hotel was not made 'retro style' by a designer......It has just become that way over time. When we stayed... More

Fantastic location, just a few steps from the impressive Cathedral. However the rooms need a bit of brushing up. Shower curtain continuously touching you, while taking a shower. Breakfast OK, but only just.

We have stayed at the Maitani each time we have been in Orvieto. It has not changed much over the years. It has large public rooms that still retain a certain elegance. They have added wifi but it is not very strong. We were given a suite with a small balcony overlooking the main entrance. It was very spacious. You... More

Super location with garage parking. One can tell this was a beautiful, top notch hotel in the past, that is presently showing its age (frayed and dirty stairwell carpet, unkept rooftop terrace). The rooms were comfortable and relatively spacious for European hotels. The woman at Reception was an absolute delight and helpful in every way possible. Can't say the same... More

If you are looking for a centrally located hotel with old world charm, friendly attentive staff, nicely kept rooms and hallways decorated with fascinating art, the Hotel Maitani is the place to stay. Just a two minute walk to Orvieto's magnificent Piazza dell'Duomo, we have stayed at this hotel twice in the past two years. You could not ask for... More

Hotel Maitani Orvieto Old fashioned and immaculate. Carpets slightly worn in places on the stairs but not the old style charm and excellent service which was as wonderful as when we stayed there 10 years ago The suite for 3 (complete with art deco pink telephone) came to 200 euro with very good breakfast. The rooms are spotless, well appointed... More

We have stayed at this hotel several times in our trips to Italy. The business is locally owned and ran. The hotel is about a half block from the main Piazza in Orvieto. It has a parking garage for your car if needed. Let me tell you about how nice the staff is. By accident we left our cell phone... More
