Detailed Reviews
We spent three nights in this idyllic setting. The Malga Ces Restaurant/Hotel sits in the mountains a couple of hundred metres above San Martino. If you want fresh air, excellent service, and stay in one of the most picturesque places in Italy, this is the place to stay. Oh by the way the Italy red wine in this region is excellent.

The Malga Ces is a beautiful Tyrolean chalet-style restaurant with rooms, in a secluded location halfway up a mountain at the end of a dead-end road, 2 kilometres from the village of San Martino di Castrozza. We stayed for a week and really didn't want to ever leave, it's such a perfect place. Rooms are spacious and comfortable, with private balconies with views looking out across the valley to the nearby peaks of the Dolomites. The restaurant is terrific, with local meats and produce and a good choice of wines from around northern Italy. We enjoyed our pre-dinner ritual of a glass of prosecco in the bar area each evening before dinner, and a grappa after dinner. Service at this family-owned hotel is very welcoming and attentive - we felt very well looked-after the entire time we were there.

We stayed at Malga Ces for 4 nights in January 2015 with another couple. The accommodation is excellent and immaculately clean with comfortable beds with great views of the valley, the ski slopes and the Dolomites. We loved the fact that you could ski into the hotel to grab a quick lunch and at then end of the day you could ski into where you were staying. The highlight was the food which was exceptional. Over the four nights none of us had a meal which was anything less than excellent with lots of regional dishes on the menu. Overall we had a wonderful stay and would love to go back again.

We stayed at Malva Ces for four nights, our room was clean, big and had the most incredible view of the mountains. The location is perfect if you are going to ski. You literally ski off the slopes into the hotel.
We also ate breakfast and dinner at the restaurant. We did not have one bad meal! The food was delicious we tried almost every meal and we could not fault a single meal. The food was definitely 10/10!!!!
I would visit Malga Ces every year if I could and would highly recommend it

We discovered this alpine gem through Leonardo, an Italian film location scout. He wrote “I have found a mountain paradise for you. High above the old village. Amazing view. Tranquil setting. Superb restaurant.”. He was right. The staff was friendly and expert, all led by the warm and capable owners Maria-Giovanna and Marco. This albergo (inn) was recently restored, but has kept its old-world charm. The fine bed linens were crisp and ironed, the new bathrooms spotless. Different oriental rugs in each bed room.
The dining room overlooks a splendid vista down the valley. A friendly bar on one end, the capacious kitchen on the other. The chefs wear white hats and take their cooking seriously. I had local prosciutto and fresh mozzarella buffa for a starter, and then a hearth-roasted selection of tender local lamb and pork tenderloin. The wine selection was carefully chosen by Marco from the nearby Trentino area. The apple strudel was delicately flavored, not to mention an array of homemade fruit tarts. We finished with an expresso and a local grappa.
No need for a bus from the village, we skied directly to the private ski storage room, and even had lunch here daily, the food was so fine. Looking forward to coming back for hiking in the summer.

Excellent food, the french cook has picked up the local cuisine and improved it. Very good value if you compare quality and price. Beautiful rooms. But, above all, it's super quiet at night, not in the madness of S. Martino town. Incredible view, wonderful sunset. Staff is professional and friendly. Manager speaks a little English.... If you love mountains and peaceful places this is the place to go.

Beautiful structure, completed by impeccable service and courtesy of the owners. From this location many hiking trails start in the middle of nature. Nice and comfortable rooms. The restaurant offers dishes that are a meeting between refinement and tradition. I have been to many places, I will remember this and will return.

We stayed one night in Half Pension. Our room was not in the central structure but in the renovated stable. It's actually an apartment. Excellent cleanliness and sleep quality. The morning view is spectacular with perfect views of the blades of San Martino and towards the colbricon and the slopes that descend. About the restaurant I confirm that the menu is very varied and the execution of the dishes is of the highest level. Prices are in line with the offer and the location. We will definitely be back!. Thank you all : from owners to employees to waiters etc.etc.

Just above San Martino di Castrozza, there is a wonderful place which is the Malga Ces. Arrived on - on foot or by car, because you can also reach by car - you can, first of all, admire an unforgettable panorama, where the Pale di San Martino and, in the distance - but not too much - the Rosalpina Pond, which has a particular fluorescent strip that makes it unique...
Then, once you have admired the view (and the Pond, Recommendation), it's time to enter Malga Ces and order...
I had never been before in this beautiful place and, definitely, I will go back... because I ate very well, in a very nice and welcoming environment...
To taste absolutely homemade pasta, excellent (I opted for truffle tagliolini), but not only.
I also tasted the cheese fondue as an appetizer and the Ces dish for main course (sausage, tosela, polenta and mushrooms) and I found everything really very good.

Non saprei, mi pare di non averne mai visti, ma mi sembra strano, vista la gentilezza ed accoglienza del locale: consiglio di telefonare.
