We have stayed at Colle dell'ara for 5 nights end of October 2016. We can definitely recommend this place for its location, the superb views and the good breakfast! As advertised Colle dell'ara is situated on a hill high above Positano (about 477 m above sea level according to GMaps) with breathtaking views of Montepertuso, Positano and the coastline. You... Loved every minute of our 4-day stay here. An adventure getting to the place (incredible 5-min walk down a country path), then once you are there, one of the spectacular views you will ever see. Spacious room, and small balcony. Nice, uncomplicated breakfast. Giacomo couldn't have been more helpful, he is right to be very proud of his family's place.... More

If you are looking for a genuinely Italian, warm and welcoming experience close to Positano, this is it. Colle dell'Ara is unlike any B&B imaginable. Perched high in the hills above the maddening crowds of beautiful Positano in the small village of Montepertuso, it does indeed boast outstanding views (right from your own balcony). A lush garden leads down to... More

B&B is set on a hillside 20 minute bus ride from Positano center. Views are amazing. As you approach the main building, you can see the Faraglioni rocks on the side of Capri, Breakfast was amazing. Freshly made frittata, several types of homemade cakes, fresh fruit (including green figs from the garden which I loved), yogurt, cereal, bread, etc. Rooms... More

Phenomenal view!! Very relaxing, very spacious bedroom, bathroom and patio, most comfortable bed of all our locations in Italy. The breakfast was great every morning. The hosts (Pasquale & ) were very friendly and super helpful. The location was gorgeous... surrounded by gardens and fruit trees with an amazing view of Positano town and the sea below. This place is like a hidden gem in the hill above positano. The place is incredibly charming with a nice fruits garden, vineyards and of course an amazing view ! Pasquale and his family made us feel welcome from the start. Great communication through the booking and stay. This Quaint, romantic gem is nestled high above Positano in Montepertuso, away from the crowds and hustle- n-bustle down below. Tops on our list was: the wonderful breakfast; the special dinner prepared by Michele (Pasquale's dear father) one night; a once in... More

WE stayed for 4 nights in Nocelle at the Colle Dell Arra B&B. The views were amazing as was the service provided by our host Pasquale. The climb up is 129 steps and the luggage goes up on a lift so it is not a typical luxury hotel. The rooms are spacious with a view of the terrace and the... More

We stayed at Colle dell'Ara for 3 nights. It is such a special spot. Although you are a 20 minute bus trip out of Positano we liked being away from the crowds (and the bus trip was a real experience!). It's in the perfect location to start the Path of the Gods which was a real highlight of our trip.... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Colle dell'ara is not a hotel. Staying with us, in our home, means treating yourself to a rare experience. We are in Positano, in the small village of Montepertuso, located just above this corner of paradise on the Amalfi Coast. The building is situated on top of the hill and can be reached on foot in 5-6 minutes through an ancient path, fully illuminated at night. We are Pasquale and Giacomo, who with the help of our father Michele, a few years ago we decided to undertake this activity which constantly is giving us the opportunity to convey to our guests our main passions for hospitality and good food. These passions, well-established in our coastal land and agriculture, allowing us to constantly reinvent the offer to our guests dedicated, basing it on availability and seasonality values. We host you in rooms equipped with private bathroom and balcony overlooking the sea of Positano between the islands of Capri and Li Galli. Each room has a large double bed (with the possibility of adding a single bed), and are equipped with linens, towels and toiletries. Free wi-fi connection is working in all our spaces. We provide you with keys for your independent access at every time. Upon your arrival you will find free parking slots along the road and we'll help you carry your luggage with a special pulling system. We will assist you from beginning, accompanying you throughout whole of your stay suggesting you the best local amenities including activities from ourselves offered. You will have here the opportunity to experience our land through different activities such us farming excursions and local cooking classes (events organized on reservation). We always include breakfast, different every day and based on availability of our gardens, or made by the breads and cakes that we daily prepare. The center of Positano is reachable by bus in 20 minutes or 35-40 minutes through a centuries-long staircase. For trekking lovers, our structure is directly related to the main paths of Monti Lattari and the most famous Walkpath of God. However, we are located at the center of several important location like Pompei, Capri, Amalfi, Ravello and Sorrento, reachable by ferry, bus or car. Nearby you will find shops and restaurants. ... more   less
