Hotel dated and never maintained. Rooms suitable for hosting only groups of children up to 20 years old who, by their nature, have few demands. Director Antonella and waiter Vincenzo followed us throughout the holiday, trying to meet our every need. They were really very helpful and nice. Poor breakfast but lunch and dinner with good food.

The Excelsior and its location takes your breath away in every corner. Incredible facilities and amenities.
The dinning service does not match the hotel. Either understaffed or poor timing. Waiters were rushed to take your order, predicting before you actually ordered. Plates arrived at very different timing (my wife ended up waiting a long time for her dish). Seems you have to raise your hand to often to get some water or another glass of wine.

My family and I stayed in this property from 29 December to 4 January 2024. The style is certainly rather vintage and the rooms a bit spartan, but the value for money is very good. Clean and equipped with everything, with an excellent location both for those who practice skiing and for those who prefer to engage in excursions or other activities. Very close to everything. The cuisine is more than satisfactory and always varied. But the added value of this structure is the staff who do their utmost to make your stay truly pleasant. From reception to entertainment (Stefano is great), everyone is kind and helpful. But the star definitely goes to the guys in the room, their impeccable professionalism and courtesy who won us over. Some names, in particular, deserve our thanks: "Francesco, Raffaele and Gino". Tireless workers and great professionals. Thank you guys.
I highly recommend it!
The only sore point is the elevator which requires more maintenance.

The structure has a few years behind it and this, in my opinion, if on the one hand it may seem like a deficit, from the point of view of those traveling with children in tow it is an added value. The structure, well located in the middle of San Martino, enjoys a breathtaking panoramic view; the distance from the ski school is small and in any case well connected by the skybus, excellent for those just starting out in skiing.
Breakfast and dinner are a bit spartan, but there is a wide choice of courses and variety of products, almost always in line with the season. Warm room, despite it being the top floor, dignified and sufficiently clean; beds at the limit of comfort, the bed bases could tell some good things, but after having skied for a day, you sleep well everywhere.
The staff is very heterogeneous and it is therefore easy to stumble upon a competent employee or a novice, but they were all courteous and kind to us. A special note goes to the entertainment staff, very friendly and confidential who know how to involve and not stress you out; organizes always interesting activities for non-skiers every morning and entertains the children in the afternoon; in the evening it involves guests with fun and classic activities. Stefano and Francesca were very discreet and decidedly soft. Perfect entertainment for those who, tired, want to end a beautiful day with a smile.
We carry in our hearts these beautiful days spent in San Martino.

Let's start by talking about quality-price, for the price they offer you can't expect anything:
the cleanliness of the room and the hotel leaves a little to be desired, in the bathroom of the room there was a very strong smell of sewage, very thin and uncomfortable mattresses and pillows.
For the bunk beds in the quadruple rooms they have not put any ladders and you have to climb on bedside tables to get up, nor any side rails.
There would be a need for maintenance work, there have been many malfunctions (including broken doors and poorly functioning electricity)
Unqualified and rude staff at times.
the hotel bar offers drinks but very often the products were missing and there was very little choice.
the food, obviously was not the best (canteen cuisine) but I repeat for the price paid it is acceptable.
One thing that is very well organized is the entertainment, the entertainers organize very nice outings and evenings for both adults and children.
A very favorable thing for this hotel is its strategic position in the center of S Martino but also for the breathtaking view behind it.

Very old hotel and questionable management...
We stayed in three people, our room was equipped with a small wardrobe with no shelf and only 4 hangers to hang clothes so we had to leave everything inside the suitcases. Pretty comfortable beds, clean linen. The bathroom was completely inadequate due to dirt residue on the wall, non-working flush (a sheet had been hung informing not to use the button but to use the lever at the top), black limestone in the shower glass, floor with dirt residue in particular in the corners.
The staff would also be friendly but the management is terrible in fact as customers we have witnessed recriminations between the Manager and the Mater of the room and quarrels between kitchen employees audible from the dining room... These things cannot be accessed in front of guests, inadmissible I'm sorry.
I happened to meet a maid in tears on the stairs.
The food is good and the quantities are also generous.
The elevator can be used up to the first floor, then only by unlocking with a key, not available to customers, so you go on foot or you must ask the staff, holder of the key, to be accompanied.
The tourist tax is incomprehensibly requested at check in.
Beautiful bar room where there is a pool table.
Great location of the hotel, superb view. The structure to be comfortable would need renovation.

4 nights stay with half board. Hotel located downtown with parking available, convenient to reach all area attractions both on foot and by car.
Great breakfast with a wide choice, buffet dinner with different choices but very poor quality of dishes and some inedible.
Staff mostly not up to the management of the room with great confusion and disorganization (given also by the presence of groups of elderly people), nothing to say about the reception.
Rooms to review and modernize, dilapidated bathrooms with tiny showers to the point of not even being able to turn inside.
3 stars only for the price paid.
Hotel with great potential, but needs to be reviewed in full.

Excellent value for money, because the price is low and the location is convenient both for excursions and for the ski bus that takes you to the slopes. It is also close to all services, reachable on foot in a few minutes, such as pharmacies, rentals and shops. Older structure and some disservices, but we imagined it to be a Low Cost. Nice surprise however, the staff, always very kind, and the cuisine, which we liked, buffet service and good choice. Well organized New Year's Eve party and super entertainment!

Excellent location in the centre of the village and close to the main ski lift. 80s atmosphere, clean and tidy rooms with fantastic views of the Pale di San Martino. Well-functioning services and adequate catering with extensive menu and daily revisited. Staff always friendly and helpful. We stayed a week from 28 July to 3 August with two ebikes in tow which was guaranteed an adequate shelter in the reserved area and served by charging sockets. Experience to be redone even in winter.

I booked a mini holiday with my family to spend a few days in the snow. Pleasantly impressed by the welcome and helpfulness of the staff.
Our room, even with a balcony and a view of Pale, was clean and comfortable, had everything you needed. We had dinners included, great quality food.
I have to say that we had a really good time
The top facilities, ski school and rental are very helpful and then in agreement with the hotel they gave us a nice discount
Thank you and we will come back to see you
