Always a pleasure to visit Berghotel in Moos. You are met with a warm welcome from the reception and your room is ready with your wishes. In the restaurant the staff offers you nice and polite attention, always ready with a smile and good service. Not to forget Mauro´s bar! This time we tried gin tasting with Maximillian, this was a great experience provided by a passionated young man. We love the scent in the soap and body lotion, don´t ever change these:) The scent is synonymous with BERGHOTEL!
See you next year.

I would say very warm. For us as a family with 2 children it was a super holiday. We were at the zirm, in a stube apartment made entirely of wood that smelled of pine. In the elevator there is a picture that shows the origin of Val Senales. We walked around, usually sensitive to the cold, in short t-shirts. The pools were beautiful, perfect views, breathtaking. The external one a few degrees more wouldn't hurt. Very refined environment and spa with comfortable relaxation areas. The limestone massage was truly successful, everything in perfect harmony between antique and patina
and chic elements, pieces of art, even perhaps questionable entertainment, very interesting paintings, in short, class and style at a level that few can find. A unique hotel with a lot of soul. Just wander through the corridors of the central house to understand that this is more of a large house than a hotel and with a soul that you can feel. Far far from a mainstream or chain Hotel. We ate very well. I was absolutely surprised how they live their philosophy (I read it before booking). they find the balance between pleasure and wasting less. They do interesting things, they give you the opportunity to participate and do your part to safeguard the environment and waste less, without limiting you, on the contrary it gives you the feeling of doing something right that makes sense e.g. you choose when to change the napkins or choose the menu the night before to know the portions to prepare and not throw anything away. My husband eats like a bricklayer, and they always give him an extra. Organic and zero km products. They show in the room where the goods come from on a table with a statistical pyramid, I forgot to ask better how they know so well, where their food comes from. Over 85% from Italy and the rest fair trade. I forgot to ask further where they know so well where their food comes from
For us it was a wonderful experience and at home our children changed the waste separation system and adopted the placemat system. Thanks to everyone, collaborators and special, super professional staff and to Chief Walter, who solved a little problem for us in an instant, after which we had notified the reception. We have already booked for the winter

A guarantee for a nice stay.
We returned to this hotel for the fourth time in August. We met him about 20 years ago... the structure has grown further, with beautiful spaces that are always pleasant and well-kept. It is always very clean and fragrant. Particular praise goes to all the staff who, in addition to being professional, are always kind and smiling, ready to resolve any request for help.
There are large relaxation spaces and areas reserved for those seeking peace and silence.
The room is beautiful, comfortable and equipped with everything the category requires.
Excellent starting point for many walks of any level.
A renewed round of applause for the breakfast and dinner buffet which has an incredible offer and is all of high quality. Remarkable wine list with local proposals that deserve a taste.
How can we not also notice the green commitment? Weekly bus pass for the valley included which avoids the use of cars, water always available, fresh and good, which avoids the use of bottles, the invitation to reduce washing laundry if not necessary.
There are so many proposals in the weekly program that it is not possible to explore everything.
What else can I say! And then…
A website in 12 languages, library, billiard room, table football, spa, chopsticks if you've forgotten them, bikes... what else could you need?
I try hard to find a flaw: with all the nature that surrounds it, no to plastic flowers/plants on the tables. Perhaps the mark-up on wines is a little excessive.

For couples without children looking for a relaxing vacation, the Berghotel Sesto should be avoided. Our experience was disappointing and we will definitely avoid this hotel in the future. Our stay started off on the wrong foot; a porter to help with the luggage was nowhere to be seen. We waited a full 20 minutes the underground garage (at least the parking was free) before we ended up carrying our own suitcases through the endless long corridors. They were adorned with deer antlers, worn-out carpetes and a mix of different, rather chaotic styles. During our stay, the hotel was filled with many children, causing a lot of noise, especially in the SPA area. Not even the newly designed indoor pool with a forrest motif could offer any tranquillity. Kids were running through the relaxation rooms and phones were ringing constantly; it was simply dreadful. Another downside was the hotels's approach to sustainability. While understandable to a certain extent, being asked to reuse cloth napkins for several day is unreasonable, especially with a daily rate of nearly 400 Euros. Additionally the table was set only with water glasses and wine glasses were available only upon request. There are definitely better hotels in the Three Peaksrei area with a more balance price-performance ratio.

Response from Walter Holzer, General Manager at Berghotel
Responded Aug 10, 2024
hello Mr. Matthew, i would like to respond because i think there are several missunderstandigs. 4 example: "being asked to reuse cloth napkins for several day is unreasonable" - you were not asked to reuse it, but you can if you want - if not you get a new napkin also twice a day, or "the table was set only with water glasses and wine glasses were available only upon request" - if you order a wine, you get the right wine glass depending on what wine you choose, or "We waited a full 20 minutes the underground garage" and the porter waited in the check in area at you. That our "chaotic style" is not for everybody, we know and we don't expect that everybody likes it. The Berghotel is a place for all generations - from children to grand parents and if somebody does not like children there are specialised hotels where they don`t allow children. many greetings Walter Holzer

Our first stay at the Berghotel left us very satisfied. You immediately perceive a pleasant and familiar atmosphere, which makes you feel at ease at all times. The location is strategic because, despite being in the town center, it is located in a quiet side street, with a very panoramic view of the mountains of Val Fiscalina. The furnishings of the room and the common areas, dining room, reading and relaxation areas are very beautiful, all in wood and with typical objects that always recall the mountains. We appreciated the choice of dinner menus, the rich buffets with excellent, fresh local food, and the outdoor sauna where you can warm up on bad weather days. The mountains, of course, do not require evaluation, they are always magical places where you can regenerate and find harmony with nature. We hope to return to the Berghotel, to discover the rich program of guided excursions.

