In the midst of the charming Dolomites, in the well-known winter and summer vacation resort San Candido - Innichen, near Cortina d'Ampezzo, lies the PARKHOTEL SOLE PARADISO, a Jugendstil hotel recalling the splendours of Imperial Vienna. Welcome to a comfortable, elegant gem in a paradise for walkers, skiers and gourmets, where the inviting atmosphere created by over four generations of the Ortner family and the gastronomic refinements of a first-class-hotel predominate. The new Paradiso Wellness area with indoor swimming pool, finnish sauna, bio-sauna, turkish steam bath and fitness room, make your stay memorable. Each of the 36 homely bedrooms feature unique decor and furnishings: turn-of-the-Century, “roaring Twenties”, contemporary; all with bath/WC, Sat-TV, telephone, wall safe, hair-dryer, mini bar. In part with balcony or veranda. The Restaurant is opened every day from 12:00 - 13:30 and 19:00 - 20:30 with gourmet creations by resident chef Andreas Bachmann.
Star ratings are intended to indicate the general level of features, amenities, and services to expect. This property is classified according to Giata.
Background: I stayed at this hotel for work, so unfortunately I could not take advantage of all the services.
Appearance of the hotel It looks like an Old Style Hotel "being from 1882" which is very welcome, but not for this lack of amenities.
Services and Leisure On the ground floor are:
1 table football totally free 1 billiard room (a small flaw, the room is small) 1 room with table tennis and games for children 1 bar with tables and sofas 1 room for meetings 1 common TV room
In the basement there is the Wellness area consisting of:
1 swimming pool for adults and one for children open in the afternoon (free towels are available at the entrance of the pool) small gym , with the main "basic" equipment 2 Saunas and 1 Turkish bath (towels are available free of charge at the entrance to the Sauna area) here only adults can enter as the sauna can be naked. On request for a fee there are also massages (I do not know the price)
The rooms: I stayed in the 340 and I must say that it is a really nice room, consisting of a double bed and a single bed, two built-in wardrobes, cable TV "not smart", mini bar on request is connected to the power, a nice large bathroom "without window, but with suction" and a balcony. I have to say bad about the room just two trifles to be punctilious .... The floor has some "trough" and the balcony has the floor with spaces where you can see the terrace below (being made of wooden strips) and gave me the feeling of little security .... maybe it was just my feeling.
Cleaning: I must say excellent, always found the room tidy and clean, as indeed the rest of the Hotel always in perfect order. In fact I must honestly thank the cleaning lady, who made me find the pajamas folded and shoes always in order in the room ... (I'm a mess with the order)
Staff and Owners: The staff always kind and helpful even to the strangest requests (Tea Sambuca :) ) , the owner with the oldest lady were very kind and every day welcomed you with a smile. To the various requests made to anticipate breakfast or maybe change something have always satisfied our requests without blinking an eye.
Food: Excellent dinners, the waiting staff always ready to meet the various requests to change a dish on the menu without any problem. Breakfast , I fell in love with the cake with berries even if after 3 days they did not make it anymore :( ...but there is really a lot of choice and in addition you can ask the wait staff also the savory breakfast such as Eggs etc etc...
So concluding: I'm not forgetting the price, but simply having gone for work I could not give an assessment.... Great staff, good food and services ...
Thanks again for the hospitality and Kindness

We used this property for one night as a stopover on a trip to Austria. The hotel is truly a unique and rare pearl, very well-kept exteriors and interiors, and yes it is all made of wood and it must be a really demanding job. Fresh and restful garden, convenient parking, quiet location, but a few steps from the center of San Candido, well-kept room, ideal bathroom, truly regal breakfast, attentive and courteous service. The hotel manager, a lady with an exquisite Tuscan accent and gracious courtesy, personally went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed. This hotel is a piece of Italian history as you will see from the photos. It may happen that not everything is perfect, in 2023 finding and training staff is not easy, but you will be fine. I would also like to thank the owner with whom I happened to have a quick chat, for her courtesy and patience, apologizing for not being able to have dinner at the hotel, as I had a working lunch to promote the novel I am finishing. I will dedicate a longer stay to the area when I am passing through. Thank you, see you soon!

