One of the nicest hotels I've ever visited. The food is excellent (well worth going half board) the staff and owners are all very friendly and helpful, the rooms clean and well equipped (they even have free self service laundry) . Convenient for the beach and the train station. Its easy to reach the Cinque terre villages by train for day trips but mucn more relaxed and just as pretty to stay in Sestri Levante. The Marina hotel is Italy at its welcoming best.

We returned to the hotel after 15 years and found that everything was as good as we had remembered it. The room is tidy and has got everything you need. The service is friendly we were pleased to find that the same family still runs the hotel. Everyday we were looking forward to the evening meal which was always very good. My favourite was the large selection of antipasti. The big breakfast buffet was also nice. If we go to Sestri Levante again I would certainly return to Albergo Marina

The hotel is only a 5 minute walk from the train station in nice and peaceful Sestri Levante. The location was good for going by train to both Cinque Terre and the Italian Riviera. The lobby is nice and is attached to the restaurant. The room was large, clean, quiet, with a comfortable bed and a large bathroom with a good shower and towels. A safe is in the room. Wifi was good until an external problem arose. Breakfast had a nice assortment. The owner was helpful in giving hints and schedules.

Our favorite stay during our Europe travels last summer. We have already booked again for next summer! We were pleasantly surprised by everything. The lobby and grounds are much nicer and bigger than the website shows! Everything is very clean. The elevator and air conditioning are top notch. The breakfast was one of the best we've experienced. You can also purchase dinner, which we loved. We actually thought the appetizers for dinner were the main course since there was so much to choose from. All of the food is fresh and you can even watch them prepare the meals. Magda and Santo (brother and sister) have done an excellent job, from their beginning help in planning through emails, to guiding you during your stay. We had a room that slept 3, even though we were only 2. The extra space was nice. There was a refrigerator in our room, and a kettle for heating water. The room was kept very clean during our stay, and all the help/staff were extremely friendly and helpful. It is a short walk into the old town, to the beach or to the bay. This location is perfect. We have stayed twice in the Cinque Terra and decided to try Sestri Levante to avoid the crowds. We were suprised to find this hotel to be as nice as our Cinque Terra stay and this town and beach as wonderful also! The train station is a close walk, and you can easily reach many hiking areas and other beaches/towns by train. We rented a kayak on the beach for a resonable price and had a lovely afternoon paddle. In fact, we found the prices in this town to be a great budget. Given the excellent accommodations, delicious food, great location, and friendly experience, I give Albergo Marina one of my highest recommendations!

The location was brilliant. Only five minutes walk from the station, so access to the coast (The Cinque Terre etc) and approximately ten minutes to a superb beach - The Bay of Silence. Room was fine - small, but very very clean, quiet, air conditioning, small balcony with opportunity to dry clothes on rack. Breakfast excellent. So much choice. Ate in the hotel one evening for dinner - really great.

Wow, the Marina Hotel has been a wonderful place to spend 3 nights in Sestri Levante, so close to Cinque Terre! Seriously, you need to consider staying here. From the hotel it is an easy (level) 15-minute walk to the train station which will take you to each of the 5 towns decorating the beautiful Italian Riviera coastline. Staying in Sestri is, I think, a less-expensive option than spending the extra money to stay in a Cinque Terre town itself. These towns are close to Sestri by train, so you might want to check it out! The hotel is so very clean! The rooms are tasteful and spotless! The bed is firm, but very comfortable. The hotel water tastes good, too. If this was the only good thing I had to say about the Marina Hotel, it would be a boring review, so let me tell you about the hidden value to staying at the Marina Hotel... his name is Santos! Santos is one of the warmest, nicest, hotel managers I have ever met. I think the word I am looking for is "genuine" - Santos "genuinely" wants you to be comfortable, to have fun during your visit and wants you to enjoy the hospitality that he and his sister, Magda, have to offer. I'm talking about more than a friendly, "Buongiorno!" here. Santos will sit down with you and tell you his recommendations for what you want to see while in Sestri Levante. Today, for example, we spent our last day in Cinque Terre taking the train to Riomaggiore, then hopping a boat to Portovenere, something we might not have thought about, had not Santos mentioned it to us as a place we really should visit. And we're glad we did! It is an old and beautiful coastal town that has to be reached by boat or foot, from the northern area of Cinque Terre. Oh, I have to tell you about the food at the Marina Hotel. OMG! While we have enjoyed the lunches we’ve eaten at other restaurants around Cinque Terre in the last few days, we have eaten every dinner at the hotel. Why? Because – who knew? – Santos is a fantastic chef! Last night he walked me into the back of his kitchen to show me the 40kg of weight he had pressing down on the octopus he is serving tonight as part of his daily hotel pre-fix menu. It’s like Santos read my mind, because eating fresh octopus on the Italian Rivera, has been on my list of things to do during this trip! Ha! Santos just stopped by my spot in the lobby (enjoying a nice vino rosso) and showed me the solid block of octopus for tonight’s meal. Apparently he has a machine that slices the octopus like a terrine and then I think there is some sauce he is making to put over it. In any event, it’s – as always – a 3-course meal and my mouth is watering! So, I’ll stop the review here and suggest you do yourself a big favor and give The Marina Hotel some consideration during your next visit to Italy!

Comfortable hotel with basic facilities, the staff and really friendly especially the chef who I believe is also the owner. The room had all you need for a short stay and was comfy but the bathroom was a bit small with the toilet very close to the sink. Would highly recommend having dinner in the restaurant, it was great value and really nice food. The breakfast was a good spread. Hotel is roughly half way between the beaches and the train station and the hotel provide all the details you need if you plan on visiting the Cinque Terre villages which are 30mins or so away by train. There is free street parking around which the hotel staff directed is to, there is also time limited parking for initially dropping off.

We stayed in hotel Marina from 28.07.2017 to 04.09.2017. The hotel is very clean with very well kept rooms, furnished in Italian style. The hotel is located near to the old town and the beaches - 10 minutes by walk, and very close to the train station. The owners of the hotel and all hotel staff were very kind and helpful. The internet connection vas very good even in the rooms, compared to the other hotels we were in. We don’t have any problems during the staying, everything was perfect! The breakfast vas excellent and the dinner just superb! But that is not surprise, given the fact that the restaurant has a Michelin star (in my opinion the stars must be 2). Strongly recommend the hotel for those who want to have nice vacation. Good location to staying for those who have decided to explore the attractions in Liguria by public transport. There are regular trains to Cinque Terre, Portofino, Santa Margherita etc. There are also regular ferries to nearest coastal towns, to Portofino, and to abbey San Frutosso. Sestri Levante offers various entertainments like free visit to the observatory, music in the streets of the old town, racing with boats and many other events - you can find the events in the tourist calendar on the web site of this wonderful coastal town. We would like to say thanks to all hotel staff for our wonderful staying!

Stayed here one night on our way to Piemonte. The staff was very helpful and nice, the hotel was cosy in a nonfancy way. My husband got god help finding a dentist when he had a toothache. Distance from the sea was around 400 meters. A small minus for the sound of traffic, but I guess we could have shut the window to reduce the noise. Breakfeast was nice with fresh fruit!

We had to cancel last minute in another city and just looked around a few minutes in order to find something convenient just for 1 night, and came across this one, just a couple minutes away from the old town/historical center and all shops. The lady at the reception was very nice and found us a room right away, besides giving us some information. Very good, quick, efficient. As I said, just what we needed!
