A beautifully positioned hotel overlooking the Bay of Silence. I had been looking forward to staying at this hotel in the lovely town of Sestri Levante and I was not disappointed. The welcome was pleasant, the room [superior with sea view, worth paying a little more for] was a little small especially if you have two largish suitcases. A beautiful balcony with a breath-taking view. The restaurant was good. The breakfast was excellent for me but my wife who needs gluten free food had a limited selection. I would expect a hotel like this to have high quality gluten free bread. The bar was fantastic with a magnificent view and good service. We appreciated the shuttle to and from the station. My only disappointment was a mix up we had with the booking. We had to change the booking twice. It seems that one of the cancellations wasn't received. I was told that despite our room not being needed I would be charged an extra night. This is a totally discretionary charge as we booked directly with the hotel. I was told they would discuss the matter when I arrived. That didn't happen just an extra charge when we left. They could have made some gesture. That would have shown some understanding. They lost nothing as they weren't full on the night we missed. They just hid behind what they say are the rules. It left us disappointed. A lovely hotel that I can recommend but don't expect any flexibility from management if something goes wrong.

The hotel is towards the end of the bay of Silence with its own small private beach, and that is all the good things I can say! We had one superior room, and an attic suite, there were no tea making products and I had a coffee making machine with 3 coffee pods available, no milk, not what was expected for the price of the room, the breakfast was very below standard, we ordered a plate of superior quality ham and cheese one morning to get what looked like spam and cheese that had been left out all night and for this reason we decided not to dine in the “Michelin star” restaurant, we didn’t want to be disappointed, but thankfully there are many excellent restaurants nearby, also the staff just seemed to be miserable and not very friendly, the reception staff gave us incorrect information and couldn’t be bothered to book anything for you, it’s sad, but I don’t know what is going on here but they need help!!

Wow! - this hotel is not the most stylish that I have ever stayed at but still we ADORED our time at the Hotel Miramare and literally cannot wait to return . Sestri Levante is one of the most stunning beachside towns that I have ever been in, it is so relaxed with a lovely selection of shops and restaurants and everyone we encountered was super friendly. The view from the Hotel Miramare is literally breathtaking - your eyes are just constantly drawn to the sea and the stunning bay. If you get the opportunity to visit this spectacular part of Italy - JUST GO! - you won't regret it.

The problem with this hotel is that, when you pay over 500 € / night, or even more, is it enough for you that the location of the hotel is perfect or do you whant value for your money? I travel a lot and has been much expensive places too, and In my opinion, when you pay such amount, you have to get good value for your money, especially when the problems are easy to salve. When we arrived to hotel, first we met the outside ashtray as in picture. We had two different room and the first one's wc has very very unpleasant smell ( cesspit problem ?). The second one, the drain in the shower doesnt work properly, the sink lock didn't work, couldn't lock the balcony door that did get open him self during the night by the wind and rain inside. There was two people work at the beach, for giving towels to the clients and set up sunshade. Shift is 6-7 hours, actual work is max 40 min., hotel side beach is 20 m x 2 m. One of them, Francesko, start his shift always by cleaning this very very small part of the beach but other guy never. Just give towels and look the phone. The second day, a half eated apple was at the beach, he walks 30 times near by and did not take it away ( as in the picture ). It can sound a little think but in this level hotel, or at least what they try to be, it don't work like this. Every morning there is rubbishes at the beach that waves brings and never get cleaned before Francesco start his shift. Some towels smell very strongly vinegar. As in the picture bellow, after the rain, which was surely not for the first time, they put towels under the door of the bar terrace, that water don't come inside. Is it in your opinion ok? The worst; male waiters was unbelievably arrogant! Just unbelievable. The second day I did complain, and the manager did handle the issue, for this time, but it should never be like this at the first place, never. Only good think at the hotel was that, it was very clean and reception staff was very friendly. Most of the staff don't welcome you when they met you anywhere at the hotel. This is a basic rule for this level hotel that, all staff smile and welcome clients in all occasion. After all, this hotel did absolutely not worth for this price / service level, there is a professional managing issues. There is many things which must work well all together in this business that, you can say, it's a good hotel, not only good location, clean rooms and high prices make you a good one.

