This family run hotel, set to the edge of the town of Innichen is a great example of how things should be done. For me, I don’t want ‘home from home’, I like to be looked after and to be made to feel that I’m on holiday, and that’s exactly what the Tyrol does.
The attention to detail on all fronts is second to none. Observing at breakfast time the care with which the staff polished each item of tableware whilst laying up for the evening service was a lesson in how to do it right. This extended through to the friendly but professional waiting staff and the food served both in the dining room and the bar canapés, all of which were beautifully presented. The Thursday evening dessert buffet was not only a feast for the eyes but a delight for the taste buds!
The daily servicing of our well appointed room was exemplary, even the wooden stool in the bathroom had protective felt on the bottom of its legs to ensure a smooth and quiet glide across the tiled floor. One small note for file, a door stop is needed on the floor in the bathroom of room 329. The inside door handle is beginning to make an indentation on the wall tile when the door is opened fully.
The Spa and Wellness Centre is also well serviced providing all that is required after a full day of skiing, also the gym is adequate for holiday training. I was fortunate to squeeze in a massage during my stay and as with everything else here, it was very good. Thanks to each and everyone at the Tyrol for a great experience, you do it well!

Dear guest, thank you so much for this fantastic review! We are truly delighted to hear that your experience at the Tyrol met your expectations so perfectly. It's wonderful to know that the attention to detail and the level of care provided by our team made you feel truly looked after and on holiday. We strive to offer the very best service, and your kind words about everything from the breakfast service to the spa and wellness centre are incredibly rewarding. We also appreciate your feedback regarding the door stop in room 329 – it’s something we will definitely look into. Rest assured, we are constantly working to improve every aspect of our guests' experience. It was a pleasure having you with us, and we're so glad you enjoyed the food, the Dolomiti Spa, and the overall ambiance of the hotel. Splendid hotel with garden located behind the pedestrian area of San Candido (a few kilometers from Lake Braies and other unforgettable tourist attractions), a priceless location for those who want to walk in the town even after dinner.
We appreciated the cleanliness of the rooms, the cuisine (excellent, with a wide variety of quality products for both breakfast and dinner) and, above all, the extreme courtesy and helpfulness of all the hotel staff ready to satisfy any possible need. (special thanks to Alissa, Angela and Sara - legendary pastry chef - of the dining room staff, excellently directed by the maitre Alessandra).
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

It was a positive experience in every respect. From the reception to the final greetings we felt well liked and welcomed as in a big family. The staff, professional, courteous but not detached, helpful and friendly but not intrusive. Excellent cuisine, from the breakfast decidedly hearty between sweet and savory to dinner dishes with various courses related to local tradition but not only. Delicious desserts, a joy for the eyes and the palate. The Spa area also largely met my expectations helping to make our stay a pleasant relaxing break. The central location facilitates and facilitates transport to reach the various locations and allows pleasant walks in the center of San Candido.

Excellent hotel, courtesy, efficiency and attention are in my opinion the main features. During my stay at this hotel I was able to appreciate the high operational standing of all departments from reception to kitchen via the spa.
In the kitchen I was struck by the preparation of the dishes and their packaging with very high attention to detail. The very courteous and efficient room operators always available and kind. The receptionists who with their professionalism and courtesy have become my point of reference for the satisfaction of my every request and the resolution of my problems.
In conclusion, a hotel where you feel pampered and the center of attention.

