This hotel is very nice and has outstanding views of the old town and lake The ideal spot for a stay. The car park is secure and not too far away. The food in the restaurant is excellent however the service is very poor We ordered our food together and I had eaten my meal completely before my wife’s arrived. I also asked on three occasions for a drink but none came. I asked for the bill and left.

Hotel's Favourite
Lake view Superior room is wonderful with an unbelievable gorgeous view. Lot of bus tour groups, would guess rooms they get arent as nice. Free breakfast buffet was crowded with tour groups, food blah, coffee pretty good. Location of hotel and views is truly amazing, never seen a more beautiful view. As far as management it was a joke. Paid good money for room only to arrive and find gorgeous room with a huge puddle of standing water in bathroom and dirty clothes in open safe. Left to go to lunch and stopped at front desk, handed him a bag with dirty clothes and told him about puddle of water in bathroom. Came back 2 hrs later to find puddle still there. Go down to front desk, he tells me they are wating for evening housekeeping supervisor to determine if there is a leak or if it wasnt properly cleaned. At this point I loose my temper and read him a riot act. He comes up cleans puddle himself, apologizes and brings me up a small bottle of prosseco and a fruit tray to make amends. It turns out to be a leak and next morning same problem again. We go down to breakfast and complain at front desk. A different gentleman now tells us with an attitude that they are aware of the problem and will get to it when they can. Mind you we have no idea where this water is coming from or if its sanitary. I again have to loose my cool with this jerk on our nice vacation. We cant take showers we want to leave for the day. I sit down and write an email to their corporate email address. That was never acknowledged or answered. We left for awhile and when we came back they had cleaned room and fixed problem. Rest of stay was fine. At checkout they would not make adjustment to rate for problems we had and just stated that it had been fixed. Again nice hotel lousy management with bad attitude so beware.

The hotel is old, the rooms were fine, comfortable, AC worked but nothing luxurious. As non smokers, it was AWFUL! The wonderful breakfast room is technically outside with glass walls, and overhang. So they allowed smokers. HOW do they not cater to non smokers too? This is the number one reason I gave it two stars. The front desk guys were super helpful, and the restaurant servers super nice too. The breakfast was quite lame and the items not great quality. I cannot have milk, so they ordered almond milk for me, and got me an omelet daily. This was during COVID 19 time, some people were walking in without a mask and not much was done about it. The breakfast was strict with mask, and they gave you plastic gloves (which is sad to see so much plastic waste) would be better to serve you the food. Two coffee machines for 100+ people does not work either. Overall as a non smoker, do not stay in this hotel. EU needs to wake up and add non smoking areas outside as well!

Overall not a bad hotel. The location is technically speaking great - right at the town square and right next to the lake. The rooms are maybe a tad old-fashioned but super clean and comfortable. The AC works well, too. There are just two things that would not make me not want to stay here again, unfortunately. - Smoking is tolerated by the staff at breakfast. Pretty much every other morning, people light up cigarettes and the whole breakfast area stinks. There seems to be confusion among the staff for how to handle this. Some say it's not ok to smoke but most of them just tolerate it. It would be best to have a dedicated section for this. - The breakfast selection is very limited and there are just two coffee machines for the entire hotel. 10 min wait times for a coffee are the normal. Overall, we liked the hotel itself but breakfast was not that enjoyable despite the gorgeous views.

We had a spacious room - very comfortable with a large, well equipped bathroom. The air con unit was outside the window but it didn’t disturb us. Location is wonderful - on the lake side in a lovely square.
