Visited Orvieto for one night and it is a place not to be missed! The funicular (mountain train) will transcend you from the train station into Orvieto where you can then easily take a bus into the town centre. Our bus stopped in the piazza della Repubblica, where you basically round the corner walk 2 minutes and you are at...

This hotel is located in a quiet small plaza within two minutes walking distance of the main square. Hotel offers parking for guests coming into town by car. The room we had was on the top floor, very well appointed and extremely quiet. Hotel staff was incredible with directions, reservations and recommendation of sights. We cannot wait to return to...

Hotel is located quite centrally, but if you drive a car the reception will conveniently valet your vehicle. Personnel at reception were very kind and helpful. The palace has history and charme. Rooms are clean but rather small. Good bed. Breakfast offers a good choice of local food. Good value for $. A place definitely I would suggest.

I was in Orvieto for a competition and found myself on the train from Rome on the last day needing to stay the night. I checked out some TripAdvisor reviews and, based on the good ratings, wrote to the hotel to see if they could accommodate me. The reply was swift and friendly, and they managed to find a room...

We had stayed here on a previous trip to Orvieto and enjoyed the hotel and the city. However, the second time around, the glow had worn off. I don't know if we had changed, but the hotel had not and the room we were in showed it. The junior suite had a room off the bedroom that contained nothing besides...

Just what a hotel in a beautiful Tuscan hill town should be! Incredible views, beautiful rooms with gorgeous tile floors, helpful and friendly staff and excellent food. The complimentary breakfast was amazing and all the food was fresh and delicious. The breakfast room sits on top of an Etruscan ruin which you can see through a special viewing window they...

Stopped in Orvieto on a stop over when driving from Naples to Florence and was more than pleasantly surprised. Hotel was an old papal palace and although simple is just what you would want when staying in a beautiful medieval town. Breakfast was nothing special but the service in the whole hotel was excellent.

Very well renovated old palace, with well appointed white room. The wifi speed was great and consistent. The breakfast buffet was really nice with a variety of choices and constantly refilled. Staff was attentive and pleasant. The room was sparkling clean and the air conditioning worked extremely well in over 35 celsius degree temperature! I truly enjoyed my stay and...

I liked this hotel a lot, although it wasn't quite what I expected. I chose this hotel based on some of the negative and bizarre reviews of other hotels in Orvieto as I wanted peace and quiet (so away from the half hourly chimes that you would get in hotels around the Duomo) and I also wanted a comfortable room...

Orvieto is a great place to visit, a walled town with interesting piazzas and narrow streets with views and architecture to savour. To my mind the Palazzo Piccolomini is the ideal place from which to explore it. It's in one of the quieter squares, away from the throng of the more central ones. It is, though, an easy stroll to...
