I went for the first time this May and it has been a fantastic experience. The staff is kind and always available, the services are precise e quick. The rooms are fabulous with outstanding view of the sea. Included in the price are the beach services, a thing I like a lot.

This was a very cute little town! We were looking for a place to stay to be close enough to visit the Cinque Terre but also close enough to be able to get to Milan. I had never heard of this town before but thought, it's Italy it can't be bad. It is just minutes from the Cinque Terre and we were able to do a day trip there and still able to spend time relaxing in the water back at the hotel in the sea. I found this hotel through tripadvisor but was a bit worried because you cannot book a room through their website. It sends you to booking.com. There weren't many current reviews on tripadvisor so I was skeptical. But after continuing to check and checking it's location on google maps I decided to give it a shot. It turned out to be a great room and great hotel. The location is right on the water. We were on there 2 nights and were saving money so didn't get a sea view (which we regret) but really got the same view at breakfast and from the outside lounge. I am pretty sure it is the only hotel that is on the side of the road of the sea. Most others are across the road. The hotel is close enough to the train station that we walked but I am sure a taxi ride would not be too expensive if you needed to ride. We walked each time. The town is not too big and we walked everywhere. Our room was not too big but just fine for the two of us. It was unseasonably hot in all of Europe the 2 weeks we were there and the A/C could not keep up. I'm sure that was the case everywhere and nothing could be done about it. The building had once been a theater? so there was a big open two story space, and they hosted a dance class one night. Our room was off of that area and they played ballroom music during the lesson. But they BLASTED it. Like absurdly loud. They were just dancing and it could have been about half that loud and been effective for the dancers. It wasn't that long but it was annoying and inconsiderate. Their breakfast was a very nice spread. It was served in a restaurant that was indoor-outdoor seating. We were the only ones there one morning and sat right at the railing for a sea view. It overlooked all of the beach seating area that is included with the hotel stay. There was a small concession stand outside of the hotel that sold drinks, chips, pastries, hotdogs, snacks. There are plenty of restaurants in the area. My son ate tons of seafood in this town and the Cinque Terre. Included in the room are 2 chairs and an umbrella at the beach in front of the hotel. The front desk will give you towels. I don't know how you get access if you aren't staying in a hotel. You maybe have to rent a chair? But we used it one afternoon and it was outstanding in the heat. The water is nice and there is a lifeguard. He also kept after rowdy kids whose parents seemed to have disappeared. There are paddle boats that the hotel owns that you can take out. This is a very nice hotel and we will stay here again if we are able to return. This was a super town and a very nice place to start for visiting Cinque Terre.

This is our second stay and I’m soo glad we returned. The hotel lobby and restaurant are beautiful. This staff is fantastic! Rooms are so wonderful. I do wish the bed was more comfortable. We did not have an issue with the temperature and it’s been fairly hot. Beach cabana and bar very comfortable. The roof top lounge is definitely spectacular!

I don’t think there’s a better place to stay in Sestri Levante! - direct access to private beach (from all other hotels, you must at least cross the street to get to the beach) - hotel guests have their reserved beach chair and loungers in one of the front rows right at the water - the beach cafe offers food and drink (in the shade) or you can take it onto the beach (I love the early evening “Sprizz”!) - short walks to all restaurants - short walk to train station (don’t take your car, if going into the Cinque Terre!) - unbelievably friendly (multi-language!) staff Checkout is as late as 11:30 am. And as we did not have to leave S. L. until 3pm, we could still use our beach chairs etc. until we left. Nice!!! Highly recommended place to stay.

Well, to be fair it was not the worst night I have ever had in a hotel in my life but last night was definitely the worst I have had in any hotel in the last 25 years. Suite Hotel Nettuno (SHN) may tout itself as four star accommodation but management couldn't or wouldn't get the a/c organised for hot weather (apparently a technician has to change the system). We opened the window of course, which reduced the heat, but let in a lot of noise and too much light. (There was no ceiling or other fan in our junior suite.) No "heads up" when we checked in, no apology when we asked about the a/c other than making the above explanation sound like an act of God rather than something well within management's control, no discount, just a puddle of perspiration and a long, uncomfortable night with little sleep. Is it the same everywhere on this part of the Italian coast ? No ! Last week we stayed in a better hotel in Forte dei Marmi at a much lower price and enjoyed lovely surroundings and functioning a/c (with a ceiling fan also available).

Dear Guest, we are really sorry for the inconvenience you had. Of course we are really sorry for such an unconfortable night. Unfortunatly when you stayed here with us the air conditioning system was still off (the weather was oddly still very cold in that period and changed suddenly) and we had to check it and switch it on: it was not possible to do it immediatly and we did it just few days later, so we apologize for the bad night you had. We hope to have again the chance to have you as our guests Best regards
