We found our booking at the Palazzo Piccolomini through European Destinations. The building was renovated into a modern and very comfortable hotel. We had a double bedroom in the corner on the third floor, facing out to the street but very quiet. There was a delicious breakfast served downstairs each morning, and there was a bar open in the early...

Highly recommend this hotel. Modern, clean, attentive staff, close to everything. Our room was contemporary, clean, and modern. This hotel is not your typical medevil(ish) type hotel with stone steps and walls. This hotel is modern and easily exceeded our expectations. The breakfast area was delightful and the food was very good. Highly commend.

It was my first visit to Orvieto, and Palazzo Piccolomini was a perfect place to stay. It was a double bedroom I stayed, located on 3rd floor. View from there was fantastic! Although shower room was bit small, the room itself was quite big. Breakfast was great also and services from staff was perfect for me.

Friendly and great service. Convenient location close by Palazzo Della Republica. Very clean and comfortable beds. Excellent restaurants nearby, especially Zeppelin, which offers a fun cooking class if you have the time. Also two minutes behind hotel is Le Grotte del Funaro which was built underground with great atmosphere and delicious food typical of the Umbrian style.

Because Orvieto is so popular with tourists good value in a hotel is not easy to find. We found Palazzo Piccolomini adequate but, apart from the excellent location, not particularly outstanding. Like so many older italian buildings converted to hotels rooms vary in size and configuration. Ours was small and warm with only a few electrical outlets for recharging electronic...

A single night stay in this charming hotel with a great location. Great service from the front office staff. Rooms were a little small, but clean and quiet. I would stay again, based on our service. Purchased the breakfast option and was not disappointed. Good suggestions for lunch and dinner. Showers a little small, but again clean. Would recommend.

We stayed here for 1 night while travelling from Rome to Tuscany. We are a family of 4 with children aged 14 and 11. We had booked a suite via email, and a few weeks prior to our arrival the hotel informed us that they had upgraded us to a larger (superior) family suite for no additional cost! The room...

In June, we stayed at this hotel for the second time, and somewhat to my own surprise, I am giving it a higher rating now. What changed? Simply this: we had a different room this year. It was spacious and bright, and our bathroom did not feel like a converted closet. Also, our window faced a quiet side street, so...

My husband and I stayed in this hotel on our first visit to Italy in 1999. We recently returned with our teenage children and family/friends. It is still the same quaint place it was 13 years ago! The rooms are clean and well furnished. The staff is unbelievable... very helpful and extremely professional. Orvieto is a fabulous town only 1...

We decided to splurge for our Anniversary and chose the Palazzo. We chose one of the suites in the adjacent building and had a fantastic king room including a loft, sitting area, and a view of the square. The room was beautiful, clean and quiet. The room was 200 euro/night. for that price you can not even stay in a...