We had a room overlooking the bay with a very small balcony. Just room for 2 chairs. As soon as we arrived, we said the air conditioning was not working as the room temperature was 26 degrees. They said it was, but after further conversations they left us a huge free standing unit that was very noisy, but helped. They said it was temporary fix and would sort the problem. They then admitted it was not working. Engineers were there for 2 days but our room was no better. We noticed the next room also had a unit delivered! The carpet on the corridor was marked and stained. We highlighted to the staff, that the fridge in the room had not been re-stocked. It was never re-stocked for the week that we were there. We had to ask for body shampoo and also tissues as they were never automatically replaced. The breakfast was fine, but the bread and pastries were getting dry after being left out from beginning of service. It would be more sensible to have a buffet/self-service 40 euros for a sun lounger is extortionate .A couple of times we just wanted a swim and to dry off in the sun for an hour and it didn't seem possible. Not one member of staff smiled and the reception staff made no eye contact whenever we came or went. The only member who smiled and looked happy was Stephano who gave us a coffee every evening The shuttle service from the station, as we arrived by train, was good.

Suite was spacious and had unrivalled views of the Bay of Silence. Hotel had traditional decor and our suite had a tiny balcony with just enough room for 2 to sit. Our 3rd floor corridor smelt strongly of smoke every day. Hotel Location is good, everything is walkable. The reception staff and housekeeping were helpful and friendly. Breakfast is average, bordering on poor - mainly due to the hit and miss service. Over four days we had one day of good service, two days average and one poor - the inconsistent waiter service actually put us off booking their Michelin restaurant- as they share staff. Our order was wrong, slow or we received someone else’s every day. Quality of breakfast food from the kitchen is good, omelettes, juice, coffee and fruit all high quality. This was our third hotel on this trip and comparatively, we found the breads, pastries and cake (served on a cake stand for each table) to be poor: dry, tasteless and seemed to sit out from 8am to 10:30am. The sea was very warm in July and to sit on the hotel private beach you’ll need to pay €40 each for a sun bed each day. We wanted to do a quick dip and relax for an hour, but we couldn’t spot an obvious place in the hotel to do this. Car parking is €35 a day, expensive but necessary in the town. If it suits your trip, recommend getting the train, as roads narrow and parking in town is limited. There’s a shuttle service between station and the hotel. Many of the staff were great, perfect and romantic location, old fashioned hotel.

Wonderful hotel right on the bay with private beach that is gorgeous! Our loft suite was perfect for our 5 person family. Parking was easy with the staff and food very good. Easy train ride to hike Cinque Terre and we used Shore service (redo from hotel) to get a boat and captain for the day. So fun! Went to San Fruttuoso and Portofino on the boat. Would definitely come back

Bellissimo!!!! Stunning location and beautiful room with sea view steps from the sand. Great location for restaurant and shopping as well. This hotel has a private beach so no need for a beach club for the day! We had a glorious time here. Very friendly and attentive staff and the room was so beautiful and clean. Our favorite stay during our trip would definitely recommend!!!

WOW! An amazing 4-star hotel right on the beach of the Bay of Silence. Excellent customer service, from the front desk (super helpful), to the staff in both the bar and the on site restaurant, to the driver of the free shuttle to/from the train station, to the maid service, to the guy on the beach that gives you chaise lounges and towels….the service is GREAT! The restaurant is wonderful, it’s a Michelin 1 star and the food is excellent. The location is perfect, lots of dining choices, close to the train station, on a great beach… enjoy!

On arrival there was a huge miscommunication with our booking which was not the fault of ours or the hotel but the hotel then went overboard to sort it for us. They managed to squeeze the 5 of us into one room and we had to move rooms during our stay. They also allowed my husband to work in one of their offices. I have been meaning to write this review for months as they truly did all they could to fix a very stressful situation. The breakfast was absolutely lovely, as was dinner right on the beach. I loved the beach chairs and the hotel let my children use the stand up paddle boards. The staff were all lovely and very accommodating.
