Nestled in a stunning, elevated location, the Palace Grand Hotel stands out for its beautiful setting and newly added pool area, as noted by numerous guests. The hotel's cleanliness and well-maintained rooms receive consistent praise, with the elegance of the pool and dining options also frequently commended. While the spacious rooms with impressive views are appreciated, calls for modernization are common. Service quality is a mixed bag, facing criticism for the shuttle service and reception. Despite its retro charm, guests feel the hotel's value is diminished by high costs and limited entertainment.

The pool area was pleasant, not really suitable for children considering the hotel allows you to book with children.breakfast was good, restaurant food for adults was good.
This hotel does not cater for children, we travelled as a large group of 15 with four children ages 1 to 5. After 4pm they only serve a small selection of sandwiches, and the childrens menu can only be served after 7pm and only in the restaurant, this restaurant is not suitable for children, this results in young children having to eat late at night and in their rooms which is unacceptable. One of our group with 2 adults and a 3 year old child were in a room with no extra bed provided for the child and no bath only a shower. Three of the rooms that were booked with children were allocated rooms with balconies whereas one of the adult only rooms were not! Safety of children is obviously not considered when allocating rooms. Two of the rooms were on the 4th floor, these rooms are awful, very dated and in serious need of updating, a large window in one of the bathroom did not close properly. The parents also had to eat in their rooms as the dining room is not suitable for children totally unacceptable. They were also charged 10euros for room service! Most of the bar staff and restaurant staff were very courteous however reception and management staff were unhelpful and rude. No tea or coffee facilities in the room and phones to reception do not work to order room service! I will not stay here again

WE ARE NOT A PLAYGROUND Yasmin, Zoe and Susan We respond to your multiple reviews after seeing the comments written on several websites: rightly everyone is free to express their opinions, but it is necessary to be objective. Let's start from a fixed point, children are the most beautiful thing in the world, they are our future: who doesn't love children? But the hotel lobby is not a playground: children hiding under the aperitif buffet, running around with strollers and also with our luggage trolley. Everyone knows perfectly well that it cannot be the children's fault if they play in an inappropriate place. We asked you to stop them because some guests were bumped by your strollers, while other guests had complained. The member of our staff who tried to ask you to "respect the other guests" was the hotel manager. But at a certain point we have realized, considering the drinks, that it was better to give up. Regarding our restaurant opening hours, 7:00 pm is exactly the same as all other hotels, it is not late, also for the children's menu. You have obviously decided to use your multiple reviews on all the websites as possible to try to do yourself justice, but the truth was quite different.

Nice classic hotel in top spot and beautiful new pool. Rooms in there against are old. Initially booked a more luxurious room on the top floor. This room had a connecting door which made it look like the neighbors were in our room (they were not noisy). Moved to a simple room on the first floor on request, beautiful but in serious need of a refurbishment by Dutch standards. Advice, hotel is recommended due to location and style but check when booking if you do not have a connecting room. Luxury rooms and simple rooms also appear to differ minimally in price.

The hotel is located in a beautiful park on a hill above Varese. Parking spaces available. The city center is about 25 minutes on foot or with a paid hotel service. Absolute peace and quiet, away from noisy traffic. The standard room is large, comfortable bed, TV with some German channels. Cleanliness first class. WiFi available. Heating, a pleasant room temperature, rather rare in Italy during the winter. Marble bathroom with patina, very elegant. Plentiful breakfast, very good coffee. Extremely friendly staff. The whole hotel exudes a special atmosphere, not hectic, very pleasant.

I booked my presence and that of three other friends at the concert
which was held on Sunday 26 NOVEMBER 2023 at the Palace hotel in Varese.
Free entry, there was the possibility of booking an aperitif for the price of 15 euros!
well it can be done…. Too bad the aperitif was VIRTUAL!!
At the end of the concert we went to the location where the aperitif should have been served.... but nothing.... once it was all over there wasn't a trace of a pizza!
Now, let's be clear about who organized the aperitif, with what intention they organized it.
With great surprise I directed myself to the dining room manager who, accustomed I think to this type of complaint, concluded with "we expected an olive and a chip each, nothing more"
absurd !
And in any case shameful for a luxury hotel!

don't you think..?
I turn to the management who perhaps hasn't done training courses on neuro marketing, but that's okay, let's go through this too, however put yourself in the customer's shoes!
in that room probably only 10 people took advantage of the aperitif, the others were looking with their eyes... imagine 90 people looking for the virtual aperitif with their eyes!
shameful for a luxury hotel!

We took advantage of the Liberty Experience package at this facility, which included a welcome aperitif, a candlelit dinner and overnight stay.
What can I say, as soon as you arrive it seems like you're taking a step back in time, to what was once the historic Kursaal. The historic (but well-kept) structure is the essence of the Varese Liberty style and the view offered by the Campigli hill is stupendous.
The rooms are simple but well looked after and clean (in our case we requested an upgrade to the package, with a lake view room... wonderful).
The dinner was good and well prepared, the dining room staff were kind and friendly, always attentive to the staff's requests.
The breakfast was also rich and with quality products.
In short, thanks to the Palace we spent a wonderful wedding anniversary.