The Parkhotel Sole Paradiso is a fabulous historic hotel nestled in the park, but this can be seen from the photos on the web. What however cannot be photographed but only seen while staying in the facility, are the courtesy, professionalism and attention to the smallest details on the part of Mrs. Linda, her daughter Stefania, the maître Roberto and the entire staff. We felt at home, or rather, better, because such a good chef is not easy to find. I am gluten and lactose intolerant and the chef prepared a gourmet menu specific to my diet every evening (I repeat, every evening) of the two-week stay, without ever sacrificing the presentation of the dishes, the taste and the quality. Furthermore, any of our requests ranging from the room to the packed breakfast, or tips on the paths, were satisfied, and always with a smile. Our dog was welcomed like a member of the family, so much so that he was allowed to stay at the table with us, in the parlor specially reserved for guests with dogs in tow. The rooms are nice and clean. A place to recommend and worth returning to.

Original hotel a few steps from the center of San Candido along a very nice hiking trail. The hotel takes you back to times gone by. The rooms and furnishings have been preserved with great care, giving the impression of having returned to the 50s or 60s with today's comforts. I found the price-quality ratio a little too high, especially with reference to the too modest breakfast for such a precious (and expensive) hotel. Very clean and well-kept even in the wellness area and swimming pool. The swimming pool in summer would be a nice outlet on hot days but the closing of the French windows and the inconvenient need to make a tortuous turn to access it from the outside makes it less usable than one would expect. We didn't eat there but I think the cuisine is very good as you can smell the scent coming from the shining kitchen. The breakfast offering for lactose intolerant or vegan people is limited for a 4 star hotel. Staff all very friendly. In short, a hotel with a glorious past that should also look at the contemporary quality standard of hotels in the same price range in order to continue to uphold the name that its history has given it.

Hotel rich in history and style. Cozy rooms, very large. Free parking space Breakfast varied and plentiful, there is both the buffet and the Ă la carte menu and are both included in the price. Dinner with superior dishes combined with an excellent presentation. The mid-August evening was enlivened by the aperitif accompanied by delicious appetizers. There is the possibility to do the sauna and Turkish bath and swimming pool are included in the price I liked everything, the kindness, helpfulness, smile of the staff Absolutely to recommend!

Location surrounded by greenery 10 minutes from the center of S.Candido. Very courteous and helpful staff. Very well maintained and preserved structure. Gourmet cuisine with quantity and variety not typical of a 4-star structure in Trentino Alto Adige. The Deluxe room does not have a mini bar. Value for money absolutely out of line. I stayed with two small dogs weighing 8 kg each, the cost of the operation was 28 euros per night per dog exclusively for sleeping in the room assigned to us. A cost completely out of the market.

Historic hotel and also a bit 'aged in the structure although sufficiently cared for. Spacious rooms and some recently renovated, clean and tidy. Original restaurant service because never served local dishes but elaborate dishes that want to recall the principles of nouvelle coucine. Mediocre table service. Breakfast not cured. General facilities not up to a 4 star hotel. Price a bit high especially considering extra expensive (wines) and not adequate

I stayed thanks to a gift smartbox. Hotel in a wonderful setting. Although the season is not yet at full capacity we were treated very well. Excellent cleanliness of all rooms. The quality of the sleep and the rooms is very good. The SPA and the small swimming pool are very nice and welcoming. The breakfast is assorted and the waitress is very courteous. The structure is more than a hundred years old but the quality of both the internal and external environments is wonderful. If there is an opportunity we will definitely return. Highly recommended hotel!!

Big room and easy walking distance into san candido. The hotel was very well run and the staff helped us with info on buses x country routes and made you feel like nothing was any trouble. Food was good they adapted menu to vegetarian easily. Enjoyed the sauna and swimming pool too. Thanks for a lovely relaxing week.
