Hotel Cavallino Bianco - Weisses Roessl boasts a central location in San Candido, which guests appreciate for its convenience. The hotel's historic charm is noted by some travelers, yet others find certain aspects outdated. Although the property is lauded for its cleanliness and spacious rooms, opinions are split on whether it lives up to its 4-star superior rating, with criticisms aimed at room quality and perceived value. The amenities, including the spa and dining options, generally receive high marks, but service and breakfast quality have room for improvement.

Great location, in the center of the village and 5 minutes walk from the slopes. The structure offers so many possibilities for fun and relaxation that you only enter the room to sleep but our room (the cheapest) was still large. The tavern plays cross and delight, was so beautiful and well stocked that every time to get out of the hotel you had to fight with the baby.
The family that hosted us was very kind, especially the daughter who, seeing our son (2 years old but shows 4-5) was worried that he was not comfortable in the camping bed and immediately had it changed to a single bed with side rail.
You can see that it is a place for families: apart from the games you see on their website, there are stools in the bathroom, armrests available in the pool, sledges (which charge 8 euros on the slopes), strollers, ... all for free.
Cleanliness from 10 and praise just because it is the highest grade you can give.
On the restaurant I have to say that I understand some reviews that expected something other than a 4-star superior; we too were a bit surprised on the first day both by the idea of having to choose in the morning what to eat in the evening (between 2-3 first courses and 2-3 seconds, the rest buffet) and by the proposal of the dishes, quite simple (like herb fish, roast with carrots, zucchini flan...). Instead I must say that all the dishes were very good -note of merit to the risotto- and that, living at restaurants for work, I definitely enjoyed a simple and quality cuisine, which winks at the territory but without proposing every night dumplings, with the right portions that enticed you to taste more things. But if you are looking for places where they put every day buffet the corner of pizzas, the corner of fish, the corner of meat etc, and where you eat every day exhaustion, it is not for you.
All the waiters in the room were more than professional and kind. The matron in particular knows how to do a lot with children, between surprises and jokes (and saved us with the idea of making him drink through a straw in a difficult moment) but the others were also impeccable.
The only criticism: we always took water for dinner (which we would have had free in the room) and at the end of the holiday we paid for it... I found it a bit strange... I would put a free jug and then charge those who ask anyway bottled or other drinks.

We have just returned from a week-long stay in which we were greeted beautifully. A tribute to the KĂĽhebacher family who run the facility with so much attention and dedication. Always present, careful that we are all perfect, that guests feel at their best and we always have all the comforts.
The large and beautiful room, tastefully decorated, huge bathroom with tub and shower, all spotless thanks to Mrs. Maria who took care of our room, but to emphasize the work of all the staff who takes care of cleaning especially the ladies Carmen and Carmela.
The perfect facility for families with children who can play in the well-equipped room of the mini club with the fantastic Lory who assists parents but also with older children who can enjoy bowling, table football, table tennis in addition to the indoor pool, various whirlpools, saunas, etc. some outside with views of the Dolomites.
Special mention to Cosimo and Valentino who cheered us up the evenings and pampered us during dinner, Sighi who does not stop for a moment and is always courteous and helpful, but above all Mr. John, the signota Renate and their exceptional daughter Barbara who we were really sorry to greet but we will definitely see again!
As for the food I was pleasantly surprised by the absolutely right portions avoiding the usual waste, sophisticated cuisine and very good thanks to the maitre Giacomo and his collaborators in the kitchen (cook, pastry chef, etc.).
I can only add that they deserve at least 10 stars and that we thank them again for this wonderful week!
Last but not least, parking and wifi available.

Necessary premise: the hotel is centrally located, in a beautiful historic building and we had a very good time. The staff, mostly seasonal, were very friendly and professional: in particular the brothers Manish and Rahul added a touch of cheerfulness and courtesy that made the difference. However, some things need to be reviewed: the wording "family hotel" requires the presence of a kids' club worthy of the name. It is not enough to set up a play area and then leave it to itself: the only point of reference is a nanny who practically only serves to assist the children while they eat. Another thing that is out of keeping with the category of the hotel is the management of the buffet: the food is good, it is possible to repeat the dishes listed on the menu as desired, but it is unthinkable to have to rush to have breakfast early in the morning because once the food the buffet is not replenished. Even the afternoon snack is a bit poor: in fact it is a mini aperitif in which drinks, including water, are paid for. And honestly, in a 4-star superior hotel, we had never had to pay separately for the water served at snack time or during dinner. The feeling you get is that in certain situations the aim is to save even though the bill for guests is quite high. Sin.