We spent a few days at the Berghotel in Sesto. The room was small, but comfortable. The furnishings both in the room and in the rest of the hotel are pleasant. Cleanliness good. The bathroom however was too small. Excellent shower even if small, for changing the bathrobe they ask for a supplement of 8 Euros, actually the slippers cost 3 Euros and then they are plastic?! ... something absurd for a 4*s! Average food, good apart from the desserts. The most problematic thing about the hotel for us was that the swimming pools were too small for the number of people. Unfortunately it was often frequented by noisy children whose parents did not keep them under control. The environment already predisposed to the acoustic boom became unusable. This forced us to rush to the pool immediately after returning from the walks, hoping to beat the kids to the punch! But it was quite stressful! Finally, we appreciated the kindness of the dining room staff, especially Mauro at the bar!

We were very impressed. Everything was perfect. A great wellness area, the food was a delight and a feast for the eyes every evening. The breakfast was very plentiful. Most of the ingredients for breakfast and the evening menu came from the region. I thought that was great. The location of the hotel is perfect. You don't need a car to go hiking.
The topic of sustainability is very important in this hotel. No individual packaging of food, reusable napkins in the evening, regional products in organic quality.
The staff, whether at the reception, behind the bar, the waiters or the cleaning staff, were always very friendly and attentive.
The view of the Dolomites was magnificent and the room furnishings were simply warm. All in all, it was a great vacation and it was a very relaxing 6 days in the mountains.
We would love to come back, keep up the good work.

We happen almost by chance in this hotel on one of the most popular weekends in mid-August. Who knows what will await us, given the risky crowding that characterizes certain sites during the high season ..
Reaching the place is very easy, the road that climbs slightly from the village lays the foundations for a location that will prove strategic.
The reception is warm and enveloping, the kindness of the staff at the reception impeccable. We are given an overview of the hotel, instructions for the convenient covered parking of the property, and we are given the room key.
The room is very nice and well maintained, almost no detail is left to chance. The balcony gives on the "inside" side, so we still do not know what awaits us. On the other hand we booked at the last minute in a period of great demand.
After settling in, we decide to spend the afternoon between the pools and the spa of the structure.
The surprise is overwhelming: the view from the hotel's main terrace, around which the terraces of the relaxation area are designed, takes your breath away. The sundial of Sexten in all its splendour is the backdrop to an afternoon of refreshing rest.
The indoor Spa area is also magnificent, dotted with remarkable treatment options and several sauna options, the largest of which also offers a sundial window - one of the best encountered so far.
If the location can be a "fortune", not so applies to the service and attention related to dinner, breakfast. And even on this front the structure exceeds expectations. A rich and well-kept buffet, where there is no shortage of genuine and quality ingredients, ranging from countless options to ensure a rich menu even for the most demanding guest.
We leave the next day happy to have discovered a place as exceptional as pleasant, supported by a helpful, attentive and professional staff.
Thank you!

Berghotel was a special hotel for us as a family. It is a very warm and welcoming hotel. Our room had a lovely mountain view. The room was spacious and very comfortable.
The hotel has outdoor heated pool and an outdoor heated jacuzzi as well. All of the spa amenities as well as the pools were accessible for children. Children can opt to have a massage too!

The hotel has access to ski slopes right next to it, so its great for those ski lovers too.

There was a various selection of different delicacies during breakfast as well as we various typical plates of the area during dinner too. The food was delicious and genuine. We also got the tea/coffee/ cake time which the hotel offers along with an amazing ambience where you can sip your tea and relax with the family.

Many of the foods were bio/organic foods grown in the area; hence having pure and genuine food.

We experienced a live band: "Cose di Famiglia" of which these two brothers played great songs with a passion. That was a hit for us we must admit as we love the rock style music playlist chosen to play by them :)

The spacious kids/games area whereby our daughter enjoyed playing all sorts from wall climbing to snooker and other games and we with her too.

The reception staff were all so very friendly and kind, whenever we needed or asked any help or information they where very helpful and spoke very good English too!

The hotel boasts lovely artworks of which we are art lovers so that was an extra plus for us indeed.

The hotel is close to other villages such as San Candido Dobbiaco, Cortina and other lovely villages and also close to Austria for those who would like to go.

A hotel to treasure and to return back to!

Oh yes, the cat and dog were so adorable too :) xx

Well done.

Love from Malta

Enrica A asked a question Apr 2017
