Hotel Palazzo Leti is a beautiful small family run hotel in a peaceful setting in the historical centre of Spoleto. The delightful owners, Laura and Gianpaolo, spent years renovating the Palazzo to its former glory and it shows. My husband and I stayed two nights and would not hesitate to return. The views from the garden terrace where we ate...

We are sitting here in the second destination of our first trip to Italy and feel it is time to comment upon the very pleasant experiences of our first. Hotel Palazzo Leti is a great introduction to Italy: the warm welcome of the owners, the staggering amount of history at every turn, the gorgeous simple yet delicious food, the sometimes...

It's hard to go wrong when one is in a beautiful setting like Spoleto, and especially in a hotel that has a garden and terrace overlooking the valley. Palazzo Leti is spotlessly clean and comfortable. We felt the service was quite formal, perhaps because of our difficulty in communicating, since we don't speak much Italian. I booked a standard room,...

What a wonderful gem. Tucked away on a quiet street, but walking distance to everything. We walked through the doors onto a beautiful terraced garden, overlooking the mountain, valley, ancient aqueduct and church. The hotel is equally as lovely. Meticulously maintained, with attention to details and craftsmanship. Our room was a good size, with a large antique mirror and stunning...

My husband and I, and another couple of close friends, were fortunate to stay at the Palazzo Leti for 6 days recently. What a wonderful time we had. It was a great location to use as a base to explore Umbria and the husband and wife owners were a very big help in guiding us to interesting locations and restaurants....

This is one of the most memorable stops on our travels through Italy. We were traveling through the region and stopped in Spoleto for the evening. Found beautiful rooms, grounds, and wonderful host. It was like stepping back in time. We would recommend without hesitation. The service was elegant. We had left a garment in the closet and they were...

This small family owned hotel is in a beautifully decorated old building, with a lovely peaceful garden with extensive views. The owners could not have been more helpful and welcoming and our stay was perfect in every way (apart from the wet weather, when they even provided us with umbrellas!). We would not hesitate to recommend staying here, although it...

Facing an 11 hour flight delay, I called the hotel to confirm I would be arriving very late, and to please hold my room. Later, after further delays, I eventually arrived in a dark, empty Spoleto Train Station after midnight. I called the hotel and asked them to arrange for a local taxi to pick me up. Instead, one of...

When you walk into this property, you will pass first through the garden and see this stunning view over the Spoleto valley and right away you feel home. Then Laura and Gianpaolo will welcome you so warmly , you never want to leave . The lovely garden is a tranquil place to read a book and have an aperitivo. Our...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The beautiful residence of the noble Leti family is located in the historic center of Spoleto. According to various sources, it seems that this was the first residence of the Leti family who arrived in Spoleto in 1500 but the family name became extinct at the beginning of the XIX century. due to a lack of male heirs. The Residence was built shortly after the medieval city walls were constructed (1292) using, in part, a pre existent Roman structure which you can still see walking along Via delle Felici. Recent restoration has revealed an important architectural, environmental and historic heritage not to mention a garden that has been restored in classic "Italian garden" style. From the garden one can admire the beautiful view of Monteluco and some of Spoleto's most important monuments including the Rocca Albornoziana, and St. Peter's Church. Rooms: The Historical Residence consists of 12 rooms, all of which are decorated with warm lightly coloured fabrics and organza. Each room, with its unique architecture, colour and decor is reminiscent of a noble room of the past. All rooms have a view of the sacred mountain of the Spoleto valley "Monteluco", which evokes the peace and the harmony of the hermits that once lived there. Facility: Soundproof, safe, mini bar, air conditioning, TV sat, internet access free. ... more   less
