We enjoyed a stay at Alfonso A Mare in September 2016 . It is in a fine spot right at the beach with great service and food. There are stairs and a few quirky things at this older hotel so don't expect 4 star but it is reasonably priced, quiet and charming.

Hard to review this Hotel. The location is fantastic (in a deep gorge off the main road) but the rooms were basic enough. There is no reception area or even aplace to sit and relax. Staff were very helpful and the breakfast was excellent. If you do not have a car the location is quite isolated, the local buses run...

The hotel is not near much on the Amalfi Coast and we had to take a car to Positano or Amalfi for dinner and shopping, which was costly. The beach is nice but very busy. It is also a local beach spot which was disappointing when we thought we were getting a private beach. There was excursions available right on...

Hotel is located at the bottom of stunning Cliffs directly on a lovely beach. It has a number of other charming restaurants clustered around it. On arrival we were upgraded to a room with a sea view, which really made our stay. The room itself was basic and a little tried, but everything was in working order (and what a...

The ONLY redeming quality this "hotel" has is its proximity to Positano. The beach front that it is located on is essentially a dirty watering hole filled with children and babies in dirty diapers. It is a local spot (which I have nothing against) but the price tag they add on as a "waterfront" hotel is RIDICULOUS as it would...

Aussie couple mid 20's on holiday exploring Amalfi / Praiano / Positano / Sorrento coast. Location here is fantastic as its in between all of these but also is a little getaway in itself. We hired a car to get around, parking at the hotel is €10 a day. I would recommend a car if you stay here as its...

Breathtaking scenery, purely marine food cooked like real kitchen Meditterranean, from pasta to seafood fried to grilled swordfish ... ..The alfonso family are very nice people, the staff is very professional pity only for the waiter who turned it over to a dinner of hot sauce on my wife's legs !! otherwise all right !!

What you are getting here is peace and quiet on the busiest coastline in Italy. There is a natural bay with fishing boats and a lovely short cliff walk with some small restaurants and nothing much else. But that's enough in itself...the sea is cristal clear and beautiful The hotel is pretty basic, the hotel restaurant is probably not the...

Very Nice hotel with private parking aside. Beautifull location in a little romantic bay Breakfast is very good and a lot of products sweet and normal are available to choose from. Dinner is perfect. Food is great and you can sit in or outside just 2 steps away from the beach and water. People are very helpfull and friendly.

We loved the Hotel Alfonso. The location is wonderful, literally on the beach. It is actually situated in furore. The room was a little basic, but the view from the balcony was great. The staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast included fresh fruit rather than fruit cocktail. The location is a pleasant change from the other busier reports....
