We found this delightful borgo via our timeshare exchange company and rented it as a bonus rental. We stayed in Giovanna's House, number 12. A centuries old 2 bedroom home. On either side of our home were neighbours who had lived in Messenano for most of their lives. We enjoyed talking to the locals. I have been learning Italian for...

We stayed in Giovanni's House for a week and really loved this place. Emanuela was a great host and communication with her prior and during our stay was very good. The price is pretty amazing for where you are. The rooms are beautiful and very homely. Staying in the castle gave you a unique experience of living in a small...

For me staying at II Borgo di Messenano was a dream come true. I will always remember with great fondness this magical place. My friend and I stayed for a week in Giovanni's House, II Borgo di Messenano. Emanuela warmly welcomed us to "our house" and we immediately felt we had "arrived" in a very special place. Relaxing into the...

This is an ideal place from which to tour the beautiful region of Umbria. The house has the essentials for a comfortable stay whilst also providing an idyllic spot to recharge your energies. The pool is an added bonus. There is so much to see and do around Umbria but do keep some time to just relax and enjoy the...

We loved our week at Borgo di Messenano. We stayed in "Marianna's" house, which is a large two storey apartment in an ex-castle in a tiny stone village in the hills of Umbria. The surrounding area is beautiful with many very nice walking trails. You would need a car to stay here, although compared to most places nearby the tariff...

When we discovered Casa Giovanni on the internet we immediately fell in love with the idea of taking a holiday there. We came with high expectations and were not disappointed. The owner, Emanuela, was so helpful with everything, from booking to instructions on how to get there. On arrival, we were impressed - the house has been furnished and equipped...

We booked a last minute holiday to Italy and enquired about one of the main properties in Messenano and when Emanuela advised they were full she offered their smaller personal cottage on the edge of the village. It was perfect! Full of character and personal charm, we felt priviledged to have been offered this idyllic home away from home. The...

We loved staying here. The location is great: very easy to get to numerous hilltop towns in Umbria and even Tuscany from here. We (two parents with kids, 9 and 12) would go out for the day and bring food home for dinner and eat in on the small terrace which overlooks the other medieval buildings in the tiny town....