We would recommend this family run hotel and agree with all recent comments on Trip Advisor.
All the staff were friendly and helpful . The reception staff arranged all our requests promptly and the morning shuttle bus to the station for the ski train was most efficient . This is the best way to get to either the Drei Zinnen slopes(versciaco station) or Kronplatz where the Percha lift is on the platform ! ( an area lift pass is required) . The hotel has also the ski bus timetables and routes ( most on circular routes so beware going in the wrong direction!) An alternative ski bus from the car park entrance of the hotel takes you to the nearest local slopes and then on to Sexten .
The bar is well stocked with a local unfiltered beer and the barman makes excellent spritzers and snacks .
An outstanding member of staff is the Sommelier (Fabio) and his recommendations especially on the local wines are consistently good . He is most attentive and knowledgeable.
The restaurant food we would judge to be of very high standard and all the waiters and waitresses were observant and considerate with language skills to help .
Our room on the third floor was large and well equipped with a lovely high ceiling and sunny balcony with Mountain views. All spotlessly clean as was the pool and spa area .
In the basement there is a large pool table and for sports fans a large TV with Sky Sports for major sporting events .
A large library area ,separate kids playroom , heated boot room and lounge area with log fire complete the amenities.
We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay in a faultless hotel . The Tyrol is adjacent to the pedestrian centre of a lovely smart and quiet town . The hotel guest card ( free) allows unlimited ski train and bus service and although ski access is not the most convenient with a little reception advise and use of the guest card one soon gets the hang of the location .

Dear Mr. Barber, thank you for your many compliments. We are very happy to have been able to host you here at Il Tyrol****s in San Candido. Attention to detail towards the customer is what has always characterized us and pushed us to improve ourselves more and more every day. You have already listed many of our strong points, but don't forget that we also have a beautiful wellness area with swimming pool, whirlpool and area dedicated to saunas with 4 different cabins and relaxation room. In addition, our colleagues at the Dolomiti Spa are always available to spoil our guests with wonderful face and body treatments and relaxing massages. We look forward to hosting you again! Greetings from Monny, Giovanna and all the staff happy to meet you! OUR HOUSE, YOUR HOTEL

Also this year, JANUARY 2025, I stayed for a week at the Sporthotel Tyrol and I could find, if possible, even more attention to the customer, variety in the kitchen always very accurate and abundant, cleanliness of the rooms and wellness services compared to last year. Absolutely recommended. Ferrero Franco

We returned to this hotel after the excellent summer experience for our ski holiday. Very convenient location, especially for reaching the Baranci slopes with the little girl. The hotel's care can be felt immediately upon entering the hotel when you are surrounded by a delicious scent. We had a problem with the room and moved to another solution on the second day. The rooms are all beautiful and very clean. Special mention for the dining room staff who pampered us with professionalism and attention. The animator Jennifer was very good, Chiara loved her!
See you soon!

Commendable strategic position, ski slopes 2 minutes away on foot or by shuttle, places to visit such as Lake Braies, Prato Piazza, and other places just a few minutes away by car or bus, among other things, with a hotel reservation you travel for free by train and bus throughout the region, impeccable service and cleanliness, sauna, swimming pool, Turkish bath, emotional showers, herbal tea room, wonderfully pleasant, catering service with truly gourmet menus and dishes, 10-star services and courtesy. The place is enchanting, a true paradise that excites you and makes you live a magical experience. Wait for me, I will certainly return

We stayed at this hotel in the village of San Candido which I highly Recommendation to visit because it is a very lively town with really nice people. Superior 4-star hotel and proves them all: attic room but very large and hassle-free for those like me who are tall and risk taking heads to the wooden beams. The room also had a balcony overlooking the nearby mountains and had all the comforts: bathrobe and slippers for relaxation area and pool, possibility to change the sheets when you asked, wellness set in the bathroom. The only flaw but not the fault of 'hotel is the sun beating in the afternoon and in the evening the room was a bit 'hot. Breakfast and dinner always abundant with buffet of appetizers and choice for first course and dessert made at breakfast for the evening. Swimming pool with sun loungers and a small whirlpool for my son's happiness while we parents enjoyed every afternoon the very large spa with various types of sauna and relaxation areas. They proposed excursions with the tourist office of San Candido which were beautiful thanks to the really passionate Guide and who literally took us by the hand leading us to touch the highest peaks. The thing that struck me, however, is the attention to the customer that all employees of the hotel have, starting from the owners always present and careful that everything was fine up to the waiters who strove to give you not a plate of pasta but their love for the work they did: wonderful. There would be many things to say such as the commitment not to disappoint our desire to make an excursion that was all full and that thanks to the commitment of the guys at the reception we were able to do. The only thing to say is thank you for the welcome and if we return to San Candido it will definitely be at Tyrol.