We stayed for four nights wishing to celebrate New Year Eve in the restaurant of the hotel. The first impression when we arrived by car was great. That huge park, the illuminated buiding, window entrance and spacious halls at the reception. I wouldn't say that that man at the reception was very glad to meet us, only on duty, no more. Our room was on the 5th floor under
the roof, rather spacious but only with half windows, not balcony. The lighting was very gloomy, specially in the bathroom where there was not a magnifying mirror at all. It was impossible to do make up in front of big wall mirror without enough lighting. Instead of glasses there were only paper cups in the bathroom and living room. And some words about breakfast, the hotel has four stars, but the breakfast was the poorest one we ever had. No choice in eggs (only cold boiled and cold scrambled), one kind of cheese of the lowest quality and one kind of rolls plus toasters. And all that in tasty Italy. We stayed in a big numbers of Italian hotels and we never had such miserable breakfast. And for the end of our story. We paid 160 euros per person for the New Year Gala Dinner, but we were sitted in an isolated hall far away from the main hall where people enjoyed live music and dances and we had to enjoy our privacy how whrote the meneger of the hotel in reply to our complaint.

Dear Guest, we are truly sorry that we were not able to live up to your expectations regarding your stay at the Palace Grand Hotel in Varese. Our large rooms chosen and booked by you do not have a balcony and therefore French windows and use paper cups for your safety in case they fall in the bathroom and cut your feet as has often happened previously. This is why we purchased paper cups. Our breakfast buffet is very large with sweet and savory products, homemade cakes, fresh bread, cold cuts, cheeses, scrambled eggs, various types of dried fruit and much more and we are a little surprised by your statements, but we assure you that we will try to increase our offer even further. When you booked your New Year's Eve dinner, you were told that there was only one table left for two people in the room next to the party room and you accepted, why complain about it later? In any case, we take note of all your reports in order to improve our services and make our customers even more satisfied.

Beautiful Inn with the charm of a palace. The rooms have the soul of old hotels, very spacious, freshly painted... the bathrooms have kept their old taps but have all the comforts of the twenty-first century. Sumptuous setting, beautiful pool and all for a more than reasonable Award.

Fosse for logistics would deserve 1 star: shuttle service with absurd schedules in the evening ends at 6.15 pm, while the morning starts with very convenient at 10 am. I don't know if the timetables have been designed at the table to make the presence of the service currently insubstantial and be able to provide the service with a hatchback or what. It is a good thing that the hotel is rehabilitated for its dominant position on Varese and the surrounding lakes. Dilapidated room telephone (broken handset) no slippers in the room. Television to the wall disconnected. Very good food and friendly waiters. Beautiful lobby.... Which makes notsire the rating from 1 star to three stars... Definitely improveable

This hotel is worth a detour for its astonishing architecture dating from another era, from the last century. We have the feeling of entering a history book. In addition, this immense building is located in a large, magnificent park populated with century-old trees. The large, brand new swimming pool in the middle of the park is splendid. Inside the hotel, the hall is also imposing and has high ceilings like in the Belle Epoque. The decoration, outdated, deserves a refresh. The rooms are spacious but a good lick of paint is also needed. This is apparently planned, I was told at reception. It will probably no longer be the same prices... The bedding is very good and the air conditioning appreciable in this heatwave... On the other hand, you should know that the superior luxury rooms are on the 5th floor and even if they are barely more large, they are no better than the standard ones, worse they don't even have a balcony. But they have a view of the lake. In summary, it is better to book standard rooms (lake view too) which surprisingly are prettier and with a balcony for some than the superior luxury rooms… nothing to say about the breakfast which is correct, the coffee is very good all in all. like pastries and fresh fruit salad. The dining room has a very pretty panoramic view of Lake Varese.
Dinner can be had in the park under the arcades, it’s original and very chic. Salt-crusted fish is delicious.
Thank you in any case to the young women at reception for their welcome and their professionalism and in particular Claudia for all her good advice and kindness.
Clean and well-kept hotel, lovely staff, we will keep very good memories of it.

For the third year in a row we chose the Palace for the end of year dinner.
This year definitely disappointing, buffet and especially music and entertainment in general. We had a clarinet dinner, a real bore, the DJ waiting for midnight didn't arrive, on request we danced to the tune of spotify.
And our complaints were told that we probably didn't understand the music chosen for the night. Considering the price increase € 170.00 per person we would have expected at least a "Sorry, we will try to do better"
Meanwhile, we will try to find better.

You can take a train (Trenord) from Malpensa to Gallarate and change trains in Gallarate to Varese - about 1 hour trip. You can also take a taxi from Malpensa to Varese which should cost you approx €60. The connection Malpensa-Varese is indeed difficult. I would think there would also be a bus service. Enjoy your stay in Varese!
