The hotel is very nice, within walking distance of the pedestrian area. The friendly and helpful staff for information about the area. We had a classic room with beds 90 x 200 cm and comfortable, the common areas are large and well cared for. Especially the garden is a real oasis. In the afternoon a free snack is offered with sweet teas, fruit, small sandwiches. Siamo stati benissimo!

We stayed here the week of August and we really enjoyed it. The hotel is in a great location, a short walk from the center, but in a very quiet spot. We appreciated the kindness and helpfulness of the staff and the owner. Excellent cuisine, a special praise to the young pastry chef who delighted us with refined desserts. Very appreciated also the opportunity to ask for something different from what is provided in the menu. Very, very nice area dedicated to the afternoon snack. Very nice common areas. The rooms, at least the standard ones, are not very large, but very comfortable. Varied and rich breakfast for both the sweet and savory (exquisite mini krapfen) Beautiful show with the folk group performed in the hotel day of August. Comfortable and quiet wellness area. The only thing I would suggest during dinner is to place families with small children in an area dedicated to them. High prices, main line with San Candido. It is one of those places where you want to come back and I would definitely recommend it.

I would remove the reference to fine cuisine from the site because it is misleading. Four stars deserved for the size and comfort of the rooms, the professionalism of the staff in both the living room and the floor, and cleanliness. The dinner, however, does not reflect the expectations induced by the site. The dishes are seasoned with unnecessary sauces that confuse the flavors or cold. Examples. On New Year's Eve they served us an "iced" grilled vegetable pie, in the following days Tyrolean ravioli drowned in a tomato cream, fish hidden under an indefinable cream, well-crafted desserts with industrial flavours. My opinion contrasts with that of many reviews but I am used to evaluating quality as well as presentation and for those who do not know the local cuisine I suggest having lunch in some mountain hut to get to know the true flavors of the typical dishes. The clientele includes many families with children NOT looked after by their parents who run around the refreshment rooms and in the swimming pool creating inconvenience to the staff and other guests. The SPA is managed by a good masseuse but with cold hands and this even with hot oil creates an unpleasant sensation especially in a poorly heated room. The daily trips are not exclusive to the hotel but are offered by the tourism board and only one requires the accompaniment of the owner.

I booked a stay from 4 to 8 September 2023 attracted by the good reviews and the location. I chose a standard room as I didn't have any major needs (even if the bathroom with tub is not presentable these days). Unfortunately, the 4 stars are, in my opinion, overestimated compared to the structure: the furnishings are uneven (modern and other environments alternate decidedly dated) all filled with furniture of questionable taste scattered here and there throughout the hotel. Our restaurant area was confined to a sort of bright but cold veranda, with wicker chairs that I found more suitable for a gazebo in the garden than for a mountain restaurant. The menu and buffet, however, were to our liking (varied offering and generous portions). We were unable to finish the holiday as we had to return due to a bereavement and we still had to pay in full for the nights booked even though the hotel was partially empty. Having signed up for the insurance, I was confident in the reimbursement, but I was told that my partner's first cousin is not a close family member so I was not entitled to any reimbursement for the nights not used. I have been frequenting Alto Adige in facilities of the same level for 10 years and I believe that there are much better alternatives while remaining in the same price range. The fourth star is probably given by default to all the structures in San Candido.

It is not the first time we have spent our holidays at Villa Stefania. The reasons for returning have always been location, both in general and within the town, structure, environments, services and above all the cuisine. However, we believe it is right to emphasize the courtesy and availability of all the staff, truly commendable, a real added value!

Fantastic experience in San Candido. Lovely hotel, very professional and helpful staff, excellent food, fantastic superior room. Since my husband and I are walkers, we did all the snowshoe excursions, organized by the tourist office guides and included in the stay. Even the walk with the owner of the hotel was spectacular and she was truly a force of nature. He also gave us great tips for going on solo walks. Many thanks to all.

Returning to Villa Stefania for the fifth time was like coming home. Everyone, from the management to the staff, to the chefs, pampered us as only they can. It was nice to savor and enjoy, even visually, all the delicacies prepared by the chefs. Our Dolomiti suite remained welcoming, warm and restful. Villa Stefania is a mood to experience every year. A heartfelt thank you to the splendid Ortner Family and to all the collaborators and see you soon. Vincenzo De Fazio

Very nice and welcoming structure, full of services for customers! We especially enjoyed the swimming pool with several whirlpools and water jets, the sauna and Turkish bath, the chromotherapy and the beds for the reading corner: really regenerating after a day spent walking!
The restaurant is of great quality with particular attention to people with food intolerances! Really welcome the proposal of afternoon snack with herbal tea tasting in the ancient hall of the hotel!