The Hotel Cavallino Bianco is a historic building located in the center of San Candido. Throughout the entire structure, which is really large, there is a magical atmosphere and every little space is taken care of down to the smallest detail. The hotel has many services, but even just the rooms with that atmosphere of times gone by and the welcome and kindness of all the staff would be enough to return there a thousand times. From now on it will certainly be my point of reference in San Candido: for lots of cuddles and good food. Thank you.

The highlight of this property is the location: perfectly in the center of S. Candido, so you never need to use the car to get around and enjoy the village which is very nice and served. The structure is historic, welcoming and clean, very friendly staff both waiting room and services.
Convenient possibility to take their hiking strollers included in the price of the stay.
The least satisfying elements are primarily the restaurant, absolutely not at the level of a 4 star but not even 3. Savings cooking, no typical products, reuse of ingredients, no dishes that really satisfied us. Even the children's menu is designed in canteen style, poorly balanced or varied.
Second element the services for families are not those of a family hotel. There is a playroom but no kind of entertainment or activities for children, there is a swimming pool but it is not really suitable for small children to play (very small least of all).
For the asking price and the family hotel category did not seem adequate, little attention to every aspect.

This family-friendly (and indeed everyone-friendly) hotel in the heart of the pretty village of San Candido Innichen is an ideal base for exploring the gorgeous Pustertal valley and stunning Drei Zinnen mountains to the south. Friendly staff and a comfortable room where we slept very well. We hiked from here (to the sibertal to the north) and took the efficient half hourly local train to other towns and villages in the valley - they are well worth exploring.

Definitely overrated, on our arrival we immediately asked for us to change the room but the owner replied in a piqued and unavailable way that there was no other room available so to not spoil the holiday immediately we made a good face at bad luck. The room we were assigned was small, furnished cheaply certainly not by 4 stars superior but perhaps not even by 3 stars, nothing to say about cleanliness but with two big problems. First, on the terrace of the room overlooks the bathroom window of the next room so you could hear the noises and smells of the neighbors to our great discomfort and I imagine even the neighbors of the room which is absolutely unheard of. Second, the blind bathroom during the night was filled with smells of drains that left only after turning on the ventilation for quite a while, moreover the room on the first floor overlooked an inner courtyard certainly not a sublime view and was above the kitchens to arrive noises and smells. Friendly staff but kitchen not up to standard, poor portions and if you arrived after 20:00 you risked finding the buffet empty, We did not use the SPA and other services because we preferred to use the hotel only to sleep and dine and stay out the rest of the time. Only positive note the cake
surprise for my wife's birthday, otherwise decidedly negative experience,

Hotel with great potential because it has a spa, swimming pool and a play area, but very poorly managed. They give the idea of being in decline. Avoid half board because the cuisine is absolutely not up to 4 star standards. Be careful with extras because some travel companions have been charged for grappas they never ordered. Terrible value for money.

We returned to the white horse after 8 years. The structure always has the charm of a historic hotel, well maintained. Spacious and clean rooms with attentive cleaning staff. Beautiful and complete spa and play area for children, although for the little ones would need a more engaging staff in entertainment. Extremely courteous and polite concierge. Note demerit: kitchen not up to the category and wait staff run by a maitre Cristian not prepared on the dishes, rude in the ways that suit his figure and with an excessively slow management of the service. A real shame for a structure so historically renowned. Alas I was literally teased by the maitre d' and his brother, also waitstaff, about the availability of some products for breakfast... lies and rudeness to follow. Experience never experienced before in this category. Thanks to the waiter Luigi who realized the unpleasant situation and with courtesy and great professionalism, he was ready to make up for the rudeness of others.

We stayed for the first time at the Cavallino Bianco in San Candido and from the first moment we were welcomed and pampered by the KĂĽhebacher family (the owners) as if in a 5-star family-run hotel, immediately making us feel serene and at home.
The room we chose is the KING room which I recommend both for its size, especially in the presence of babies and children, and for the typical Tyrolean furnishings.
The Hotel is in a strategic position in the center of San Candido, a magnificent village in the Pusteria Valley (in my opinion the liveliest and prettiest), equipped with parking, a beautiful SPA both indoors and outdoors and a large area games for children.
The owners and all the staff (bellhops, the Sala Maître Giacomo, all the Sala staff and the cleaning staff) are very kind and accommodated our every request.
Buffet, breakfast and dinner always very rich and with typical Tyrolean products.
Excellent cleanliness of the rooms and the hotel.

Non invadente, c’è una ragazza che fa giocare e cenare i bambini nell’area giochi. Dopo cena mette un po’ di musica per farli ballare ma sempre al piano sotto per cui non è di nessun fastidio ma al contrario ottimo per i bambini.

Ski slopes are in walking distance (5 min by foot). But you can leave your ski stuff (skis, boots etc) in special closets which are located directly at the end of the slopes (you will be charged around 60 eur for hiring a family closet for one week)
